SUNSCREEN 101: 6 Tips You Should Know this Summer

#1 Make sure you pick a sunscreen with at least SPF 30+ which can protect you from 97% of UVB rays when applied correctly.
#2 Did you know that normal sunscreen only protects you from skin burning UVB but not skin aging UVA rays? For total protection, look for the ‘broad spectrum’ label.
#3 For maximum sun protection, apply generously.
#4 For optimal sun protection, apply sunscreen 30 minutes before sun exposure.
#5 When swimming or sweating, it’s best to re-apply sunscreen every 40 minutes to prevent sunburn.
#6 SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor, buying twice the SPF does not mean it protects twice as much, but go for at least SPF 30+ to be safe.
