No point of comparison as this was my first run, All I can say is – ANG KATI NG SHIRT
NATGEO…ITS RUN FOR A COST…not run for a cause. 21k runners wala man lang energy drinks. its really disappointing.
WORST EVER UNFUN RUN…
never will i register for eventking! bow

Reading on the comments, mkhang mas worst pa ang Nat Geo run.
It was fortunate that I got a free race kit from my friend. But it was surprising how his complaints from last year happened again. The Event King always organizes expensive run.Expensive runs are just okay if it address the runner’s basic needs. However, from this perspective? The organizer fail to deliver good result.HYDRATION has to be prioritized all the time.Forget all about freebies (loot bags, snack bars and alike) and post race activities. What matters most is the RUNNER’S NUTRITION.Modesty aside I have ran different races including full marathon. But I never thought that an International name like National Geographic will have this poor quality of race.Don’t you know that if a runner fails to rehydrate as he sweats including electrolytes, dehydration can lead to fatal condition and even death.Do not wait for a single casualty like death of a runner happens in your race.Wag naman sana kayo mag kuripot sa electrolyte..your staff should be AWARE of our basic needs. It was so funny how an old guy said to me-“Wala kami electrolyte sir! electricity meron pa!” sarcastically after I finished the race.Being an edcated runner I didn’t bully him, but instead told him “Ah okay! Wala pa lng electrolyte! Try mong tumakbo ng 21km! Or puede din full marathon with me..tignan ko kung sino sa atin ang kailangan ng electricity to go farther distance” then tumahimik siya.In short, wag mag organize ng races kung di alam ang ABC or 101 of running!

we didnt joined netgeo run coz we’ve learned our lesson from last year event. we run 21k and after crossing the finish line they only gave a bottled water. malaki kc expectation ng tao kc mahal ang reg fees. anyway enjoy namn kc sa TNF kme nag run!
seriously? galit pa si Jud Turcuatro sa mga runners, nag-apologize kay mother nature pero he was rude to the runners… nxt year daw bumbero na ang water station nila… read more here https://sowhatsnews.wordpress.com/2012/04/23/natgeo-run-organizer-apologizes-sets-next-years-run-on-smokey-mountain/
D n problems ng mga runners yan,. Part n ng ORGANIZER yan,. Karma s knila yan. Nxt yr. Kng ssalihan p cla.
Are they being funny or sarcastic?
“We are planning to change the venue for NatGeo Earth Run 2013. We are still deciding whether to hold it in Smokey Mountain or in Payatas,” revealed Turcuatico. “This way, participants CAN throw the cups and bottles anywhere along the way.” He also mentioned that they would be using biodegradable materials for the cups, bottles and even the singlets.
Biodegradable singlets?? Paper cups are biodegradable; it’s just that there weren’t any trash bins around that’s why people threw it in the streets.
Payatas at Smokey Mountain kayo dyan!
Wow Jud Torcuatico really threw all the runners under the bus. After all the millions they gave to his bank account. Typical matapobre company owner hayys. I guess he’s never seen how Runrio does things.
grabe naman yun… I think we should address a letter to natgeo for proper action.. mejo foul naman ata yung mga binatawan niya
I think a formal letter to NatGeo should be sent to properly address this… parang ang runners pa ang mali….
RUNNING DEAD :
Awesome Buffet after the race
Php 750.00 5K
Wala na …… nga-nga na!
Score : 1/10
It’s called satire, folks….
sorry mother earth… i was one of those who threw cups on the ground… im sorry that the money i paid was NOT enough to pay someone to pick it up…
This run is not what I expected! Compared from what I heard last year, this run is the worst… Worst run ever. The route I believed is not well planned, no power drink and/or banana for the runners, no finisher’s shirt, no goodies, the shirt quality compared to last year was kinnda bad, THE WORST OF ALL THE REGISTRATION IS EXPENSIVE with nothing to show for… Anyway, the good thing is I got to RUN, that account for something! I may think twice to join you next year if no improvement will be taken…
how come we don’t see pictures of those who collected the cups then throwing to the trash bags??? it’s so easy to blame a runner for the mess… if NatGeo cannot come up KM markers, put up a sign that says “CLEAN AS YOU GO” … so much for scums coming up with a big scam… keep on running!
As I was leaving BGC, I saw people sweeping up the cups and disposing it in the trash bags. So this brouhaha is much ado about nothing.
Is it so wrong for runners to toss their empty cups onto the street? I’d love to hear your comments.
Siguro sisihin natin ung organizer since ang nat geo kumuha ng bigating eventking este king pa ibig sabihin hari ng kapalpakan.now we know the event king how they organize this kind of running pag eventking alam na!
For everyone’s convenience:
“We wont be serving drinks in cups or bottles to the runners anymore. Instead, we would be cooperating with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Association of Philippine Volunteer Fire Brigades to provide us with fire trucks,” he revealed. Said fire trucks would be stationed along predetermined points in the race and would pump waters to runners who are thirsty and in need of replenishing. Participants just have to raise their hands and open their mouths before passing by the ‘watering stations’ to indicate their need to be replenished.
wow grabe ah sa tingin nila iinumin ng runners galing s fire truck…wow grabe
i ran 21km!! i didnt saw even 1 trash can along the way,, so mr. turtuatitico where will i put my paper cups? shame on you blaming runners who paid their hard earned money on your overpriced money generating run!!
maybe NatGeo could’ve offered 50% off the registration for runners who were willing to START AT THE BACK END, and PICK UP EVERY USED CUP UP TO THE FINISH LINE!! i am so sure hundreds (if not a thousand) will be willing to give up their PRs and support this move… you only have about 10 water stations to clean and you do not need plenty of marshalls or manpower to clean up the roads!!!! somebody give me a HELL YEAH..!
make your comment as short as possible. long comment such as yours takes too much time to make a point!
@natgeo and eventking:
natgeo run pictures of cups all over the road were featured at channel 11 news anchored by jessica soho last night.
good work natgeo and eventking! your so-called run for a cause or must we say cost was broadcast to the millions of pinoys.
WHAT A SHAME!
dami mo namang sinabi, pwede namang maikli lang to get your point across! kaloka

Hi Guys! Photos of NatGeo 2012…
Worst run event that I have ever attended!
1st and last.. Traumatic ang distance ng hydration area..
memorable 21k debut of my wife and siblings
no km markers, congested water tables, no freebies, not worth P1150,
A “sincere” apology would be nice.
Unless di ka talaga magaling magplano which is inamin mo naman.
not a money’s worth event. I like the trial though but I’m expecting more since Nat Geo is one of the most expensive registration. Comparing this to Earth run which is cheaper, they we’re at least able to give something for all runners.
for me this will be my first and last to join Nat Geo. not worth it. buti pa yung iba na nakatulong ka na, may something ka pa like finisher’s shirt or eco bags. and hindi masyadong expensive
what a shame to put the blame on the runners… in case you forgot sir, the people you are blaming are the ones who paid to stage your over priced event…
@comment 130: i think you got that from the SATIRICAL website ‘so what’s news’ :)
3K – 3000 X P 650.00 = P1,950,000.00
5K – 3000 X 750.00 = 2,250,000.00
10K – 2500 X 950.00 = 2,375,000.00
21K – 1500 X 1,150.00 = 1,725,000.00
San kaya mapupunta to?
THE EASIEST WAY TO GET RICH: ORGANIZE AN OVERPRICED FUN RUN!
GETS NIYO BA??? Masyado kasing nagpapaniwala agad e!
The statement of FIC is so rude, if the event organizer they have choosen do have brains they would be putting up sufficient trash can along the hydration stations plus to emphasize more on the insult he said that they would do the next year run at smokey mountain, no body cares any more because year after year the number of participants are getting fewer because of over pricing and stupidity of both organizing company and the presentor of the event. FIV run with RUNRIO was far better and the money that we paid for is much more worth it compare to this kingevent or whatever is the name of the organizing company who over prize everything but the result is nothing, everything is useless. now if the natgeo would like to say more about what happend they should better think of who made a mistake and to whom it should be blame should it be to the runners of to the organizer they choose who is USELESS AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hehe… satire… damn… still, this run sucked…
Servinio reviews the NatGeo Earth Day 2012:
Para sa akin negative ang NatGeo noong last april 2012.
Yes dissapointed din ako sa NATGEO run..kase akala ko since international I was expecting more..mas maganda kesa ibang run…aside from kulang sila sa mga signs if ilang km na natakbo mo…yong water station nila ang layo..masyado tipid. and unlike sa ibang running event..marami mga pictures kuha ng organizer to be publish few days after the event..but why until now wala pa…?????? or wala talaga sila mga free pictures na kinuha..masyado ng commercialized ng organizer…I WILL NEVER RUN AGAIN …. EVEN SA RUNNING KIT WALA SINABI SA CHEVROLET RUN….SOBRA MADAYA ANG NATGEO ORGANIZER…HINDI SULIT . SAYANG. i SPENT MORE DAHIL LUMUWAS PA AKO FROM NAGA CITY TAPOS DI MAN LANG WORTH YONG NA EXPERIENCED KO SA NATGEO RUN…
