REMINDERS:

Syempre, mas maraming tatakbo sa 21k compared sa 42k. Chances are, mauubusan talaga ng slots ang 42k runners. Tapos maliit na medal pa naka-assign sa 42k. Ano ba naman yan! Kaya nga “MARATHON” ang tawag dyan e. Dapat ang main event is 42k, hence, bigger or better medal. Mas malaki pa medal ng 21k.

Passed by Riovana-BGC Saturday late afternoon, the first day of in-store registration. It was observed that the expected deluge of customers never occurred and there were sufficient stocks of cards for all race distances and singlet sizes. There was no need to line up.

— It would be better for Filipino runners if race organisers will promote high standards for every “Marathon” event, like getting IAAF or AIMS certifications. I’ve been hearing a lot of local races having shorter routes compared to their exact race route (e.g. 21K, short of 500m or so). This has an effect on the timing as well as for the runner’s PB. Running on IAAF/AIMS certified routes has an advantage when you’d be joining the prestigious World Marathon Majors (Boston, NY, Chicago, Berlin & London). Is this the case for RU races?
I don’t think RU races are IAAF/AIMS certified but based on experience (using Garmin) the distances are usually on the dot

I was interested in joining this but with all this nonsense prepaid card scheme by kulotsky, the hell it with it. I’ll did a diy 21km lsd up and down antipolo instead with sarisari store as my aid station.

Well, that was fast and really sad. Dapat may qualifications na bago sumali sa event na ganito. Para hind kaagad nagkaka-ubusan ng slots. Hindi na din ako sasali kung hindi ko rin naman Makukompleto ung 3 medals. Advantage na kaagad ung maraming pera dito sa mga registration na ganito ang style. Argh.. 7-11pa rin so far ang best run this year, kala ko pa naman contender na ito pero hindi pala. Walang slots tsk!

close na online registration using credit card meron pa online registration using prepaid card. hindi ko maintindihan bakit online registration parin ang gagawin ng mga nagpunta ng riovana. nagpunta ako ng riovana katipunan para magreg pero nadisappoint ako kasi prepaid card lang ang binigay sa akin (at singlet) at kailangan parin magonline. palagi akong onsite registration sa mga run ko (kung may onsite registration). meron akong credit card pero mas gusto ko yung makukuha agad ang singlet, racekit. laking pagbabago sa pagreregister. hindi friendly, pinahihirapan ang mga participants. UNA “time wasting”, nagpunta na nga ng store tapos magoonline pa tapos punta pa ng MOA para sa racekit. PANGALAWA “energy consuming”, pinapagod ang mga participants sa pagpunta kung saan saang lugar para lang macomplete ang pagreg. PANGATLO “not Earth friendly”, ang prepaid card na yan “basura lang yan” pagkatapos gamitin tatapon na.nagputol pa ng puno para lang paggawa ng papel na yan na pagkatapos ay kalat lang. sana online registration nalang lahat (like nike run) para alam ng magrereg na online lang ang registration at walang onsite or hindi na kailangan pang pumunta ng riovana para magreg. sana sa next leg hindi na ganito.

Wow, a lot of people complaining, yet a lot of people have completed their registration without much complaint. I’ve been waiting for this a long time, so I made sure I completed my registration that midnight when the online registration began. I also have work and won’t be able to do an in-store registration. I don’t necessarily agree with buying those prepaid cards, but that’s the way the organizers want to do it, so you just choose the best option on how you register. Running is a survival of the fittest, knowing how and when to register is a survival of the smartest. The organizers cannot please everyone. Opening new slots to accommodate more people would be nice, but where does this end? Just my thoughts … peace!

daig ng maagap ang masipag! first day pa lang ng in store registration pumunta na agad ako kasi alam ko na na magkakaubusan. yung mga kasabayan ko sa riovana sobrang dami yung biniling card. yung iba 20 pcs, yung iba nasa 50 pcs. eto lang yung disadvantage ng card kasi pedeng gawing negosyo ng iba. kaya kapag nagopen agad, gawin nyo na lahat para makapag register lang. kitakits na lang sa RU1!!!

— Shin, that’s the problem with prepaid cards. Yung iba ginagawang negosyo like that one guy selling his 21K slot for 1.2K??? A marathon (half-marathon in this case) is a race, not a stupid business. Pero yang ang nagiging trend na ngayon dito sa Pinas. That’s the reason I haven’t joined any local races after 2010. Other than not having certified race routes eh ginagawa nang milking cows ang mga runners. If I were you, just save those reg fees and try to look for international races with IAAF/AIMS certified routes (if you’re really a serious runner). You can try KL, Bangkok, HK, or SG, visa-free pa naman tayo. Other than you’ll get an international race experience, iba din yung logistics nila, minsan nga mas mura pa ang reg fee nila compared sa local races natin. Oh well, wishing the 21K runners all the best, sana tumakbo hindi alay-lakad. You have to remind yourself it’s a run, a race, a test of endurance. Hindi physical fitness test of how long you can walk just to get that medal and finisher shirt to brag…
Right! kaya ako na enganyo sa trail running, para naman di MOA, BGC or within metro ang routa.
When i ran 32k at HK Standard, walang naglalakad dun. Experienced lahat. Dapat dito sa tin i-less pa yung cut-off ng 1hr or more. DNF kung dnf. Alam naman ng runners na hindi fun run ang 21k pataas, obligado kang tumakbo. Unfair sa mga gustong tumakbo na naubusan ng slot napunta lang sa mga selfie runners.
kaya nga sobrang saya pag naka cutoff ka sa milo 21k. saya ko nun kc un nsa likod ko wala na medal ksalanan na nila un. kng pwede pa nga 2hrs para sobra na challenging ok lalo pati training puspusan. dami din ganyan nung 7/11 mag 5 hrs na di pa tapos. 1 year ako nagpapapayat at nagtraining bago sumali ng 21k , dahil alam ko kng 200 lbs ako di ko deserve magka medal kc may reward agad at di rin mgiging ok ang pace ko.. lahat dapat ng bagay pinagtyatyagaan.
There’s 32K at HK Standard Chartered? There are youtube videos on half and full marathon events the past years where you can see people walking. You should not be “obliged” to run, you make a strategy when to run and when to walk (obviously you haven’t heard of the run-walk method). Yes, it’s not a fun run, but why take something away from those who really want to achieve something for themselves. It’s absurd to think that people register for a 21K or 42K event just to do a selfie.

1. Di na bibili mga Runners sa Sculpters ng Prepaid para sa mas mataas na price.
2. Di sila aabuso at tatawa tawa kasi nga easy money sa kanila (Isipin mo, walang kahirap hirap, tutubo sila)
3. Pag di nila nadispatcha mga cards nila, sila ang lugi and will learned their lessons.
4. Matutuwa mga runners kasi mas maraming makakatakbo.

I am so dis appointed… with your policy.. imagine nung sunday.. pumunta kami sa toby’s sm north.. to think na kakaopen lang registration nyo that time for OTC.. sabi ubos na daw.. and that arrogant staff told us na pwede kaming bumalik anytime kc may delivery ng prepaid for 21k.. tapos fresh from office bumalik ako bumyahe ng napakalayo para sa wala.. and worst is sasagutin ako ng bastos na staff nyo.. na wala dw syang matandaang may sinabi syang bumalik ako.. am I stupid enough na magpakapagod para sa wala.. tell your staff to have some manners.. such a rude people..

Do not buy from sculpters, kahit di na mag-open ang registration. Marami pa namang takbo dyan. If you do, gagawin nila uli yan next time.
i agree. all runners must be united against these scalpers. Not to buy prepaid cards more than P900.
If Unilab will not open registration. Let us run in other races.

Last February 8 (first day of selling ng prepaid cards) I was there sa Riovana BGC, 12:15PM pa lang ang haba na ng pila. Tapos I noticed na ung ibang mga nauna sakin bulks of prepaid cards ang binibili for 21K. I agree na dapat may limit lang ang pagbenta ng cards per person, giving chance to others.
Buti na lang bawal scalpers dito. Mahiya hiya naman kayo! Mas nakakahya mga walkers na inubos 21k slots. Tsk.

Luckily, I was able to buy the prepaid cards (21K) last Monday at around 2:30 PM @ BGC.We weren’t able to register last year because we were late. I hope it will open again for additional slots. This will be our first official run in 2014.

Hindi kaba naging walkers pre? Mag comment ka dun sa mga scalpers na bulto bultong bumili. Pero dun sa mga newbies sa 21k wag mo ng pansinin. Pera nila ginamit nila sa pagregister at nagregister sila ng maaga para makakuha ng slot ng para sakanila lang, hindi para ibenta ng mahal sa iba. Gets?
You could have spared all the angst in the world had you registered online. Online registration was open days before the in store registration.
You complain about slots running out too fast? Try registering to Chicago or Berlin Marathon where slots run out in hours.

Sorry sa word na ito Its looks like may sindikato sa RU1 in two days ubos agad ang prepaid card for 21k oh common..ni minsan di lahat ganun kadami ng tao maiicip mgregistered agad lalo na sa nghihintay ng sahod nila….tingin ko na hoards ang mga card slot nato…parang ganito scenario imagine or assuming may isang tao bumili ng 100 prepaid cards or more…then makikita mo sa ibang site binebenta ng 1,100 ang price nato.. kung mabenta mo ang 100 cards ng 1,100 automatic may 20,000 income agad..pano from 900 pesos tutubo sila ng 200 eh kung may 100 na tao ang bumili eh di malaki nga naman ang kikitain sa panahon ngaun marami ang tuso….ang tanong ko lang sino sino to mga tao nato na sindikato..ako may idea pero no comment na lang….
