As early as now, Adidas has already scheduled the Adidas King of the Road (KOTR) 2011 on October 23, 2011 with …. as a new venue! I guess with the expected increase of runners, it would be impossible to fit everyone in running locations in Manila. This should be interesting, so save the Date!

Edited, I was informed that SUBIC will not be the venue for KOTR 2011, let’s just stay tuned for the formal announcement.

  1. Either they haven’t received honest feedbacks from their previous race, or they did but they just don’t care at all. Tsk.

  2. If they are pushing for Subic and given the high registration fee they charge, I hope Adidas would consider providing participants a bus ride to Subic and back.

  3. Didnt they announce in the program after the run, that the venue of KOTR 2011 will be in Roxas blvd, then culminating in MOA..? It was announced by the Marketing Manager of adidas..

  4. Here are some of my suggestions for next year KOTR:
    1. Improve the quality of fabric and color of singlets. It can be white, blue, orange or yellow again but not black and dark blue which are not helpful to motorists in sighting runners in the dark. Consider reflectorized materials on the design.
    2. Increase the number of hydration stations specially on the last 5 kilometers of the 21K.
    3. Increase the number of registration areas.
    4. Reduce the cost, if possible, bring it down to P600.
    5. Schedule an early registration date, say at least 3 months before the actual race date, while the registration centers should also have samples of the singlets with varying sizes. In this manner, you can already determine the actual sizes and the number of participants perhaps would contribute to budgetting and planning. On the same registration site, post the names of registrants who will claim their respective singlets with sizes previously chosen.
    6. Balance the idea of commercializing the event and doing it for a cause. Proceeds should at least help the national running contingents to Asian Games or SEA Games or other international competitions.

Lastly, pls announce the venue soon and don’t let us play the guessing game.

  5. i agree with @rotech… orange will be good..i dont have that color yet in my singlet collections. then, have RunRio organize it… pero i doubt, kasi Nike ang partner nila.

  6. tibay ng adidas, ang aga nag-announce considering palpak ang KOTR 2010. sana madala na tayo, their cost of registration can used for registration in at least two runs. for sure naman higher than P850 yan.

  7. Kong hindi metro manila ang venue of KOTR, marami ang hindi makakasali kc ang layo ng venue. Pwedi naman na dalawang batch of runners just like the Unilab2. Sana organize nila ang race ng mas maayos at d mahal ang registration.

  8. sad to hear that smurfy… lets give the KONT organizers another chance.. hoping they will doing great job, this time:)
any news about he venue? can my son join the race?his 14 yrs old.

  9. not impressed with the free run (or they so called the advanced registration). you need to purchase before you can register… disappointing…

  10. Did you guys know that RunRio will be organizing this years event?

Sigurado na magiging mas okei ito kesa last year.

I ran last year. I didn’t think it was that bad…Mahal lang talaga but heck…

  11. i’m willing to pay extra charges…
    i don’t have a credit card, but i have
    cash…

please accept cash payments, so you can have more runners to register on this race!

i don’t care about the negative comments
that was by other runners last year…

i just want the singlet design,
    for my 2011 singlet collection…

and i also want to add a medal
    in my medal inventory… ^_^

  12. just curious: how c0me nging failed ang kotr last yr? In what way? I just run 10k last yr and i dnt knw d turnout of 21k.. I agree, ths is 0ne of the m0st expensive races to be dated so far!

  13. a lot of runners would like to join this race kaya lang marami masyadong dapat gawin para lang makapagregister at babalikan mo para makuha singlet mo… can you make it easier for the runners… open a booth sa mall… pagkabayad ng runner , pwede ng makuha singlet niya….simple lang at cash… hope you would consider this… t y

  14. Kapag hindi namin na feel ang pagiging KING and Queen of the Road this time! humanda kayo samin! It is your promise to let us feel that we were King of the Road.. Let us see!!!
(Tapos mag-aagawan sa energy drink… Just like what happened at NBA Fit Run, my worst run, hahaha)
