  2. I was looking forward to this event. However, when I read the details particularly on the registration I was somehow turned off particularly on the prepaid card. I’m having second thoughts in joining this event.

  4. I successfully registered online without a prepaid card, used my paypal account. Now problem ko na lang ang pagclaim ng kit…..
    Cant help it, I’m just such a running addict that I cant resist registering for the 25k distance.

  5. this seems to be ok, but then wondering why does race kit need to be claimed on different date?? same with rexona run though I already registered for that run. I find it hassle, lalo na my work at ang layo pa ng panggagalingan ko.

  15. I asked my friend to register for me sa NB Robinson’s Place Manila just now. He paid P950.00 and was given this prepaid card. Sabi i-register daw online that card. Then get this: he was informed that 25K runners ang claim daw ng race kits ay ONE HOUR BEFORE GUNSTART. What the…?!?

    Nov 8 for 10K runners daw. Nov 9 for 16K. So my fellow 25K runners sa run event pa raw ang claim.

    Coach Rio and organizers – please lang. Clarify this. If this info is true, ngayon pa lang e na-highblood na ako.

    • hala totoo ba yan ang hirap naman nyan hehe sana man lang ginawang a week before the run un kuhaan ng racekit ang hassle kasi taz iba iba pa un date per race category for sure riot to lalo na sa mga 25km runner an hour before the run wow haha goodluck na lang.

      • ay uu nga pala… hehehe sowee pow ^___^ pero alam nmn natin kung sino yung kulot na tinutukoy ko dba… sya lang nmn sikat na kulot sa Running community…. sya lang nmn yung kulot na ang daming alam tungkol sa mga pausong innovation sa Running events na kung minsan eh MASYADONG HASSLE na ang ginagawa nya sa mga Runners, kumita lang… hay nako!

        anyways good luck na lang po sa mga tatakbo dito… maganda po itong event infernes nmn sa NB, pero para sakin na taga probinsya pa, hindi na convenient tong bagong pauso nilang to… medyo kinakabahan na nga ako para sa Condura 2014… sya na rin ata yung organizer eh… sana lang po wag nyo na i-adapt tong registration and kit claiming procedures na to… hindi lahat ng Runners eh taga BGC! na any monument pwede makapunta jan para lang sa race kit….

  17. Nakakainis naka-set na utak ko na P750 ang babayaran ko para sa 10K tapos biglang may web admin pa? Hassle na nga ang buong proseso ng pag-reg dito tas ganito pa? Hindi nakakatuwa!

    Buti pa ‘yung last year eh nakuha na agad ‘yung race kit kung saang store ka nag-reg. Eh sa ganito, what, kailangan mo pang mag-online, mag-fill out ng form, tapos pagbabayarin ka pa ng extra kahit bayad ka na! Tapos papupuntahin ka pa sa lugar na out of the way para sa race kit. Hay nako! Napasali lang ako dahil natuwa naman ako sa Power Run last year. Okay na nga akong i-try ‘yung ganitong proseso eh, pero nainis lang talaga ako dahil wala man lang pasabi tungkol sa web admin fee! Paano na lang ‘yung mga bumili ng prepaid card sa NB store na walang PayPal o credit card?

    Kapag next year ganito ulit ang proseso ayoko na sumali!

  26. Bumili ako ng sapatos kanina sa New Balance sa Robinson’s Ermita. Open na pala ang in-store registration dun. kaya ayun, sumabay na rin ako ng registration. 950 for 25K. yung card ay gagamtin para sa pagregister sa runrio.com

Nagregister na kc ako online for 25k thru paypal and they didnt send any notice na same day ang kitclaiming for 25k, wala din sa page ng NB power run.. dapat talaga nila iclarrify yung details ng kit claiming.. tsk! Magpapaclaim lng din kc sana ako…

    ps. i think BS talaga ang admin fee, tayo na nga nag process ng registration, meaning they need not additional manpower for on-site reg so dapat wala na tong admin fee

  45. Well, this is what probably happens pag madaming events ang isang organizer. akalain mo halos every month meron sila. Let’s see….. Battle of the Sexes September. RUPM and Rexona and Safeguard/2Xu October. New Balance November. Nike Run and Safeguard Ultramarathon December. Halos lahat ng buwan pinakyaw. Kaya ang proceso sa registration magulo, kasi madaming gagawin sa lahat ng buwan. HAY NAKU RUNRIO! Kung di pa kayo ma awardan na SUPERBRANDS o NOBEL PEACE PRIZE nyan ewan ko na lang…

  46. registered online, pwede naman palang walang prepaid card, basta may credit card or paypal. click nyo lang po yung continue na button kapag hiningi yung prepaid card code and re-enter prepaid card code/number. parang yung sa rexona registration process, walang prepaid card.

    I always thought that ONLINE registration is the way to go in terms of convenience. Ngayon pinagsama na lahat talaga ang MONEY, TIME, EFFORT, and HASSLE.

    This past few weeks, nag-iiba na ang paningin ko. I think I’d rather play basketball and other sports on weekends. Running will now take a backseat and shall serve as maintenance exercise during weekdays na lang for me.

    It’s sad, but I feel na nawawalan na ako ng gana mag-join sa race events. Libre naman kasi diyan sa tabi-tabi. =)

  49. puro negative aura ang atmosphere ng mga comments. pass na lang ako muna. mukhang madugo este magulo ito hanggat di nasasagot ng malinaw ang mga queries/concerns ng mga runners…

    check ko nga sa mismong web ni runrio kung mas malinaw ang mga detalye…

  52. Good am runners. the 50 pesos charge ay para sa on-line registration fee lang. Kung in-store ka and need mo i-register yung prepaid card, do not put thick mark sa web fee. You can edit your registration dahil naka save ito sa data base ng WEB, so kung nagkamali, edit lang.

    For the race kit claiming, all run category can claim in any dates as indicated in the poster. Hindi po yun per run category. Take note of the time. So ibig sabihin po, pwede claim sa race day yung kit, Nov 10, 1 hour before race time, all run category. Nagkataon lang na naka tapat sa run category yung race kit claiming.

    Siguruhin nyo lang na maaga kayo dahil baka mahaba pila sa race day. But I’m sure the organizer will prepare for this.

  56. Ang nakikita ko lang na silbi ng prepaid card na yan ay dagdag hassle. Dapat kung online, lahat ng transactions and registration online din tapos pag onsite, lahat onsite din, hindi yung paikot-ikot. Tapos yung pagclaim ng racekits hassle din. Parang urbanathlon ito ha kaso yung obstacles nasa regsitration hindi sa event itself. I’m sure may mga taga runrio/organizer ang nakakabasa ng mga comments na ito.

    • you can also ask BIR if this hidden charge of P50.00 is subject to tax. hirap nito bayad tayo ng bayad bka d naman sila nata-tax. sila yumayaman tayo naman sobra-sobra ang binabayaran.

      Also, im not sure if fun run of companies like this is considered a promotional activity and whether or not they still need to apply for DTI permit to do so. If yes, maybe the companies were fully aware they need to comply with the requirements. Anyway, inquiry should be made with DTI.

    • Wala kaming pakialam kung madami na ngreg sa 25k. Im sure na mga VIP naman yan eh. Invited yan ng RunRio na tumakbo, mga mayayamang runners na tinatapon lang ang pera ( katulad mo ) saka mga adik na runners na kahit mahirapan sa claiming okay lang, basta merong medal.

    • Ako rin huling takbo ko na ang RUPM. Yong mga susunod na Runrio, nagdadalawang-isip na ako. May ibang organizer pa naman dyan ang mura at maayos na magpatakbo.

  85. Im just wondering why this event is expensive considering that this brand organizer had save much money on free advertisement. Wearing the singlet with there brand name is considered advertisement and people should not pay for it…

    After paying the P950.00 in New Balance Robinson’s Place Manila exactly a week ago, I finally registered my prepaid card online to confirm my registration for this event. Surprise surprise – they didn’t charge the so-called P50.00 web admin fee.

    So, yep, I’m registered for the 25K run and paid only P950.00 IN-STORE. I guess the organizers got flooded with complaints. Also, the dude who answered my call from Runrio said that claiming of race kits will be on Nov. 8 and 9 for all categories.

    I hope everyone who wants to join will be able to register successfully na :)

  88. Kung my nigative coment kayo wag nyo nalang sana sabihin na boycot. Di wag nalang kayo mar reg. hindi naman kayo pinipilit na mag reg. eh bakit ganyan ang mga pinoy no pasaway talaga no erespito nyo nalang patakbo ni rio. kaya sumikat sya sa ginawa nya eh.
