  2. @ patcuteus, eto info from Condura:

Understanding the “LOCK and LOAD” corral or wave start:

This technical procedure is necessary to prevent runners congestion. There is an uphill 1 lane road, 400 meters from the race start.

Step 1 “LOCK IN” – assemble in your respective wave group.

Step 2 Race marshals with cut the wave of 500 runners into a smaller wave of 250 runners.

Step 3 Race marshals will walk down the wave and “LOAD” them inside the skyway tunnel.

Step 4 We will fire off the wave – 250 runners at a time – in 2 minute intervals between waves.

Please pay close attention to all the announcements being given by the host/s. This is for your own safety and enjoyment the race start.

  6. If they really deserve it, dapat nagparegister sila ng maaga. Pwede din magparegister in behalf of the runner. The slots are for the people who are up to the challenge of the 42k distance. With or without training, they all deserve to run. Mahaba pa naman ang time so they really have to prepare. Calling some of them “Undeserving” will not help them in any way.

Just my opinion. Happy Running to all. :)

  7. @limitEDrunner

Tama ka po sir. For fun and experience lang ito.

  8. Opinion ko lang ‘to pero ang pagsali sa 42K nang dahil lang gustong ma-experience (kahit hindi physically fit) o dahil sa promo shows lack of respect for the distance. Oo nga, may iilang gustong i-challenge ang sarili, pero I am referring to those who are really unprepared and unfit for the event, na tipong hanggang ngayon e hindi naman nagpre-prepare. Hindi biro ang 42K.

  9. Baka marami ding mga mag DNF dito o “did not finish”. Hehe. Hindi talaga biro ang 42k. Registered na ako sa 21k. Maabot ko din yang 42k pero by ladder. Ayaw ko mag jump from my latest 15k run to 42k. Kaya 21k muna. Bahalang hinay basta kanunay. Hehehe

  10. @Buknoy

Good luck sa mga sumali. Sana walang mangyaring masama sa kanila.

    @Running Buddies_Jerry

  11. there is always a first time ika nga , this is my first 42K kahit naka 8 times nako naka half marathon, 42K is still a whole new ballgame. Kelangan to train hard for this. problem is my heel still hurts after beating the Milo 21k cutoff panu makapag train? next up is PSE bull run 21k

  12. comment 226 r@m©€$ – salamat po sir! makakasali rin ako dito in the future, and sisiguruhin ko ng one of my best marathon ever :-)

  13. comment 232 mareng Jessa – naiintindihan ko po yung concern mo and thank you for that… share ko lang po ng konti… may article dati sa runners world na kung kaya mong tumakbo ng 30mins comfortable run without stopping eh makaka survive ka ng 42k just to finish only and not looking for a good time… pero kung maisipan mo ng magseryoso sa takbuhan mas magandang challenge yung age category ng MILO MARATHON…

ako po in my 2 1/2 yrs na rin sa running im not expecting to qualify sa milo marathon since every sunday lang ako tumatakbo at not enough yun para talagang bumilis or lumakas ka sa running, pero na observe ko muntik muntikan ko ng makuha yung qualifying time of 3:50 for 37yrs old :-)

kung hindi na qualify eh take that as another experience… and by experience nakaka 5 marathon na rin… and looking forward for my next event for 2013 which is MILO MARATHON again.. goodluck…

  15. OT na ito pero importante rin sa ating mga runners yung ating health… yung iba kasi naiisip dahil runner ako eh malusog or healthy na ako… mahalaga pa rin yung nagpapa consult tayo sa mga physician natin… remember ultramarathoner great MICAH TRUE known as CABALLO BLANCO found dead in new mexico forest while doing 12 mile trail training run… upon investigation eh may heart illness pala yung kapwa natin runner… kaya napaka importante yung health natin kahit sabihin nagbuburn tayo ng calories everyday while running… salamat… OT na…

  16. good luck runners! better start training na talaga sa mga mag 42k. but better to under train than over train. research na din for tips. may nag blog before sa states, walang running experience then joined a 42k a week before the event. they finished w/n 5 hours kaya lang inamin nila na madami silang ininom na advil w/c is a big no no talaga. madaming nag react sa blog kasi para nga namang walang respect sa distance tapos pwede pa nilang ikamatay. share ko lang po.

  17. @Jessa

Respect the distance, ika nga.

  19. @Jessa – ayos na pala… nagkasundo rin…
*basta’t bayaan na lang natin yung nag FM na ang habol eh just to finish, experience etc..
*atleast physically fit meaning (healthy heart and other parts of the body) not necessarily sobrang daming training… like i said 30mins of comfortable run without stopping imsure makakatapos ng marathon…

sabi nga daw nila “whatever the distance 5k to 50k don’t forget to smile and enjoy every moment of it” :-)

  20. comment 238 masakittuhod – sir halos parehas lang tayo… masasabi kong competitive siguro yung time ko 21k and below pero pag lumagpas na sa 21k eh talagang kinakapos at narerealize ko na ito ang epekto ng once a week run pero walang dapat pagsisihan… natatapos naman ng maayos and injury free since sobrang daming recovery days compare to running…

tama ka po na mas mabuti ang under train compare sa over train :-)

  21. see you guys sa route. lets just hope and pray na sana magiging maayos ang event at walang masamang mangyayari sa mga kalahok lalo na sa 42k at 21k.

    happy running to all!

    • Grabe pala ang layo ng 42k. Parang from Luneta to Silang Cavite. Ahahah. Ang kaya ko palang ngayon is from MOA to Quirino Grandstand then balik to MOA. 14.37K natakbo ko, nasa 1:27:56 ang time via RunKeeper. Hehe. How much more from Luneta to Silang Cavite baka DNF na ako. Ika nga ni Mo Farah “Go hard or go home”.

  22. @Buknoy, kaya mo yan. Just train hard and race easy. Just keep yourself healthy and strong, sama mo na pati psychological at emotional preparation.

  23. may naka sched na OFW RUN sa MARCH 24, sa Quirino Grandstand roxas boulevard to naia road ang route 3k,5k,10k,at 16k under ata ito sa programa ni vice press. at ng DOT at Duty free phils for the benefit of our modern day heroes sana wag sabayan ni coach ng RU1 ang event na ito nakakahiya naman kay vice at mukhang imported ang mga freebies dito ah ito nga pala yung facebook page ng OFW RUN sa march 24 2013 at Quirino grandstand for the benifit of our nation modern day heroes A great run for the modern-day heroes, “OFW RUN”. Watch for it! Be part of it! https://www.facebook.com/PinoyTakbo

Text me at 09327632058. Thanks. :)

  25. I hope the registration can be extended to dec. 26 or dec. 27. and hopefully they give finisher’s shirt for the 21k as well. good day

  26. anyone here would like to sell his/her 42k race kit. im willing to buy hindi kasi ako umabot sa last cut-off nila. due to my bc work sked this december.

  27. who cares why other people join races? Just run your own run. If someone wants to make porma, that’s their business. Me, I’m there to beat my PR

  28. I hope the 42k runners are on their last weeks of build up. Final 2 weeks of my training block then taper na. :-)

To all those running their first marathon in this event: When everything breaks down, it is your determination to cross the finish line that will see you through. A 42K is no fun run, expect to suffer especially after the 32nd kilometer. There are no short cuts to this distance. In all the 5 marathons I’ve done, I cannot recall a single race that I had fun with even with months of prep. :-) Goodluck!

  29. @Dive, I’m with IronmanAger with this. Running a marathon isn’t fun. It’s hard work. It is painful. If it isn’t painful, then it means you are taking it too easy.

The joy comes after the marathon, with the realization that you had conquered that pain and struggle.

  30. @Solo Runner – depends on your 42k goal. example: if you want to beat a good PR (w/n 4 hrs) hindi na siya fun kc you really have to concentrate on what you’re doing. pero kung matagal yun cut off like 8 hrs, you can do a slow run throughout thus it’s not too stressful on the runner mentally and physically = fun.

in my case, my marathons are my fun run kasi i tend to relax and enjoy the “moment” at 30 to 40k then go all out for the last 2k. im on serious mode on 1k up to 30k making sure that i finish the whole race w/n 5 hrs. and this is also why i will never qualify for the milo finals. hahahahaha!

good luck to all runners! believe in the taper!

  31. @Dive: Describe “fun”. We may have different meanings. Fun is a walk in the park which a race is not. Marathon is suffering and pain, and as Solo Runner said, the joy is after the race. It is only after the race when you realize and proved to yourself that you can endure all those sufferings and pain you’d gone through for 42K, And that’s when the fun part starts…not during the race.

When I said I didn’t have fun in all 5 marathons I did, I meant during the actual 42K. I may have been smiling at the start but after the 30th K when you start developing blisters or calf-heart attack, the smiles fade and you start asking where the fun is.

“The will to win is worthless, without the will to prepare”

  33. 21k o 42k man yan.. takbong mayaman ang gawin mo sure matatapos mo yan at mag eenjoy ka din….Enjoy running and Enjoy Training.. See you soon mga karunners….

  34. Due to something emergency I am giving away my 2nd wave 41k slot at cost. Better if my personal details replaced as well. Hard decision as missing opportunity for <4h finish this year. Transaction at SM-MOA, office hours MON-THU. Anyone?

  35. i registered online on December 13 , i have not received my race kit. i emailed the secretariat but there was no reply.. anyone with the same case? wala naman contact numbers or anything, kinda frustrating .

  36. on #282 Yikes! where are you located sly? More than a month na. Ako nag register Jan 2 online. Nag email ako secretariat sabi within this month. Kaba ko is baka race day na wala pa din race kit ko.

  37. hi RunBot & honeybels , pasig ang location ko. nakakanerbyos nga sobrang tagal eh sana at least man lang may makakausap sa kanila kung ano ang status. pinoyfitness please help us.

  38. Good Day Guys,

Who among you here willing buy race kit for 42K?
I will be selling mine because I will be leaving the country on Jan. 26, so I’ll not be able to run. I will be giving all in the package except the tech shirt for P1000.00.

    Thank you!

  39. To Ako Si Maldita / ELM021 on 42K race kit: Condura FAQ says race kit non-refundable, non-transferable. I have mine willing to give away at cost but from the Condura ruling you are likely to end up running under my name. Does this still interest you? Ako Si Maldita pls send me your contact details so I can contact you as well. Tks.
