March is also well known as the time to celebrate women. This month, adidas relaunches and shows us new colorways of their latest addition of the iconic Ultraboost shoes. The pair was initially launched last December 2021 in the color Mauve. It is now available in a truly eye-catching Flash Orange colorway.

The Ultraboost 22 was created by an all-women team for women that provides runners with 4% more forefront energy return than the Ultraboost 2. They have tapped into women-specific insights using an online anatomy database of 1.2 million foot scans, conducted and analyzed by footwear and technology researchers Jura, Zabkar, & Dzeroski (2019) The Ultraboost 22 is tailored to create a 360-degree fit improvement for the female foot.

The re-engineered design is expected to better fit the female form which will provide female runners with the support and energy return to boost their performance, adidas continues its commitment to empowering women through sport. However, there is still a gap when it comes to women’s safety in running that remains to be addressed.

This partnership has allowed customers who purchased the new Ultraboost 22 colorway from the adidas Brand Center to have their pairs customized at the Maker Lab.
