    • from a friend who tried to register on tarlac.
yep, hndi siya pinayagan magpareg nung wla syang dalang fit-to-run med cert.

  1. Inabangan ko ito ng matagal na! Ang ganda nong last year! Bad trip to.

      • iba po ang test sa fit to work kaysa fit to run.

sa fit to run ang tinetest doon eh

        blood sugar
        potassium
        creatinine
        sodium
        ECG
        blood count

Good luck and see u on the road (feeling close)! :)

  4. bakit nagkaganon, ilang taon na akong tumatakbo sa milo siguro naman pwede na yung waiver na pinipirmahan natin, sana hwag ng dagdagan pa ang gastusin ng mga runners natin..Sir Rio, this will be my 4th year running with Milo 2times a year kaya kung ipapatupad nyo po yung no medical certificate no run siguro maraming di makakatakbo isa na ako. gusto ko sana tumakbo ulet kahit na 62years old na ako w/ sub-5 time finish last year and i want to erase that time this year..at sana meron 20% discount sa mga senior citizens..thanks….

  5. 2 months before ng competition ang medical certificate….. panu kung ngayon pa Lang kukuha so Hindi ka puwede ng sumali

    • WITHIN 2 months ang nakalagay sa rules and regulations. ibig sabihin yun med. cert ay dapat na issue atleast May June July. Earlier than May baka considered PASO na. So ok lang kumuha ng med cert ngaun.

  8. Got an email from runrio and it read: (this is for those who registered before the medical certificate was required)

    Dear Runner,

Thank you for continued patronage of Runrio events!

You can now send your “Fit To Run” medical certificate thru [email protected].

Deadline for submission is until July 12, 2014.

Failure to submit the said requirement will result to disqualification.

    See you on the road!

    • i received the same email too. Inquired to a medical clinic for a med. cert. Need to get lab tests like CBC, ECG, URINALYSIS and XRAY as required by the doctor before giving medical clearance and it cost around P1,500! I guess we need to comply.

    • Anong ilalagay natin sa email aside sa medical certificate? Do we have to include other details such as name? confirmation number? etc etc?

    • I received the same email too… Iba kasi pagkakaintindi ko sa disqualification na yan ito ba e applicable lang sa makikipagcompete? what if cross training lang to at di naman nagaassume ng podium yung runner e since registered na pde pa rin bang tumakbo?

  9. My stand is WAIVER should be enough and NO to Medical Certificate. This is not my first time with Milo and other running events here and abroad, and I must say RunRio and Milo’s sytem this time is PREPOSTEROUS.

    • TAMA!!!! Im also a fanatic runner of MILO but I think this time I won’t able to make it since naka book na flight ko day before MILO Marathon. A little bit consideration naman sana for the old timer marathoner & ultramarathoner & to those really wanted to participate in this event.

  10. HAAAY… Debut ko sana ngayon sa milo Marathon.. kaso may med sert pang nalalaman.. anak naman!! next tym nalang ako sasali.. tsktsk

  11. pwede po kaya yung annual physical (APE) results ng company namin it was taken first week of May? Fit to work is the result.

  13. baka naman pwede waiver nalang 4th year ko na sana for Milo and my debut 42k. sayang i consider Milo as the wimbledon of running here in the Phil. baka di ako makasali bcos of this.

I was really looking forward to joining this as this would be my first time to join a run. Pero if a med cert is needed pa, I think it would be too much of a hassle. Ill just look for other runs na lang. Sayang talaga with what Milo did. :(

  15. Med cert is required. Just deal with it. Nobody is forcing you to run in this event.
If that’s their requirement wala tayong magagawa.
If you want you can boycott the run.
If they’ll have a low turn out of runners because of this then it’s gonna be a lesson for them…
But I doubt na low ang turn out Miski na May added requirement.

    • Even if may medical certificate… it doesnt guarantee your safety sa takbo… yun last time na may nangyari natapos nya ang 42k pero nag collapse so panu mo eexplain din yan sir..

    • For me, medical certificate being required is not the problem. The problem was it was required after some have already registered on-line. TBR also required medical certificate but it was not an issue because it was done in good faith as it was announced prior to registration.

  19. Its not only money that’s a factor, pero the time to go get a med certificate pa and the thought na sila lang naman ang humihingi ng ganito and no other race events ask for this. Eh if you’re joining a 21k or 42k, then syempre you yourself know that you’re fit enough. If you felt you werent fit, then youd probly be joining the 5k or not joining at all.

  20. Aside from having to shell out at least p2,000 for a medical check up, you have to waste half of your day to do all those test and to have a doctor issue you a certification.

It seems I will have to forfeit the P930 I paid to runrio than to incur another p2k-3k expenses and waste half of my day.

It was done in bad faith at least for on-line registrants since there was never a mention of any need for medical certificate when I registered on-line or else I would not have registered. Then after they took my money, they now change the rules.

A very disappointing end to my many years of running in Milo events.

  21. peeps, regardless if its online or instore registration, the med cert is still non negotiable, right?
I just computed the expenses, cost of medical clearance/tests add to the race fee, medyo mahal nga.

  22. MED CERT is for our own safety din naman.
What I love about Milo Marathon is hindi siya money business. Let’s try to look at a BIGGER picture.

    • Sir.. Are you sure it is not money business.. I’ve been attending Milo Marathon for 21K and 42K..

  23. FELLOW RUNNERS BASA!

    IMPORTANT MILO MARATHON ANNOUNCEMENT:

    Dear Runners,

We regret to inform you that our supplier was not able to deliver the singlets of 10k,21k,& 42k as committed. To be sure,we are moving the onsite registration of the said categories on Saturday June 14, 2014.We deeply apologize
    for the inconvenience.

Thank you for understanding.Again, our sincerest apology.

  24. May makukuha ba tayong “CONFIRMATION EMAIL” after natin isend yung MC sa email nila?

  25. I think the med cert is also to your benefit.for you to be able to really confirm that you yourself is really “fit to run”. Running 21K or a 42K need not just mental motivation, but physical as well. I also believe that the organizers also cares for the runners well being. They may have a valid reason in doing this. Again, if we feel that the organizers are unreasonable on their rules and regulations,we might as well not participate.

    • I can understand that bro as I did join TBR before and submitted a medical certificate as part of the requirement, but in the case of Milo it was done in bad faith as there was never any mention of medical certificate during the on-line registration process and it was after a couple of days after registration and payment when we received an email requiring the said certificate. If we knew before hand, we would not have registered. Now runners are being held hostage or else bye bye p930.

  26. why do we need to submit medical certificate for 21k and 42k runner.?.
dba meron namang waiver!and other than that additional budget needed.. at mag gugol pa na oras para lakarin medikal certifate.. hustle..

  29. Medical Certificate are good for everybody.,.+ ..” Registration fee+ Milo 300 Grams + Fares to and from + wishing a Nestle Company can provide doctors to check every registrant that PHYSICALLY FIT to run run…

    • Nestle Philippines is a STRONG BRAND and WELL known for food and beverages……The Organisers, Official must associate RUNNERS/Participants of 38 Milo Marathon to have INSURANCE PROTECTIONS to give everybody a PEACE of MIND. If UNEXPECTED HAPPEN during the MILO EVENTS, they will receive FINANCIAL COMPENSATIONS. You have to support all RUNNERS as we SUPPORT NESTLE ” BUILDING A NATIONS OF CHAMPIONS”

  30. May mga tests pa para ma-issue ang medical certificate, the more tests the more money you pour for the race. Pwedeng refund nalang registration fees namin?

  31. Hmm… Pwede kaya nilang gawin for 1st time runners’ for 21k/42km of their events (Runrio runs and/or Milo Marathon) need tlaga nilang magpakita ng med cert. while yung mga 2nd time or nth time na sasali sa event nila bib number from previous runs nila ang ipakita na proof na ‘fit-to-run’ sila.. What do you thinks?

  32. regarding sa med cert, parang wala ring kwenta na hingin pa iyan ng milo kasi marami rin naman makakakuha ng med cert na “fit to run” kahit di dumaan sa tamang proseso ng mga tests. baka nga yung ibang med cert, basic five lang at physical exam ipagawa ng doctor tapos okay na. eh alam ko kapag ganitong long distance running dapat ina-assess din kung may heart condition ba ang isang pasyente. i believe ecg and treadmill stress test ang dapat pagdaanan para talagang mapatunayan na ang isang runner ay fit to run a half or full mary.

  34. Registered A while ago in MOVE BHS, first I went to SM North, but only available sizes are S and XL for 42k, then I went to RUNNR BGS, but still available sizes are S and 2XL, and lastly I went to MOVE BHS, but still available sizes are S and 2XL, I decided to get the S size because as per the registration marshal, I can go back the next day to check and change my singlet to M size, just a suggestion MILO’s Singlet supplier must always deliver more singlets to any registration centers, reason? so that runners would not get exhausted coming from one site to another site like the ones I’ve experienced a while ago. Anyway, still 70% happy with the registration because I registered fast and less people are registering at MOVE BHS. 42k Registered.

  37. ABOUT THE MEDICAL CERTIFICATE DI NA PO KAILANGAN, DAHIL IT’S YOUR CHOICE, MAY WAIVER NAMAN AT D LIABLE ANG ORGANIZER PAG MAY NANGYARI SA INYO, KAYA MAY WAIVER, KUNG FIT TO RUN NGA EH

  38. Runners, Marathoners, Ultramarathoners and Multi-sports enthusiasts. Though requiring a medical certificate prior a given marathon or long distance event sounds an additional expenses or sounds–“Hey! wait a minute, it isn’t my first time to run a marathon or so..this is my nth time!”. Remember fitness level varies relative to that of your nutrition, response to stimuli, lifestyle and others. The organizer wants to ensure the safety of the event and runners/ participants. Remember that history always reminds us that nobody’s excuse when accident or misfortune happens. Milo from past years even before Run Rio had a record of runner’s death despite their experience and top fitness level. Thus, this requirement is for our welfare as well..stick with the regulation and policy. Then, whatever bad happens to a runner despite these covered policies then that’s the perfect time to complain and ask for logical and legal explanation from the organizer.
P.S. Please Run Rio polish your in-store registration system. Staff aren’t aware of the updates and couldn’t handle queries well. It is so just surprising how an in-store registration allows “reservation” for early birds? No offense meant for early birds in the store and hail to their effort to go their early, I did my own early bird thing as well years ago. But to have limited slots for 42.195km and other registrants in line for their turn remain clueless that these slots would be given to those early bird despite they aren’t physically present. And I couldn’t remember that Milo marathon from past seasons have this kind of “reservation policy”. I even suggest to Run Rio that “If you have limited slots for long distances ..then no reservations, physically present and registrants in-line and 1:1 ratio registrants should be applied”. It is just so irritating that one registrant would register 20 heads or more despite the “limited slot” status. There should be a separate lane of bulk registration—take that of a bank transaction system or grocery line queue. Milo marathon is the big running event in the country, make it world class, make it systematic, make it strict and make it polish if possible. Thank you.

    • akala ko ng una healthy ako.. i run few marathon and couple of ultra… i find out na meron palang problema…mas maganda kung talaga mag under go na procedure or test walang masama dun.. nakatakbo nga tayo ng ultra bakit di pa natin ipacheck up yung katawan natin… After ECG meron nakitang problema kaya need to go 2d echo… mukhang mahal pero para sa runners yun at sa family nila….kung makakakuha tayo ng med cert sa kakilala na doctor o san man.. pag isipan natin… baka ang family din natin ang mag suffer… maganda yung paliwanag ng doc sa akin kaya willing ako mag under go na test para malaman kung talaga meron problema at kung ano ang solution… I already registered online sa 42k.. but once na di ako payagan ng doctor na tumakbo…susundin ko ang payo ng doctor.. tnx

    • tama yan sir.

  39. The reason why Milo required a medical certificate for the 21k & 42k runners is bec. of a pending case filed by the father(Rudy Fuentes) of a deceased runner Remus Fuentes in the 2010 Milo Marathon Eliminations

    Here’s is the post of Mr. Rudy Fuentes from his FB Page ;

    CRIMINAL CASE UPDATE

After almost 3 years of waiting, the Manila Prosecutor has released the resolution of the criminal case I filed against 2 Nestle executives and Milo Marathon organizer. Rudy Biscocho, the Race Director of Milo Marathon has been indicted for the crime of Reckless Imprudence resulting to Homicide in the death of my son, Remus. His case is now forwarded to Metropolitan Trial Court of Manila. While that of the 2 executives were dropped for lack of evidence. I am filing for motion for reconsideration against the two. I truly believe they are liable and I need the chance to prove it in court.

    CIVIL CASE UPDATE

After several pre-trial hearings, finally the trial proper will start on Feb. 21, 2014 and we will start presenting witnesses in court. Eight judicial affidavits were submitted by my side to the court. With the new procedure in court that started this year, the judicial affidavit is question (by lawyer) and answer (by witness) type of affidavit that replaces the direct examination of the witness at witness stand. However, the opposite lawyer can still cross the witness in court. The quest for justice is on.

That is why we all have to understand the predicament that Milo and Nestle is in right now……….

  41. My doctor required me to take ECG, 2D echo and Treadmill Stress Test before giving me my med cert. Good thing all are covered by our company’s health card. But ok na rin at least I know I’m cleared of any heart disease. :)

Hay!

Magastos. Naabala ng 2 days. Pero worth it naman after malaman ko fit to run ako with my present age.

    see u on d road!!!

  46. I registered on line last june 6, lang for 21K for P830.00pesos including delivery charged.

  47. Sana may pwedeng i-download na registration form na yung portion lang ng information and waiver lang yung mapi-print… ayun lang namn kailangan, sayang yung ink and paper.. suggest lang :)

  48. Words of advice aside signing a waiver with Nestle u must also sign a waiver with your doctor so that we should take care of our health until race day!

  50. Guys sinu po nakakalam ng date ng instore reg ng milo race sa lipa batangas at saan po ito kasi tumawag me sa number ng contact person dun sa reg form wala naman not working sana may nakakalam and yung med cert po ba is clearance lang na im good to run? I have health card po kasi fron my company covered kaya yun?
