This year, the goal is to complete the Spartan Race Trifecta Medal here in the Philippines. We (together with some friends) already conquered the Spartan Race SUPER last February and we decided fly to Cebu to earn the 2018 Spartan SPRINT Medal, leaving only the Spartan BEAST which we plan to earn during the Trifecta weekend happening in September.

But with the recent rise of obstacle course racing or OCR, runners are challenged to add variety to their training and incorporate more types of exercises during cross training in order to help them build the skill set needed for an obstacle course race.

Obstacle races are starting to gain popularity these days as endurance athletes are wanting to explore different sports and challenge themselves even more.

Obstacle races are starting to get people’s attention in the fitness world because of how it incorporates running, crawling, and climbing into various types of challenges. To date, Filipino runners and fitness enthusiasts alike are learning the ropes of obstacle racing and they are in fact, becoming part of a fast-growing community.

Spartan Philippines conducted an SGX class along with a get together party where participants from the spartan and fitness community took part in for the soft opening of its Obstacle Course Camp (OCC) last Saturday, December 2 at the Spartan Philippines office at the Roof deck, W Building, BGC.
