  4. please clarify the buddy 1 + 1 under 25, does that mean na buddy A is 25 and above and buddy B is under 25. pano kung both are over 25? so 1,400 pa rin un?

  20. last year hindi ako nakasali dito. sigurado maraming sasali dito. sana nga makatakbo ng maayos. sigurado na ba na makakaregister na ngayon kasi minsan pag ganitong unang araw ng registration ang sasabihin sa site eh wala pa sa kanilang advise or totally wala pa.

  22. well we can’t really question them on the reg fee as they are the organizers and we are not pushed on joining this. To those who dont have any problem with the fee and just the 10K distance, please join…

    Also mahal din naman sa KOTR yet madami padin sumali diba?? based on apparel quality, NIke and Adidas are both at par.. so why can’t Nike set a bit pricey reg fee.. two of my running shorts are from Nike..

    Pero para sakin, I might need a better reason to join here then just for the run..

  23. Sana they put their REASON kung bakit categories by Age yung RUN at why malaki yung difference ng registration fees so that all the Runner’s know.

  24. nike run 2011 observations:

    nike run was nike walk due to overcrowding.
    free USB was not given after the race.
    baggage counters was disaster.

    nike must improve this year or they will give their brand a bad name!

    cause? based on nike run press release its a running event to promote new nike products lines. in other words its a marketing campaign to boost sales.

    Nike We Run Manila 2012 Organizers must improve this year’s run.

    Last year, it was a nice run, not to mention the nice shirt.

    However, they surprised every one, including moi, when we reached the finish line. NO KITS. Which I believed is part of what every registered runner paid for. And not every one, including moi again, received the PROMISED KIT in the mail.

    And for cause? My two cents is, Nike would still benefit from all this… There would be no Nike Air Max or Air Zoom to indigent children :-)

  32. Its too soon to say if this will be worth paying 1200, kulang pa details. For now, wait and see until satisfied with its offers. Adidas was a good run @1050 (10k). New Balance is just ok at 750 (10k). Hopefully Nike can give out details before NB run, otherwise, kung maganda din lumabas ang NB Run, 2 na ang comparison na shoe brands – mas malaki ang magiging expectations dito sa Nike Run.

  34. Sana matagal palang they show us na yung Design ng Singlet or Shirt, The Finisher Loot Bag and the Medal. So that we know what we expect na makukuha natin and if the money P1,200 is worth for.

    yes nike provided a nice shirt but the run was not brisk walk due to overcrowding. nike did not control the number of registrants and just accepted whoever has the money to pay the reg fee. i believe that nike must hire “proactive” as the organizer who handled the recent adidas king of the road. those who joined adidas got what they paid for. a well organized running event that is worth every peso.

  39. We’re set for CIHM on Dec. 1 and planning pa lang to join the night party, since we’re still considering joining this run. But with these pricing, 60/40 muna kami in favor of CIHM party until we see the final details.

    Be reasonable NIKE… Kailangan nyong bumawi from last year.

  42. First run namin ng mga officemates ko to for NIKE after Natgeo Eartday run and Adidas KOTR. Expensive din ang registration fees pero ayos lang (Sna maganda finishers kit). Hehe. Pero for sure, magpapareg ako dito. :]

  44. I came this day at nike store. need to have buddy runner specially students from affiliated schools from nike like feu, la salle, nu etc para ma avail ang PHP 1,400 for a BUDDY RUN for 2 runners! its not economical kc kung mag registered 1200php for a single racekit.

    the 2011 event had the same mechanic but nobody (afaik) asked why is it so. i guess the reason i see here now is because there is no “buddy fee” for 25 yrs old and above. best is to DM the nike’s fb page and hopefully they would answer back =)

    im keeping my fingers crossed as well. last year, the participants received a premium Nike drifit shirt and a usb stick as a finishers item. the postrace event included bands performing live =)

    This isn’t a run for a cause, surely. ;D

    Mas matipid (at menos sakit-ulo) kasi sa kanila (NIKE) pag one (1) event/category lang. Hindi naman kikita ng malaki kung same lang lahat ang reg fee. So dun sa board meeting nila, napag-kasunduan na ang age limit ang magiging batayan ng reg fees. Mas marami yata ang 25yo and above na registrants. And it would look more appealing sa mga youngsters, kasi mura ng P400. ;p

    Whatever their reason for putting up this event, I don’t really care. Really? Really. Ang gusto ko lang din marinig kagaya ng gusto ng marami ay yung rationale sa edad.

    Mas lalo yatang lumilinaw ang paningin ko sa CIHM… =)

    Nike lover po ako. I usually wear all-Nike gear from cap to shoes. No need to hear, ‘hindi kayo pinipilit sumali’ or ‘join na lang kayo sa iba.’ Sabi nga sa comment #31: But we RUN because we love running. =)

  53. 1st timer sa nike run,excited 2 join maganda kc un design ng shirt base dun sa mga nauna ng country kya sugod agad kanina sa qc.e2 done na w/ the registration, nareceive ko agad un confirmation slip.buti na lng d2 ko sa haws nagregister ang dami kc kanina nakapila.parang mali nga yata un registration dun sa store,iba kc un pinafill up nila,kaya cguro nagtataka un 1 wala pa sya nrreceive na confirmation.regarding dun sa kit sbi nung
    representative ng nike park dri-fit shirt at bottle ang kasama sa race kit tapos finisher shirt pag natapos mo un race within 2 1/2 hrs. un lng baka maging alay lakad dahil sa dami ng participants kaya cguro ginawa nilang 2 1/2 hrs un cut-off time. hehehe d ko lang sure kung tama un sa finisher’s shirt kc wla pa nakalagay dun sa site.

  61. bkit nmn kya gnun ung fee based on age? pare-pareho lng nmn ang distance n tatakbuhin which is 10k tpos sobrang laki p ng difference s price (a matter of P400). Ok lng sna mas mataas fee pero ibng distance kso preho lng. (just wondering)… Sna may buddy din ung age 25 and up pra makamura nmn kht papano.

  68. Nike is known to give shitty races, from registration chaos to empty promises of finishers kit. I have not yet received my USB. It’s a good thing we are already registered for the Singapore Marathon on that date. After that bad race, I’ve never bought a nike product. NEVER!

    Gusto ko lang malaman kung yung 25 Y.O. & ABOVE ay mas maganda yung makukuha gaya sa Dri fit Shirt at sa finisher Kit kesa sa UNDER 25 Y.O.? E kung parehas lang naman ang makukuha nilang Dri fit Shirt at Finisher Kit bakit hinde pa nila pinarehas yung REG FEE?

    Kung this RUN is for PROMOTION for their New Product dapat nga mas mababa pa yung REG FEE o hinde kaya FREE na yung REG FREE.

    They started the Registration pero until now hinde pa Malinaw kung ano ano yung mga RACE KIT at FINISHER KIT. Sana 1 month before the start of the REGISTRATION nilabas na nila yung RACE KIT at FINISHER KIT para naman alam na kaagad ng mga Runners dito yung mga details.

  72. i checked the reg site at glorietta 4 earlier. i asked the booth personnel what’s inside the race kit. she just mentioned 3 items.

    dri fit race shirt – not available as of 1pm manila
    water bottle – different color daw
    at

    there will be a finisher’s shirt – same design as the dri fit but fabric is cotton. instead of selling the run manila shirt, they will be giving it away.

    i was not able to ask whether the shirt is included in the race kit upon claiming or it will be given at the finish line (kagulo to sa sizing at availability ng finisher’s shirt)

    hindi ko din natanong kung nike cotton or regular bulk cotton shirts ang gagamitin..

  74. In a proper perspective, I think yung 25 and under category ay mga estudyante ang target. Kasi dun sa FAQ’s na nabasa ko, very much welcome ang mga school to participate, in fact may prize nga for getting the most number of students.

    At dun na rin sa fees kukunin yung prizes to be given away for the top runners. Take note na mas malaki ang prizes sa under 25 than over 25.

    But then, sana ginawa na lang nila na ang students in particular ang P800, tapos yung the rest ay P1,200. Mas madaling intindihin yun. Di ba ganun ang ibang race events, giving discounts to students (e.g., Milo).

    OK, I got over it na. =)

    I guess pass na talaga ako dito. Not because of the aforementioned, but because of event uncertainties on the day itself, based on feedback. =(

    But hey, good luck to those who joined and who will be joining! Hope you all have a better run! Just do it!

  75. May nakausap ako na student last yr, na sumali…
    Yung regular na reg. fee ng Nike, mas binabaan pa nila para lang siguro makasali mga students hehehe. I don’t know if binabaan talaga ng Nike, or yung school nila ang nag shoulder nung half. mga a week before yung announcement.

    mas binigyan ng emphasis ang concert kaysa run. promised give-aways was not delivered (USB). puro lakad. treacherous ang route dahil madilim. kulang hydration.

    I’m a Nike user. Pero you should all think twice about their sponsored runs.

    may nakuha pala ako na give-aways (bond paper size poster na gusot, at letter of apology) PANALO!

  82. I went to register last night at BGC and sabi nila, you will receive the race kit on Nov 11 onwards. They will just email you the confirmation slip that you are registered.

  84. I like Nike gears pero yun fun run nila sa experience ng sumali last year chaotic and shitty daw! bummer esep esep muna ako parang 7-eleven ang mangyayari dito bwehehehe

For the Nike We Run Seoul… Reg fee translates to roughly about the same amount for the Phl leg (1200)… The kit includes the shirt… A token of your choice (I chose an armband for iphone) while 10% (or 20%) of the fee is donated to charity… also… The registration for 30,000 runners lasted for all of 7 minutes… Although there is no info for a finisher shirt but races here usually do not provide that…

    Just sharing… But if I can be in Manila for this race… I’ll surely be joining this run… I like shirts that has “Manila” or “Philippines” on it…

  86. I was one of the runners who joined Nike We Run Manila last year, and this I’d say, that was the worst running event I’ve attended. ever. And it was bad for a number of reasons, 1) it was a night run + it was held in a liblib na lugar in the Fort = not a very good idea 2) It was obviously minadali of an event, biglaan ang announcement nung run then biglaan din naubos ang slots – I think it was meant to compete with KOTR then? 3) There were just too many runners and the organizers did not even let the runners start by waves. 4) The baggage counter was not strategically placed and sobrang dilim so it was chaotic – it took me an hour before I was able to claim my bag. 5) And the USB that they’ve promised at the finish line took almost a year before we were able to get it.

    Anyway, I digress, I think the organizer will do a very good job this year and it’ll be a morning event (after their last year’s event, I’ve swore off night runs since then). Too bad I won’t be able to take part because I’m not under 25 y/o anymore and I’m not willing to shell off 1.4K for a 10Km run being held in one of the usual venues here in Manila

  91. I was planning to join this event but after reading all the comments above, I’m not so sure now. I have two concerns: the distance which is only 10k and the price. For that distance, PHP 1,200 is so expensive! Another thing is the buddy 1+1, why offer it for under 25 only? I hope this run goes well.

  93. I’m sure na makakasali na ako dito. Last year hindi ko pwede, but to make sure nag clear ako ng schedule from work to join that anticipated race. Kakayanin p[a rin kaya ng MOA ang libu-libong taong tatakbo for that event? I mean last year ipinakita sa mga news na hindi naman naging race ang event kasi marami talagang tao at siksikan. No wonder maging walk-a-thon ulit ito. I need to prepare my things for this baka makalimutan ko na naman like my last race. Nakalimutan ko kasi yung Therapy Water bottle ko,agaw-eksena nga itong bottle na ito during my last race.   96. Hindi kaya ayaw nila sa matatanda, kaya tinaasan ang fee sa atin mga over-25?

    Para nga naman it would look pleasant on AVP/TVC na mga cool, hip and young ang Nike runners. ;p

    Parang sa Japan, if you’re a gal and you’re over 18, you’re considered OLD. You know what I’m saying. ;)

  97. Dapat on the spot n lang nila ibigay yung singlet para hindi nman kami mahirapan sa pag claim ng Singlet kung sakali, hassle kasi yun kung pipila pa ng mahaba at a given date and place para lang sa pagclaim ng Singlet…
