One of the most awaited international marathon is back! Get a chance to once again run the prestigious Skyway at the upcoming Condura Skyway Marathon 2013! We know your interested to know the details so here it is!

Runners participating in this race will also mean taking part in the Condura Skyway Marathon advocacy of helping with the reforestation of the Mangroves in Zamboanga de Sibugay in partnership with Philippine Tropical Forest Conservation Foundation (PTFCF) . Each runner through their registration, will get to donate three mangrove seedlings which will be planted in his/her name. In 2012, the first year that Condura Skyway Marathon adopted the mangroves reforestation project to its cause, a total of 39,000 seedlings have already been planted in Kabasalan Town through runners’ donation.

    Thanks.
    Nag-register ako Saturday around 2pm. Wave-C yung binigay sa akin. Napansin ko lang pagdating sa haus. Ang alam ko tama lang kasi 250 runners per wave, eh more than 500 na ang nag-register. Kaya lang yung sayo kahapon lang Wave-A pa. Hmmm. ibig sabihin hindi sunod sunod. basta lang dinadampot. Buti na lang hindi Wave-G.

    Any FM runners who had the same experience?

    2:30-3hrs po avg ko sa 21k, ok lng yan run slowly tayo, injury free naman target natin dito, hayaan mo na sa mga kenyan ung premyo, kelangan nila pambili ng gluta pra hnd magkabungguan sa skyway or sa dilim ng kalayaan flyover sa mga next runs hehehe

  17. 42k ndin kau, pra may kasama ako gumapang.. balita ko maangas daw fin shirt eh. pag nakita mo daw prang gusto mo ule tumakbo ng isang round pa ng 42k. worth it ng pagod :)

  23. I personally don’t like the shirt and it’s not the coolest design they ever had.. I would have preferred a simple shirt rather than the current one with obnoxious prints on the side..

  24. i agree i prefer last year design simple logo in front. i think mas cool yung mga dati. more iconic. they should have concentrated towards that series…. ngayon na break…sayang…..sori it’s just my opinion.

  25. Running enthusiasts and wannabes mag esep-esep kau bago mag register. Sa reg fee nito di makatarungan. One of the prominent families of the country ang organizer nito and I hate to say this pero parang they’re taking advantage of “you”. Bakit ang milo kaya magpatakbo ng organized marathon na abot kaya ng kahit sino. The Concepcions can reduce the reg fee by using their companies. Expect next year for more exorbitant reg fees kapag pumatok to. Think the start of the end of running boom in the country if this continues.

    i agree with you. but consider mo nlng cguro magpasara ng skyway for how many hours. i dont know the computations and im just being fair to both sides. i just hope madami cla matulungan na charities/beneficiaries sa maiipong pera. hehe

  28. I agree din regarding sa mataas na Registration Fee but thinking about something else na aside from the Advocacy will not help. I dont really care how much the organizers will get from this Run as long as I will get my money’s worth pagdating sa Freebies, benefits sa health ko, and sa pagtatanim nila ng 3 Mangroves per runner.

    Besides, nagtaas din kasi ng toll ang Skyway. Nagtaas na din ng rate ang mga providers ng Race Equipments. Pati mga fees sa permits, etc. nagtaas na din. Madaming factors kung bakit mahal ang mga Runs ngayon and hindi naman din fault ng organizer. Kung magcocompare naman tayo ng ibang Run eh magkaiba naman ng situation, place, advocay, etc ang mga yun so di rin fair sa organizer ng Condura yun.

    Just my opinion lang naman.

  29. Bakit run for the mangroves uli??? Sana iniba nyo naman, pwede namang kayong magpatakbo uli na ang cause ay para sa mga batang may mga malulubhang sakit, dahil mas kailangan nila ang gumaling at mabuhay ng normal na tao, at di nila kailangan ang mangroves na sinusuportahan nyo, mas kailangan nila ang pagkain, dahil marami sa ating mga kababayan ang nagugutom sa oras ng panganga-ilangan, mas marami pa sigurong matutuwa sa atin kung makikita mong masisigla ang mga batang naglalaro at may ngiti kang nakikita sa kanilang mukha di ba? Meron pa nga kayong run for the dolpins dati, ang mga dolpins kahit pabayaan mo yan kaya nilang mabuhay dahil may talino rin yang mga yan, eh! Ang mga bata kapag napabayaan lalo na kapag may sakit ano ang mangyayari??? Mr. Concepcion opinyon ko lang po ito,,,

  31. 1 mangrove plant is only 18pesos. Wow, d manlang nag subsidized ang conception industries para bumaba ang reg fee pinasagot lahat sa runners. Buti pa milo they subsidized kaya 500 lang ang reg fee.

  32. libre po ang pagtakbo…wala pong pumipilit sa tin na sumali mga ganito kamahal na runs,kung namamahalan po tayo wag na lang po tayo sumali.Tumatakbo din po ako, pero pinipili ko yung mga run na mura lang ang reg. fee or free run like hyundai & ensure.Hirap po ng buhay ngayon, kelangan maging wise po tayo sa pera.

  36. Tama bakit sa mga runners and their friends pa kelangan mangaling ang donation. Dapat tapatan ng organizer ang malilikom na pledges ng mga runners.

  37. Yan ang problema ng ilang mga corporations & organizations. Iyayabang ang advocacy nila at support sa iba’t-ibang causes pero ang pera namang ginagamit sa advocacy nila nanggaling lahat sa ibang tao. Tapos may kita pa. That to me is plain and simple exploitation. At the very least i-match man lang nila (e.g. for every 3 trees donated by runners concepcion industries donate another 3) or better yet donate ALL proceeds (after substracting all expenses) to the cause.

  39. Ako sasali po ako. Kahit mahal (ouch!). Gusto ko lang po kasi tumakbo sa Skyway (for the first time) para maiba naman.

    May pera po kasi ako pambili. Isipin ko na lang na yung pinangbayad ko ay donasyon ko sa advocacy nila at nakapangalan pa sa akin ang mangroves na itatanim. ;)

  40. My 1st Half Mary for this run… For the registration fee, sana may Finisher’s Shirt din… Sana hindi totoo ang humor na walang banana supply ang 21k runners along the route, malaking tulong ang banana…

    21k Finisher’s Shirt po for the Half Mary runners para worth naman po ung fee, also banana for the runner’s benefit along the route…

    Pero I will register and run for this…

    Consider po sana ng Concepcion ung request ng mga Half Mary runners for a Finisher’s Shirt, isang token of achievement po kasi ung representation ng Finisher’s Shirt aside sa automatic medal na makuha ng lahat ng runners…

  43. I join this event coz of several reason like good health, for fun and good advocacy kahit na mahal pa ang registration fee.

    IMHO, sulit po ang reg fee due to the following reasons:
    1. Mahal ang air fare papunta sa Mindanao para itanim ng bawat runner ang mga idodonate na Mangrove trees kaya magbabayad na lang siguro sila ng mga tao na magtatanim duon.
    2. Nakapangalan sa bawat runner ang mga punong itatanim.
    3. Makakatulong yung mga maitatanim na puno sa ating kapaligiran at sa ating kinabukasan. Non-environmentalist cannot understand this issue.
    4. Tsaka, mahal maningil ang Skyway kasi ilang milyong piso din ang mawawala sa kanila sa loob ng 8 o 10 oras na sarado sila.
    5. Libre tumakbo from BGC to Makati to Manila to Pasay anytime of the day unlike sa Skyway bawal tumakbo dun not unless sa event na ito.

  44. Agree reg fee very high, in fact the highest so far. But I would still go for it on the expectation that the organizer lives up to the cause and that event itself would be a great fun in its entirety.Looking forward to seeing you guys there! Seeing you inspires me to run for many reasons.

Give a chance sa organizer, past mistakes are reason to improve in the future diba, malay nyo dito na sa event na to mkkita improvements nila.. :) yung mga hindi kaya ang budget pwd naman sumabay, dun nga lng kau sa ilalim.. well atleast pwd nyong sabihin “I CONQUERED THE SKYWAY UNDERNEATH” hehehee

  48. I want to join, kahit 6k lang (bilang baguhan pa lang ako). Minsan ka lang makatakbo sa Skyway. Kaso malayo. -.- I live all the way in San Mateo (Rizal). I’ll have to figure out first how to get to the venue.

    The most is every 2Km. if ur running 21K or 42K we suggest bring ur own hydration bottle para quick refill na lang.
    Invite ur family and friends to join po.

  53. Last year hydration for 42k mostly tubig lang, few stations w/ energy drink. Ang masaklap pa, mabilis maubusan ng tubig yung mga stations. Better to have your own hydration bottle for long distance (walang tindahan sa skyway in case magkashortage sa hydration).

  55. Registered online last November 16 pa. Up to now race kits are not with me. Bakit ang tagal naman po. My reference numbers are 14200754 and 10600755. Excited lang kasi ako kaya di makantay. :-)

  61. Just reading comments here makes my day. Kaaliw lahat ng opinions. Am not a regular runner, i just support what our Company is supporting like a run for River Pasig, yearly SunPiology run but this time, will try this Event . The reg fee is almost the same with the latest sunpiology run which is 800 for 6k But inclusive of a concert ticket right after the run. I love mangroves trees – haven of fishes. More fish,,more food on the table. Mangroves are awesome sight! Let’s support this run.

    I was at condura last year 21k, wondered why no bananas as well but I believe the reason would be coz the skyway it pretty big and runners don’t always throw their trash in the bins, banana peels on the skyway can be dangerous in sooooo many ways. The 42k runners will have to fight hard to get to the banana station ‘like last year’ duooooon sa pinaka dulo! haha

    and the recovery? the largest demographic running in any category last year I think was the 21k’s so if we all went to the recovery tent, di nila kakayanin accomodate tayo lahat.

    42k shirts… well buti meron na this year last year wala talaga.

    for me okay lang kahit wala… all I wanna do is run the skyway. =)

  66. just registered yesterday for my first 21K… Wave B @ Asics Greenbelt. 2 birds in one stone kami ni hubby… bought our running shoes, got 2 vouchers for free registration sa kahit anong category…

    Kaya if you’re planning to treat your self (13th month pay) by buying a new pair of running shoes and have plans of joining this run, might want to consider Asics.

    Minimum of 5.5K per transaction to get the voucher… =) kita-kits Runners! =)

  68. Kakabili ko lang ng Asics ko, pero nakakatempt talaga itong promo. Imagine, 5,500 minus 1, 850 for 42 km. Parang 3,650 na lang ang Asics? Sobrang mura na yun. Pero still undecided, hahaha… =)

    Mall hours open na ang reg sa Greenbelt. If not then 11am. Kasi nagpunta kami dun ng maaga at maaga din silang nag-accommodate. =)

  83. runnaholic yes. once completed kana sa process nila. it will just take 10-15 minutes or depende sa pila pede ka rin pumili ng size mo kasi they have samples na available. If you want you can purchase items sa asics amounting to 5500 php then libre na voucher mo

  87. Registered online Nov. 21 and until now they haven’t sent me my race kit and shirt. Hmmm this is my 4th time to do this and the first time they’re delayed in sending the kit. :-(

    Sir hintayin niyo lang po ang December 15. Dun sila mag-start ng distribution para sa online registrants. Check also comment #159.

    Local – A courier service fee of P150.00 will be charged on top of the race fees to deliver race kits and shirts anywhere in the Philippines. Delivery starts January 2013. Furthermore, kindly ensure that you or a representative is available to receive your package.

  96. registered today, only about 44 slots left for 42k as of 12noon, as per the staff assisting there, they will no longer extend the registration and once they have the alloted count for 42k category, they may close the registration sooner than expected kaya go, go na 42k runners..nagkakaubusan na..goodluck to us all :)

    “We are down to our last few 42k slots. We will be opening 42k again on Friday.”

    Does that mean after the initial 42K slots have been filled out, a new batch will be opened? That’s good news then for you, marathoners!
