Sana man lang gumawa ng club si rio para sa mga madalas pumunta sa event nya at perks ang discount sa mga registration ng mga runs. At sana tangapin din sa registrations ang senior citizen discount cards ng mga runners over 60 years old. Buti pa nung Rescue Run for Sendong. Sumali mom ko at reg niya don e 75 pesos lang instead of the regular 150.

share share tau pag meron kau nakita mga pa-contest ng racekit dito sa run na to… Napanalunan ko lang din yung sa condura ko… Sana swertehin ulit ako dito.

Nakakatawa! Talagang ikumpara daw ang pagtakbo sa presyo ng bilihin, pamasahe at gasolina?

Yung presyo ng bilihin gaya ng pagkain, pamasahe at gasolina ay mga necessities. Magreklamo tayo dahil malaki ang epekto nito sa pang-araw-araw nating buhay.

Pero ang pagtakbo, haller, luho siya at hindi necessity. Kung hindi mo kayang magbayad, hindi ka pinipilit sumali. Hindi ka din mamamatay kung hindi ka sasali sa mga races. Eh di tumakbo ka sa lugar nyo para libre.

Tsaka yung pambili na daw ang P900 ng grocery sa isang linggo, well, hindi ka pinipilit magbayad ng P900 para sumali sa race. Wala ding nakatutok na baril sa ulo mo at pinipilit kang sumali. Kung mas pipiliin mong magbayad ng P900 kesa mag-grocery para sa pamilya mo, eh choice mo na yun pero wag mo isisi kay Rio kasi ikaw naman ang pumili nun.

Tandaan. Walang baril na nakatutok na baril sa ulo mo.

It only goes to show how popular Runrio races have become. Biruin mo, pag tumaas ang presyo ng rubber shoes or t-shirts, hindi umaalma ang mga tao pero pag Runrio races, mega-emote.

Rio deserves what he’s getting. Pinaghirapan nya lahat yan. I’ve joined the earlier races that Rio organized and nakita ko na siya pa yung nagbubuhat ng mga barricades at mga gamit. What is indisputable is Rio leveled up the races here in the country? Yung mga runners na nangangarap na makasali sa Boston marathon pero will never be able to afford it can have the same experience by joining Runrio races at a fraction of a cost.

Sarado na ang 21k!

Rising registration fees is a very sensitive topic indeed. I tried to backtrack and read most posts and saw a lot of emotion, which to certain degree understandable given that money is getting harder and harder to earn these days.

My stand in all these is, so long as you get “your bang for your buck” I’m fine. Well-organized races will incur costs. From venue/course fees, personnel, hydration, logistics, security, down to that cup you threw away in the last hydration station. And those are just the things we see during raceday, meron pa marketing, planning, and a lot of similar things leading to the event still and will inevitably involve MONEY.

Do organizers earn money from running events? Yes they do. At the end of the day that’s how they earn a living. Just like you and me. Kukuha ka ba ng trabaho na break-even lang?

With all due respect to everyone in this community. We all have the freedom to choose which race to join and which race to forego.

I dont mean to impugn on anyone, but reality is reality. You can’t pay for a Toyota and excpect to get a Ferrari.

Upon registration mo naman sa RunRio races may resibo naman kaya covered na yun sa tax ng BIR. Tama nga yung ngcomment sa taas na luxury po yung pagtakbo sa mga race events at hindi po cya necessity. Respeto na lang din tau sa isa’t isa. Kung walang pera or if hindi affordabe pagtakbo pass muna at pag-iipunan ang next race. Kung healthy lifestyle ang gusto nyo, pwede pa naman kayong tumakbo ng libre. Pwede naman po magreklamo, may freedom po tayo pero yung personal na banat kay Coach Rio ay pambabastos na po yun. Tama, negusyo nga yung RunRio. Alam nyo ba kung pano ngsimula si Coach Rio sa pag-organize? Inaangat naman nila ang standards ng run events dito sa Pilipinas. Ayaw nyo ba na aangat ang ating turismo pag may mga international running events na tayo buwan2x? Dapat po tayo magkaisa, the rich and the poor are equal on this sport. Salamat po!

actually, d naman kami nagpapapilit sumali, in fact kaya namin mag p register kung gugustuhin namin. at d rin naman namin kayo pinipiglan sumali its your choice d b? kaya kami nag comment hindi para lang sa sarili namin, cguro kung mayayabang kayo “este” mayayaman at makasaliri, walang paki-alam. The computation above assumes that bib numbers repeats itself for every category (3k,5k,10k,21k each has bib#1) and are not cumulative for all categories (all the runner’s bib numbers are counted together regardless of category). If that is not the case, please correct it.

suggestion lang po pwede bang sa sky way nyo ganapin ang 42km 4leg ng unilab… kasi swabe doon sarap parang di kana maka balik sa finishline… sa lamig, sumakit ang knee, at mga nag cramps.. lahat kasi yan na experience ko sa condura sky way marathon.. suggestion lang po ahhh…. sige sa mga tatakbo good luck sa inyo at sa aming mga hindi tatakbo sa susunod nalang baka ma abot rin namin ang regs sa mga susunod na patakbo ng unilab… hihihihihihihihihi… sana nga coach rio…

I really don’t think there is any wrong in expressing an opinion here whether negative or positive comments. Runners are different. Difference in backgrounds, lifestyles, choices and views. But we are one when we run, no matter how different a runner is to us, we run beside them, feeling the same runner’s high, the same enduring feeling of triumph. These races do help us achieve things we thought impossible before. For the past years, races have been there for many reasons And we run for many reasons also.
I’ve been running for 3 years, trying every race with different race organizers. 2012 races particularly those with Rio’s really made me stop and think. Yes, let us STOP and THINK. It is really expensive guys. But because there is freedom of choice, we sign up because we want to join these races. Those who do decide not to join and express their opinions have a right to do so. Speech is after all, free. I stopped joining Run United since 2011. I believe I can run and join other races that will give me value for money. We have a choice to join any race we want to join. But we should also ask, question organizers, when we know there are reasons to question them. We patronize them so we have a right to ask them the reason for these skyrocketing fees.
But in our end, let us be polite, civil, and educated people here. We are runners. We are not uncivilized people.
And to the organizers, wala kayo kung wala kami. Hear our sentiments.

i myself have questions about the exorbitant fees of the running events nowadays, particularly – RU1 which is on the spotlight. but think about this: getting into running may cost a person a considerable amount of money just for the running gear, plus the registration fees, the cost of going to and from the venue and what-have-you…in essence, it takes someone to spare some cash for all these stuff.

..by the last quarter of 2011, i have already anticipated RU series 2012. and with that, i know that it’s going to cost me an amount that, yeah, i’ve worked hard for. but i spent it anyways on a run like this because it’s something that i have saved up for. it’s something that i was looking forward to despite of the skyrocketing registration fee! if we want something, then perhaps, we can start saving up for it.

..i’ve known some people who are also into running, who content themselves to just run in sports complex, or do some road runs on their spare time. and not spend that much, and also do away with whining about the fees.

..we all have the freedom to express our views, opinions, criticisms, feedbacks — either positively or negatively. and it really depends on how we say them. but let’s all be mindful of the things that we say as they reflect the kind person that we are. we’ve been educated and let’s live up to that. let’s not bark at each other just because we have differing opiniong on a particular issue. opinions are supposed to be expressed, even the negative ones, with respect for other people’s views. if we can just stop bashing and lashing out at each other because it won’t do anyone of us any good at all. it isn’t a win-win situation for anyone of us.

..if you want to run in this event — go ahead. if you don’t, it’s fine. we make our calls..

To andrew lao masyado ata below the belt ang mga sinasabi you mean pag mga 50 pesos to 100 pesos cheap na yun at takbong iskwater so ung mga takbong for the cause takbong iskwater sir mukhang d kaaya aya yang comment mo. Nasa demokrsya tau sir d mo mapipigilan magsalita ang iba kung di sang ayon. Mr pf. Nasan na ung mga guidelines natin para delete itong gantong comment. Sa susunod sir mag suggest ka na lang po ng sa kagaganda ng event.peace!

can we run kahit hindi registered..?Na late akong magparegister kaso wala ng slot for 21k..

kpag may isang negosyante n ngtaas
ng presyo
ng isang produkto
at ito’y tinangkilik ng mga tao,
lhat ng negosyanteng may parehong

2. MAPIGILAN ang MULING PAGTAAS ng FEES

Kung ang dahilan ng pgtaas ng FEES e s additonal expenses, like manpower o race route at pagtaas ng presyo ng mga produktong ginagamit nla s patakbo tulad ng tubig, saging, singlet etc…

Marahil ktanggap-tanggap ang mga ganitong dahilan….

Subalit DAPAT e minimal lng ang pagtas…20-50pesos is enough…pro bket SOBRANG LAKI ITINAAS? pati b nmn ung BINUBULSA nla e TINAAS p?

Hindi nmn KATANGGAP-TANGGAP ang dahilan nla n NALULUGI o ABONADO p cla…s negosyo n planado KAMO e di katanggap-tanggap n nlulugi k…at di magtatagal ang iyong produkto t negosyo kung ikaw ay LAGING LUGI…

ang ISA p gusto kong PUNTUHIN dito….

Bakit ang mga expenses ng 21k runners e pinapapasan s mga 500m, 3k, 5k, 10, runners. Sila n may medal, finisher’s shirt, saging, bus transpo, party nxt yr, lhat yan s 21k runners s difference n 100pesos lng s 10k runners, kya nmn wlang kareklareklamo halos lhat ng 21k, ang bumubuhay s 21k e ang mga registrant ng 500m, 3k, 5k t 10k….pkiayos ng fees nio…n s tingin nio n dapat o sapat n bayad in each category….abusong abuso n cla….

s mga CONCERN runners n tulad q…SALAMAT, s pagpaparating nio ng mgandang hinaing,

s mga walang PAKIALAM…simpre nga nmn win-win labas nio dito, di aprubahan win kau, aprubahan win prin kau….
pero isa lng masasabi q cenio, NAKAKAHIYA kayo!

s anumang klaseng sports, ntututunan nten mging desiplinado s pgkain, pgkilos at higit s lhat e PAKIKISAMA at PAGDADAMAYAN….

Alam mo!!! Lahat ng d tatakbo kaya nilang magbayad ng reg. fee yung iba nga pinag iipunan p kaya cla nakakasali..ayaw lang nila ng ganitong sistema.

d b runner k o nag runner runneran k lang, dapat concern sa kapwa mo runner. Wag k makasarili. Kung baga sa pamilya at part k ng isang pamilya. ibig sabihin e dat dat dat ka!!!!!

sabihin n natin n nagtaas cla dahil may dinagdag cla para mapaganda p yung event, pero d b nila naisip kung magtaas cla reg fee e walang magrere act. bakit d b naging successful yung last year? marami bang naging bad comment? o concern lang kayo sa business nyo? you know business need more income this year, yun b?

Note: ang pagtutol ng ilang mga runner sa tagtaas ng registration fee ay hindi sa pansariling kapakanan kundi para sa lahat na rin ng mananakbo…

nagulat lang ako sa nabasa ko.. hindi pala libre ang mga employees ng unilab, may 100pesos discount lang? khit sarili nilang patakbo ito..? pero bakit ung ibang employees ng mga other products na ineendorse ni Coach RIO ay libre?? hmm..

Does anyone else here thinks we deserve (21k runners at least) some energy gel, post-race meals and post-race leg massage for the amount we’re paying?

@jp comment#591 Agree w/ you na dapat meron but I doubt kung ibibigay iyon. Sa taas ng reg. fee na binayaran nyo dapat meron talaga. Goodluck sa mga tatakbo dito sana worth it yung binayad nyo. Still & will never run runrio races again ’til they lower their reg fees (except Milo of course). Enjoy!

@Andrew Lao#567 – how sure are you na can’t afford ang lahat ng ayaw tumakbo sa event na to?! its a matter of choice and its a matter of wise spending… hindi dahil kontra kami sa mataas na reg fees ay wala na kaming pambayad… napaghahalata tuloy na hindi ka nag iisip?! niloloko na kayo ng marketing strategy ng event na to pero bulag pa rin kayo dahil lang sa pangalan neto.

At yung sinasabi mong wannabess? bakit mabilis ka bang tumakbo? FYI, yung sinasabi mong mga can’t afford, dyan nag galing ang mabibilis na runners dito sa Pilipinas, at dapat pasalamatan natin sila dahil kung tutuusin sila ang ng umpisa ng mga running events dito sa Pilipinas.

may kasamang race bib holder – as if necessary eto sa pag takbo (bakit hindi ginawang optional?)

may free running clinic – as if lahat ng participants ay makaka-attend dito (baki hindi rin ginawang optional?)

may shuttle bus para sa 21k – 21k lang pala eh bakit lahat ng fees tumaas?

race route – may nabago ba? siguro kung sa tagaytay or subic or corregidor yan, ok lang na tumaas or kahit mas mataas pa.

yung sinasabing maraming mga freebies at hydrations, lahat ba ng natatanggap ni Juan eh matatanggap rin ni Perdo? minsan nga yung mga nag-uuwi eh mismong mga tauhan/frnds/family din ng mga event organizers.

kung meron mang bentahe ang event na to siguro yung medal na lang…

anyway, gudluck sa mga tatakbo, be safe and enjoy… ang sa amin lang mga hindi tatakbo, its not a matter of prestige, its a matter of spending wisely, sinasagad na kase nila yung pagiging negosyante nila, and if ever na may maging maganda effects ang aming mga comments, lahat naman tayo ang makikinabang dito.

Ngayong nalaman nyo na hindi naman libre ang Unilab employees, kinukwestiyon nyo pa din. Mga sala sa init, sala sa lamig.

Just because ginagawa ng ibang companies na ilibre ang employees nila sa run doesn’t mean gagayahin na ng Unilab. May sariling isip naman ang Unilab at mga empleyado nito, no? Tsaka goes to show lang na hindi mukhang gahaman ang Unilab. Kahit mismong race nila, willing magbayad ang employees na bukal sa loob nila.
