It was not our first surf trip to Baler, but this one was indeed the first time we went there to surf and enjoy great music afterwards.
Over 600 people from Manila traveled to witness this event, some seasoned surfers, a lot beginners, but all share the same passion of riding a wave and the heart for music. If you are one of the 600 who caught your first wave that weekend and got bitten by the surfing bug, then we’ll surely see you again at the line-up.
Seeing hundreds of beginners catching waves, getting wiped out, while wearing huge smiles almost tattooed in their faces, stoked and just simply having fun, reminds me of the feeling I got when I myself caught my first wave a couple of years ago, that feeling that tells me that I’ll be surfing for a long time.
Travel Factor and Aloha Boardsports also hosted the biggest beginners surf competition that weekend, where every surfer was paired with an instructor to assist them during their heat, a great way to make sure each beginner surfer are safe and protected as they compete.
The stage setup at Aliya Surf Camp for the Music Festival at night was humongous! Not your typical provincial stage setup!
The evening Music Party went well when bands like Tropical Depression, Coffee Break Island, Franco, Echo, Salamin, Pedicab and Wolfgang took the stage.
All in all it was a successful event, we had so much fun, got a chance to meet with old surfer friends and just hang together to enjoy some good music! Congratulations to Travel Factor and Aloha Boardsports for an awesome event! Looking forward to Surf and Music Festivel 2012!
