  1. very late gunstart. isa lang carbo loading nasa 14K mark pa.

  3. Its always good to be participating in an event where eventually you know people will be helped.

Bought Pinoyfitness shirt kanina… won me a Puma Watch in the bring me game… How cool is that? :)

  4. I had a great time!! Wala akong reklamo sa late gunstart because (1) late nanaman ako dumating, and (2) I did lots of heat training in the summer.

Good points: good cause, good hydration (lots of water, Pocari, and also the positioning), new route, and of course, bananas!! bilis pa ng results!!

Negatives? Wala akong maisip off the top of my head. haha.

  6. Very good cause and I also end up sponsoring a child which is the highlight of my participation of this fun run. Hydration was enough. And the loot bag was good too…plus the overflowing ice cream was nice.

I would also like to commend on Marc Nelson’s message to sponsor a kid. It was very sincere and heartfelt. I hope a lot of people realized the cause of this event and ended up sponsoring a kid. More power to World Vision.

  7. Congrats to all finishers! great run, great cause. endorser Derek Ramsey could not make it he sent all 65 kids he’s sponsoring to witness the event.
Miriam Quiambao has a new 10K PR. Danica Sotto Pingrie led the countdown for the 5K.
Bearwin ran his nth 21K, Jan Marini had fun on her 3K while hubby Gerard Pizarras and other barefoot runners helped pace blind runner Aga for 21K – historic! delighted to have shared the road with familiar run-friends ;p

Marc Nelson did a splendid hosting stint and had fun during the giveaway game.

Most astig was Coach Rio who ran and supported the event despite his trangkaso, tumakbo ng 21K and placed as 2nd top finisher! Ikaw na coach, the run must go on tlaga – congrats & get well soon!

Kudos World Vision, pep peeps, hydration, all the energetic volunteers/marshalls – hanggang sa next event po.

  8. congrats to all of us runners and participants here. great run, great weather, great people and great cause. pat on the back for the organizers.

astig si Coach Rio na kahit may trangkaso nag-2nd place pa for 21K! he really wanted to support this event. kaya tumakbo pa rin sya. congwats coach!

  9. Had a blast!! First ko to try a 5K run, di na rin ako disappointed sa time ko kc newbie pa lang. i’m so proud of everyone who joined since that was for a good cause. Let’s keep on supporting legit events like this.
I also donated part of my hair to Cuts Against Cancer. Umuwi ako with really short hair. Nice! ♥♥♥

  10. @ms. mars

  11. Share lang po ng experience. Bitter sweet victory kasi, i never thought na ganito. I’m a 21k runner, I admit na wala akong preparations for 2 weeks, then it takes its toll on me, 12km palang bumigay ung tuhod ko!! Shit talaga I thought ma-DNF ako eh, kaso sayang ung medal, ehehe. Thank god s strategy ko eh nakarating ako ng finishline, then when I I reach there I saw the time. WOW! it was 4 mins way ahead of my PR for 21KM! natuwa ako! pero honestly, kahit magpanggap lang sa mga photographer sa FL na kunwari malakas p akong tumatakbo sa finishline, hindi ko na talaga kaya. Un lang, share lang, I never experienced hitting the wall na ganun pa kalayo ung FL but still getting my best PR, Hope you guys had a great time on the run, see you next time.

  12. Si Coach Rio, parang hindi tao. First time ko nakasabay si coach pero bilib talaga ako. Hindi ba may lahing kenyan si coach.. Ehehe.

  13. Guys meron bang nakakita kay Derek the Ultimate Leading man Ramsey sa run? Endorser xa diba? Nakita ko si Madam Miriam Quiambao, still she is so hot! Ask lang po.

  14. @JP
yes nagkita kami ni Sir Bert right after the program na. he had fun sa 21K of course dala nya his signature RP flag just like nung QCIM. at may backpack pa sya when he ran as in hiking porma, hehe.

absent ka ata kahapon sa event?

  15. @BlackPumaRider
wala si Derek Ramsey yday sa run but he sent all 65 kids he is supporting to be part ng event. tuwang-tuwa ang mga bata but of course they missed their Kuya Derek.

Ms.Miriam finished strong with a new 10K PR.she was very happy about it!

    Bib 4226

Pero kung mali ako at talagang nakumpleto yung course, please accept my apologies to runner 4226.

Tried my best, kaso hindi talaga pang PR.

As for the event, ok naman po kumpleto sa marshall, dami tubig at dami pocari.

  17. It was a good run with a good cause.

    just few improvement for Ad-events:

    – no parking of van at the starting line please (it was annoying for 21K runners to have this van na iiwasan after the gun start). It was only when I approached the organizer’s tent at the starting area (before the gunstart of 10K run) that they paid attention to this obstructing van … the lady at their tent was not sensible pa to our complaint of the van obstructing the 10K runners. It was good that the guy had arranged to remove the van right before the 10K gunstart

late gunstart – should have been better kung nasunod ang gun-start as they have indicated in the schedule. 21K runners could have performed better if the race started at exactly 4:45AM

Nevertheless, it was a well-hydrated running event.

We look forward for yearly runs ng World Vision para mas maraming bata ang ma-sponsor for education.

  18. I agree with tryx about the white van who park on the middle of the starting line for 21k,not one of the marshalls or organizer check this van before the start and ask to be removed. This van is the one who suppost to installed an electronic board of UniSilver Time on the starting canopy.

  19. Thanks again everyone for the grand time at the World Vision Run this past weekend. That was a tough one for this 63 yr old body, much more while humping a 16 lb backpack and a 3×5 RP flag. Eventually, would like to increase it to 35 lbs to qualify for the heavy div of the 2013 BMDM marathon in White Sands Missile Range, NM. Anyone that took pics along the route, please send to [email protected]. I’d love to have it posted on our ship’s Pacific Partnership fB. Thanks and much appreciated.

  20. @bert

Congrats po! My friend and I saw you several times along the the first half of the route. We were hoping you finished well since it really looked tough to be running with the backpack and a flag! :)

  21. @monkeysaladeer

Thanks much. I took some Galloway breaks after the 5th mile as my back and upper arms were killing me. I think I did pretty good though @ 15.13 min/mi 3:18:19 (garmin watch). Didn’t see my name on the race results but who cares, I enjoyed the run and now I’m back on the hospital ship in Samar nursing some sore muscles. Will try to do much better next time.

    @jsncruz

Sir, You’re most welcome and it’s a pleasure carrying the RP flag in races I participate in the Phils and abroad. Though, I’m now based in the US since 1970, I’m still proud to be Pinoy. I noticed you too, you were dead stop in the middle of the road to my left and in fact, I returned your salute.

  22. Wonderer – Unfortunately Runningmate never releases the full results. That’s frustrating if you want to see who won the race, or how many runners finished. They only tell you that you got 100th place, but you don’t know if that’s out of 200 runners or 1000.

This was a very nice race despite the heat. My last race in Manila after three years and 65 races. Manila has a great running community, keep it up guys and best of luck in future races!
