Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in all women, with the Philippines registering the highest incidence of breast cancer in Southeast Asia. Risk of death from breast cancer can be lowered through early detection and treatment. “The Pink Run: D’Feeting Breast Cancer” is the primary activity of the PSGS in its advocacy against breast cancer. This annual running event started in 2010 and is aimed at raising public awareness about breast cancer. Its objective is to focus attention on breast cancer during and after the event through educational campaigns, information drives, and lay fora. It is also held to raise funds for the treatment of indigent patients suffering from this dreaded disease and to provide financial help to breast cancer support groups and foundations.
