BDO Unibank, in coordination with the BDO Foundation, will hold its 5th annual fund raising run dubbed as “Race for Life”. It will be held on April 7, 2013 (Sunday), from 3:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the Marathon Route of Mall of Asia in Pasay City. Proceeds will help fund the housing projects of BDO Foundation, Inc. for typhoon victims.

  5. At Php900 sa 21K, dapat madami ng freebies yan. Kasing presyo ng mga patakbo ni kulot eh. Hehehe. Finisher’s Medal and Finisher’s Shirt please. Pasensya na ah. Freebies habol ko eh. Mahal na kasi mga patakbo ngayon. Respeto na lang po galing sa mga “Elites” dyan. :)

  18. Oo nga ang mahal nmn nung race map at guidelines pra sa P900 na registration fee.ala man lng F.S & medal.bkit kya ang mahal ng reg. fee? Sa MOA lng din nmn un lugar.

  24. di na ako umakyat ng stage because of frustration. I will not run in this race again because of the bad experience last year and the following reason:
    1. plastic medal (top 100 only)
    2. hassle ang registration at pagkuha ng racekit
    3. long que sa freebies(water only)
    4. late gun start from the original schedule

    hopefully, makinig sila sa comments ng mga nag run last year!

  37. To be honest, Jun Ryan Hernandez & Swoosh are being as polite as they possibly could be in their comments above. This event was absolutely a disaster last year. I think it was more a failure by the organizer than it was BDO, but the sponsor must take accountability for organizer selection as well.

    Who will the Race Organizer be this year? I can not find that information in the posting. I will never enter another event using the same organizer (being polite by not mentioning their name) that was used in 2012.

  38. Organizers idepend nio naman sarili nio, hehehe, runners need explanation lang naman and corrective action plans para maging mabenta ulit itong run nio na ito.

  39. Wow naman. 900 for 21k. di pa nakalatag kung ano makukuha mo sa 21k. Nakikipagkumpetensya ba kayo sa Run United? Mahal ng mga patakbo ngayon. Mukhang abuso na mga organizers. Repeat, ABUSO na. This is the Golden Age of Philippine Running. Don’t destroy it by milking race registration fees. daig nyo pa tuition fee sa school. Every year tumataas.

  40. This the worst…. dis-organized run I experienced last year. Just hoping it will improve this year but I will not be joining. Hope they change the event organizer.

  41. Well, as for my experience last year, ok nman.. may free tshirt pa nga for all and medal for the first 100 ata yun if I remember it correctly. Sayang nga lang at ngayon wla.. pero malay natin.. last year kasi, ndi agad naAnnounce na may finisher shirt.. pero eventually, ngupdate ung site at merom ng shirt.. I guess it’s from Globe tattoo?

  42. Ay oo nga daw. Di daw pinaalsi yung top 100 kaagad kasi aakyat pa ng stage sabay- sabay at magpapicture with their plastic medal. Still… top 100 pa rin. =)

    Parang March 17 Part 2, hahaha… Ang daming events. Sana may magdagdag pa para mas magulo, hahaha…

  43. kahit c coach kulot pa kunin nilang organizer dito, sorry! pero ayokong tumakbo ng may halung sama ng loob sa event na to..

    opo.. 3km lang po tinakbo ko dito last year, 1 month palang po ako tumatakbo that tym… im aiming for the medal for top 50 3km finishers… so i train hard khit bagito… wala po akong nakuhang medal,,, pero nagtaka ako, nauna ako sa kasama ko by 1min pero xa my medal… only to find out pumila xa dun sa naglilista ng top 50,,, at ako hnd… but after a week they release the official results,,, nasa top 50 list nila ako…

    cguro nga po fault ng organizers un at hnd c BDO… pero sorry talaga…

    ITS MY WORST RUN OF MY LIFE….

  46. Mahal na talaga mga patakbo sa ngayon.. Kaya masusuwerte ang mga runners na meron lugar na puwedeng takbuhan… Nike says: “The roads are always open – you can run them anytime you want”

    For me, the best pa din ang mga patakbo ni RunRio… in my own opinion lang po.. peace :)

  47. Withoutlimits ang hahawak ng events, so I guess marami naman mababago kung panget yung Feedback ng BDO run for life last year..

    kasi as far as I know, sila ang humawak ng QCIM, Ensurance, Red Crab at Immuvit run..

    so base sa mga Run na iyun.. I think they will deliver their best for the sake of runners

    siguro same quality ng runrio events na to. hindi rin tau sure.

  55. Nag iba na ng organizer, hopefully mas ok na ngaun compare last year.. i think nababasa naman nila ung feedback ng mga runners last year kay sana bumawi sila.. i’ll run for this event again..sana iupdate na nila kung me fin.medal or fin.shirt.. :)

  57. puro negative comments. buti pa RU1 kahit 900 ang fee sa 21k, may singlet na, may medal at finishers shirt pa.

    hope BDO and the organizers will read these comments so they can make a lot of HUGE IMPROVEMENTS in this upcoming run or else lalangawin na, kukutyain pa and worst wala ng sasali.

    akala ko nadyslexic lang ako dun sa comment #51. hehehehe… ok lang yan paks ang mahalaga napasaya mo ang araw namin. :)

  59. The issues raised for the the 2012 BDO Race for Life will be taken constructively learn from the past and taken into account to improve this year’s race. For 2013 the bdo race for life, it is.going to be handled by Without Limits which has a good track record in race organization. You can check out the history of the events they have organized at withoutlimits.com.ph which includes Brooks Run, St. Lukes Eye Run, IMMUVIT series, QCIM, InsuRUNce,Red Crab Run, PMMArun

    As per BDO foundation, 100% proceeds of the race goes to the BDO Volunteer fund focused on providing community facilities in villages that BDO builds and resettlement sites that it supports.

    So far, BDO has built three BDO Volunteer multi-purpose halls with these funds complete with furnishings which are found in Dreamlandville in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, Navotas resettlement site and Barangay Camia in Caloocan. BDO has also fully furnished a day care and livelihood center in Lexber Homes in Calumpit, Bulacan.

    Proceeds from the race could only cover so much and the rest of the shelter projects are already financed by BDO through BDO Foundation. For the past four (4) years, BDO Foundation has funded various housing projects in BDO Foundation-GK Community in San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan; Starville Shelter 3 in Baliwag, Bulacan; Lexber Homes in Calumpit, Bulacan, Camia Homes in Caloocan City and the on-going construction of permanent shelter for 410 families affected by Typhoon Sendong in Cagayan de Oro City

    masabi lang na maraming laman yung kit after registration pati yung race map and race guidelines eh nilagay, which is usually normal naman sa mga running event after your registered….

    no question naman sa mga ibang patakbo ng withoutlimits magaganda naman talaga pero matagal-tagal na ring nagoobserved ng mga events or minsan sumasali pero yung QCIM ang worst event na nasalihan ko especially sa 42k runners nung hindi nila sinara yung other lane of commonwealth like nung first 3events ng QCIM… para kang nakikipag patintero sa mga kasalubong na sasakyan… kung ganito pa rin ang event ng QCIM 2013… highly recommneded wag na tayong makipagsapalran sa safety natin…

  62. Out of 17 races I joined last year, this was the absolute worst for the ff reasons:
    1. late gun start
    2. their hydration stations ran out of water early on
    3. unbelievably long queue to get a bottle of sports drink after the run (couple that
    with #2 at talagang iinit ulo mo :p)

    The only good thing about last year’s run was I got a medal for finishing in the top 100. Iyon ang kaisa-isang medal ko na may kaunting bragging rights. hehe!

    I hope the change in race organizer -from Tri N Motion to Without Limits- will lead to a much better BDO Race for life.

    Isa pa pala, napakasungit nung lalaking in-charge last year, pero di siya masisisi kasi magulo rin naman talaga karamihan sa atin. :p

  66. Organizer ng FUn RUN na ito – please read/take it from fun runners remarks/comments. Gusto nila mainvolve sa inyong fund raising but because medyo mahal ang entry fee, expected nila some good freebies, a finisher shirt & a well designed finishers medal lalo na sa 21k…. Pwde naman kau kumuha ng fun run adviser para maging organised ang event! Salamat po!

  69. sorry to say, I had the worst banking experience in BDO, I hate BDO, may pinaghugutan talaga, hahahaha, anyway daming pera ni Henry Sy, he can fund himself in his foundation.

    Ngayon wala ng medal at finisher shirt lalo na sa 21k tapos 900 pa ang reg nya,,,

    What are the chances of ALL finishers (at least for the 21K) getting a medal and/or shirt? Pakilinaw na lang para mafinalize ng ibang runners kung sasali sila dito o hindi. Thanks.

  76. Oo nga, puro negative comments na lang. For sure, the new organizer will take into consideration yong mga negative comments nyo. Ang sa akin lang, no medal & FS, no run. Madami namang for a cause dyan na mura lang, di pa masama ang loob ko kasi mura lang.

    hays… sa dami ng SM Malls, BDO, SM Residences, and who knows what other projects and businesses they have, tama ba naman bang mag “FUND” raising sila through running? majority of the running community belongs to average to sub-average standard families. and what? youre going to make them “DONATE” that much in the spirit of running? sa mga katakot takot na construction sites ng mga sm malls at residences kabi-kabilaan, tama bang i-compare yung constructions of very few “NON-EARNING” charity projects nila?

    runners, gising-gising din ha. hindi naman masamang mabutasan ng isang sunday ang running activity natin. pwede rin mag group training nlang for this day. kaysa naman patulan pa yung ganitong not-so-fun “FUND” raising

  87. ito ang FIRST RUN ko last year from 3k and now nakakapag HM na ako… I would like to join in your event to say THANKS sa inyo kasi continue ang pagpapayat at change lifestyle na rin.

    I am Hoping na sana sagutin nyo po ang mga tanung at ibigay ang mga hinihingi naming mga details bago namin ibigay ang pera (reg.fee) po sa inyo.

    Nag post kayu ng event po ninyo then its your responsibility to do something para mapakalma ang mga nag comments at naka experience ng hindi maganda sa patakbo nyo last year….

    We do not have control over which events have a race results discussions page because this domain is owned by PinoyFitness. If you will revert back to the pre-event discussion page of PMMA Takbo para sa Marinong Pilipino you will see that we have posted the partial results last February 20, this was also updated last Friday on our website. Those who do not have their names on the results are from schools, whose database have not yet been submitted to us.

    We apologize if you feel that your safety was compromised during SMDC-QCIM 2012, the government agencies involved did not allow us full road closure except for the two inner lanes. We only have as much power over the route as what they will permit us. It is now the policy of QC Government, DPOS in particular to allow partial road closure (hence, the creation of road separators in Commonwealth Ave.). Road usage permits are processed and approved by the city government. Without Limits does not wish to point any fingers as to what, or who is at fault here. We can only state the facts. As you have pointed out in our past race events, we did not encounter this problem at all only in QCIM.

  91. Wait muna kayo guys sa final announcement bago mag judge. Wala naman perfect na organizer ng run di ba. Pero naiimprove naman un kasi. Pwede naman wag sumali pag may past run na dito at pangit kinalabasan eh…. Pwede naman kayo mamili sa mga events sa april 07 kung ayaw niu dito.
