Mandaluyong City Sets New Guinness World Record For Largest Zumba Class

Mandaluyong City now holds the Guinness World record form the largest Zumba class held in a single venue.

The record was achieved when 12,975 participants in bright yellow shirts gathered on the streets of Martinez and Nueve de Pebrero Streets in Mandaluyong and danced continuously for 30 minutes. This surpasses the previous record which was achieved by Cebuzin of Cebu in 2014 with 8,232 participants.

According to Mandaluyong Mayor Benhur Abalos, this new record would help promote the local government’s campaign for a healthy lifestyle.

Zumba is a dance fitness program created by the Colombian dancer and choreographer Beto Perez. It involves different dance and aerobic elements like hip-hop, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo, as well as squats and lunges.
