Isip-isip muna, with the way they priced their recent event and the seemingly unlikely anti-ecological use of plastic bags, plastic cups and the meager donation of P50 only allegedly for the cause of the dolphins as their front, runners should consider many things if they’ll support this. We all know that environmentalists discourage the use of plastic materials. And to reiterate, why P50 only for the cause if runners will pay P1,500. Look at Hyundai, they asked nothing but gave a lot for their cause.

Since na i announce na in advance siguro medyo upgrade na pati race bibb, yung me pangalan na kung pwede pati siglet lagyan na rin ng pangalan ng participant para masaya. pero mas masaya kung me discount yung mga this year’s (2011) participant, kahit run for Whale pa yan sasali ako.

Ako, di ko pa rin sasalihan ito. Kahit sa langit umabot ang Skyway, di ko papatulan dahil commercial na commercial ang takbuhang ito. Pagsinalihan ko ‘to, para ko na ring pinabayaan na lokohin ako ng mga taong ginagawang negosyo ang takbuhan at ang inihaharap sa mga tao ay yung mga inosenteng mga dolphins. Pasensiya na, pero irespeto ng ibang runners sana itong opinyon ko na ‘to.

right guys. lets choose wisely what run event to join. we must enjoy running and what we pay for than them enjoying those overpriced/unnecessary registrations fees. ano na bang update sa mga dolphins?:)

at the end of the day, choice niyo pa din yan, again if you don’t want to join, ok, kanya kanya lng yan, and if I join, it dosnt validate your claim na nagpapaloko ako. if they can afford to stage a free run, go, pero I doubt if they can afford having it free sa skyway. it’s just a matter of economics

@Dolphin. Yes it’s a matter of economics, then why use the Skyway which will require runners to shoulder the cost, imputed in the fees? But I agree, it’s a matter of choice, and if you choose to run, that doesn’t mean you allowed yourself to get fooled. It’s just that you contributed in spoiling crooks. Your opinion, my opinion, let’s respect it. Peace, brother.

…based on the discussions here, although I would be joining (again) next year, I reiterate my concern that hopefully some valid issues be appropriately addressed by the organizers… hopefully the organizers are reading our blogs…

absolutely agree ako kay dave. tama na yung isang beses sa condura. wala namang pinag iba sa ibang run. mahal mahal pa. just making use of the worthy cause. in the end, personal benefit pa rin ang true cause. i wont be fooled again. kudos to hyundai. true to their vision and mission. isang korean company pa ang nagpakita ng magandang example.

For a first time runner, this is the event I wanted to try out first. But after reading Dave’s comment, can’t help but think….Reg fee 1,500 and donation to the dolphins’ cause is Php50? wow. that’s really something to think about. I think it should be more if this is a “for a cause” kind of run.

You guys also mentioned about “other concerns”. can you share what those concerns were apart from the use of plastic?

twas a well-organized event,tnx 2 d organizers, that since then, plgi na me sali takbuhan(2-4x/wk), thnking(&hoping) all runs will b like condura’s.

im so looking 4ward 2 run here again,this time 42k. hope by that time, registration fees will b lower and donation to our dear dolphins will b much higher.

If reg fee is really 1500 – this is much more expensive than the Nat Geo run where proceeds will help build a museum.
This 1500 will be good enough for 2 reg fees of another worthy runs.
Paging Concepcions to review your costs so that reg fees will be more affordable to runners while maintaining the objective to preserve our environment/dolphins.

seen their facebook, hndi ba sila maglalagay ng pics nila yung turnover ng proceeds dun sa organization na pagbibigyan nila? since nakapagdaos na ng isang event na for a cause dapat meron silang mailagay na report tungkol dun sa naunang event. kasi sa nababsa ko 1500 reg.fee?! tatlong registration fee na ito sa regular 3k/5k runs.

Sa Organizer prove to those detractors na may nangyayari talaga sa mga publicity nyo tungkol helping the dolphins. Baka nga naman sa bulsa lang ng mga Concepcion mapupunta ang pera eh. Tama si Hector show some videos or Picture your donating the money to the proper people(or NGO’s) for this matter. Parang ndi na magdalawang isip ang mga runners kayo din baka malugi ang event na ito at baka wala ng bumili ng produkto nyo.

Sa lahat po ng comments na nabasa ko, mukhang lalangawin ang event na ito..I’m not a frequent runner but I do run for a cause ,pinipili ko yung organizer at yung beneficiaries..mas masarap paghirapan at bayaran yung alam mong me maayos na patutunguhan yung perang binayad mo..biruin mo magpapagod ka na tumakbo magbabayad ka pa tapos sa iilan lang pala mapupunta ang perang binayad mo..be fair naman po..

for me, this will be my 1st Full Marathon, and the experience is much more important that money,i respect everyone’s opinion and hope that the organizers can read all our comments, who knows baka hatiin nila ang registration this time.

i know there was a press release when they’ve handed over the proceeds to the beneficiary. all i can find is a post that Siliman University “will use the proceeds of the CSM 2011 Run for the Dolphins for a research survey on the Photo Identification of Cetaceans (PICS) and renovation of the Marine Mammal Museum in the said campus”

me tatlong buwan pa naman para pag-ipunan ang registration fee. madami naman alternatibo kung gusto natin tumakbo ng full marathon sa mas murang halaga. pero kung nais natin tumakbo sa ibabaw ng skyway at tumulong sa rehab ng mangroves, wag na mag-dalawang isip pa

Nubayan. Sinuggest pa naman sa TBRDM Program namin na takbuhin ‘tong Condura 21K in prep for our 42K the following month tapos ganyan pala ang sistema nito. Really? 1500 ang reg fee tapos 50pesos lang para sa cause? Wow. Mag LSD nalang ako ng 21K. Libre pa. -_-

This will be my first full marathon… sorry sa ibang runners ha! pero di ko iniisip yong ibabayad ko gusto ko lang patunayan sa sarili ko kung hanggang san ang kaya ko…
Anyway, may kamahalan talaga at mabigat sa bulsa lalo na sa mga pamilyadong tulad ko.

Yun mga sasali dito, either gusto nila makatakbo sa Sky Way or madami sila pera.

Dun ako sa gusto ko tumakbo sa Sky Way. Problema na nila yun kung ano gagawin nila sa reg fee ko. Problema ko na din how to raise funds for the reg fee haha :)

sana magtanim ng mangrove sa may likod o gilid ng moa. balak kasi tambakan at tayuan ng condominium yung bird sanctuary sa may paranaque/las pinas…para may malipatan yung migratory birds.

99% sure na daw na hindi sa BGC ang start and end ng race.

since 2009-2010 na aq sumali dyan sa pagtakbo ng dolphin condura pero nalaman ko na bigla nagmahal registration fee.Ganun lang ka simple hindi na aq sumali…mantakin mo nmn pamasahe mo pagkain mo pa aray ko! sakit sa bulsa…kung kaya ko talaga magbayad ng mahal bakit hindi ko nmn gawin…Paano nmn ang iba gusto tumakbo pero hindi parin kaya…kaya sa iba nalang nagpupuntahan..Dahil doon ang mura at makakatulong kapa sa kapwa mo. pagod at pawis ang pinapaguran namin para lang makatulong.Adios!

whoa.. so many negative feedbacks here.. last Feb Condura was my first 16K.. lets hope that they (Ton Concepcion) hear your sentiments, which are all valid.. it makes me think twice.. anyway i still have until Christmas and New Year to decide.. peace to all and happy running…=)

If you have not done Condura yet, try it to get the experience of running the Skyway. Mahal, pero I do it for the challenge. I will compensate by not racing other runs. I agree that running should be free, but there are routes you will never run. There are people who, obviously rich but not all, race abroad. Mahal kaya pamasahe. But they love to run somewhere different. But they have to pay. Its the love for the sport that make them do that. Sa amin, me Cardiac Hill kami that I would love to climb anew. It’s free. Sama kayo? :-)

I will join the 42k full marathon,sana we can make it!I had cramps in 32k run of Unilab Active Health Leg 3. At any rate, it is a rare opportunity to run in a Skyway!Let us just pray that it will be well organized.May first-timers in 42k will join.

sana magkaroon din ng SLEX marathon…EDSA Magallanes to Calamba City…By my estimation sa google maps parang 42KM sya…grabeh pala ang haba ng isang marathon whew.
The SLEX seems to be never-ending already when you re riding a car. Paano pa kaya kung you’re running?

im kind of disappointed sa time ko 4:40 last qcim because i was trying to finish at around 4:20 din for my 1st 42K, instead 4:40….

so this time, gigil ako for the 2nd 42km, recall ko saan ang mali ko, overtraining, the Milkshake the night before ng race..

Had a bad experience when my wife and I did the full mary this year (2011).

I once heard a rumor that they were considering MOA as starting point. Seems MOA is too expensive hence selecting Filinvest as the venue.

I heard from a friend that works for Hyundai that may free run ulet sila sa 2012. Not sure of the exact date though..

Kahit may kasabay pa to na race sa Feb. 5, 2012, only one race happens sa Skyway. Kung meron kaya mag pa takbo sa Skyway at a cheaper price eh I am sure wala na sasali dito.

Yikes! Medyo mahal ng reg fee mukhang pag-iipunan ko talaga to. But I hope the experience will be worth the price I’ll pay. Planning to run my 1st 21k there and I thought it might be nice to do that there on top of skyway itself.

Yes, medyo exhorbitant nga ang pricing nila ng reg fees but at the end of the day these events still have to profit (albeit this one will look to make a huge margin). We also have to consider the costs that go into organizing these events. Ang sa akin na lang, it’ll be down to their conscience as to how much of the proceeds would ACTUALLY go to the cause they support.
