Nature’s Trail Discovery Run 2nL – September 1-2, 2012

The mountain ranges composing the watersheds of Tanay, Rizal are at a critical level with its natural water resources dwindling at faster rate due to destruction of its forests, rivers and water springs which usually oozing with water all-year run but are now becoming drier in the summer months, a clear sign that if the destruction of the forests continue we may no longer have the watersheds but just dry parched mountains. Wealth of the forest must benefit the upland communities not waste them.

Nature’s Trail Discovery Run 2nL will bring runners to new adventures of trail running as well as promoting environmental awareness the reforestation of the watersheds of Tanay, Rizal and the development of upland communities through the mountain sports tourism promotion. It is a 3-leg series of Trail Run race. The first Leg was held last May 27. The series will run in different trail routes at the foot and top of hills and mountains, running through small trails, dirt roads, rivers, and inside the forested areas for complete trail experience. It shall serve as qualifying races for the annual “Love A Tree” which will have its next run on February 2013.

  9. Hi Pimco and Company, I was part of Leg 1 and I really really enjoyed it. Thank you for helping the sport grow by organizing these races. I hope you can organize more, there’s just not enough trail races going on for trail enthusiasts.

A lot of people wants to run the trails but it’s either we don’t know where to run or some of the trails are far from the metro. Please feature trails/locations on your website/facebook page and it’ll be good too if you include them in your upcoing magazine.

Thanks and more power. See you on 2nL

  19. Hi!

I just realized I haven’t received my race kit yet. I’m one of the early bird registrants. When will you guys start delivery? Thanks! :)

  20. @bokeeman: they’re still fixing daw their delivery schedule. but the kits are available for claiming sa ROX if you want to get yours na :)

  21. Ah okay, thanks! :) Sige, will just wait for the delivery. Anlayo ng ROX mula sakin eh!

After Love-A-Tree and Nature’s Trail 1nL, I’m excited to scale the mountains of Tanay once more! :D

  22. para sa mga naexperience na yung leg1. anong klaseng trail ba meron? is it the same as merrell3?

in a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most brutal, i’d rate merrell3 as 8… how would you rate this one compared to merrell3?

  23. @toots: sir, for me, if it weren’t for the rains, which made the merrell trail muddy, mas mahirap po ung trail ng leg 1 nito. mas mataas po kasi ang elevation at mas steeper ung bundok na part. pero ibang trail na po ang gagamitin sa leg 2 nito :) masaya, sir. tara! :))

  24. @QP, thanks sa info…

i’ll register in 21k. i’d just like to assess the trail kung kailangan ko ulit bumili ng trail shoes… yung merrell trail glove ko kasi 3x ko pa lang nagamit sa trail running pudpod na agad saka di ko maasahan sa grip, masyadong madulas kahit nung una ko syang ginamit.

sana di maulan prior to the event para walang masyadong putik =P

  25. hmm… wanna try this and see how the route compares to MAR and Rapu-Rapu and the transpo is a plus.

although sana okay lang umalis ng hapon ang bus sigurado may matatagalan ulet pag umulan. They didn’t prepare for that possibility during MAR.

  26. Hi JP wala pang nangyari sa race namin na me naiwan ng bus. Last time our race is completed with all the runners accounted for by the bus. Except of course on the way to the race, the bus only picks up appointed time at each pick up point and does not wait to avoid getting late at the gun start.

  27. Hi Toots on the weather, if its only ordinary rain that has not reached the level where its not safe to race, we will proceed with the race. However if it has reached a level where its unsafe to runners such as typhoons or flooding (acts of gods), we will re-schedule the race in the next most appropriate date in consultation with the local government unit. Because of the weather our staff has been inspecting the race course weekly up to 3 days prior to the race day and look at the race course conditions as well as the travel conditions from Metro-Manila to Tanay. In our inspection last Sunday as you can see in our Facebook Page, the race courses are ok in spite of the rains. This week we will once again make another inspection. We will keep you all updated. We pray and we hope we will have a generally good weather condition come race day.

  28. @Emmanuel: salamat po sa update in regards to “the race courses are ok in spite of the rains.” It’s our first time (Beginners) po to join and we’re hoping na we will enjoy the excitement, fun and gain new friends in this thrilling trail run.

    Thanks and God bless po!

  29. can u give us idea of the trails?baka kasi ung 21km eh dalawang beses lang iikutin ung route same as 10km..parang merrell adventure run lang kasi kung least expected na namin kung magkaganun man…pero i think mas ok to kesa sa immuvit kasi mas masasabi kong trail run to…21km for 950 is not bad compare to immuvit’s 10km for 800…

  30. By the way, kelan po ba madedeliver yung race kit? Its been 2 months since ive registered to this event, malapit na po yung sept. Thank you.

  31. Please visit our official web site, you will find the race routes for the 5k (Beginners), 10k and 21k, explore it in 3D Google Earth. For the pictures, please check our facebook page at See you all at the race day. For the advance 10k and 21k complete race routes uphill, downhill, mountain trails, creek and river crossings. The 21k runners will have 1 creek crossing and 7 river crossings. Elevation is 200 meters, 400 meters, 500 to 600 meters above sea level. Awesome venue and scenery.

  32. Hi, many have already picked up their race kits at ROX, BGC since July 25 after we made announcement in our Facebook page. for those who registered online who can drop by ROX or our office the race kits are available between 4-8 pm. For Metro-Manila deliveries of those who registered online it will be in batches starting next week. You too may pick it up though or wait for scheduled deliveries.

  33. Beginners will get a taste of trail running in the 5k Trail Fun Run. Registration is going on fast. If you have been running road, its time to experience trail running too. See you!

  34. See you all. Its few days time before closing of registration and 18 days to go. Who will be the Top Trail Runners Finishers for the 2nd Leg and top contenders for the Trail Runners of the Year Award?

  35. @victoria, im also looking for new friends! kidding! =) enjoy your first trail run, but safety first…

    @sportyspice, why? di ka join?

  36. @ Ms. Abbie

clarify ko lang, I registered for a 5k (beginner pa lng kc ako s trail run). Namention mo (comment24) na sep 1 ang sprint challenge cup, anong oras ? ibig sabihin ba non dapat nandon ako ng sep 1? Sorry mejo slow… :)

  37. Yes toots, you are right, sprint challenge is postponed we announced in our Facebook Page, the September 1 special event will be played in the 3rd Leg. The road leading to the venue in San Andres for the uphill/downhill is destroyed by the habagat rains. It may take about 3 months to repair the damage to the road.

  38. Ask ko lang po after nung 1L run (27 May) nag early register na kami for (10Km) dun sa Sn Andres at nagbayad ng P600 para sa 4 na runners bakit po P600 ea pa din ang binayaran namin thru BDO acct nyo?

  39. hi, this will be my first time to do a trail run. I am doing 10k. Is there like a route map or someone to check on us during the course of the run, just in case we get lost. Thanks!

  40. Hi Arnold, no problem, please call the office 5321645 or 5710524 and look for Christian to address your concern. Thanks for calling our attention. The one in charge, Janet is on leave so the one who sent you the SOA may have missed the list of those who made reservation during the 1st Leg.

  41. Hi Jojo, You will not get lost because we have Marshals all around and guides from end to end. Dont worry with your first time to do trail running. Hi Rogemar, yes pwede ka pang mag-late register via Online Registration. You can go to to register. Late registrants no longer have Finishers Shirt though but you have free “Get Dirty” TShirt from sponsor.

  42. clarify ko lang, Emmanuel. tama ba yung basa ka na pwedeng sumali as a team? papaano yun? i thought na individual ang registration? 5 kasi kami, and we have all individually registered pero kung pwedeng sumali as a team, type din namin. thanks in advance for your reply.

  43. Hi I Have not collected my race kit yet,

can i collect it on race day instead? Btw i will be taking the shuttle from Makati for non campers..

    Thank you!

  44. Hi sir emmanuel, nag pa register po ako online, early bird pa but wala pang delivery ng kits? Darating pa po ba or sa event site na lang po kami mag claim? Slamat!

  45. Hi Dana, your race kit is ready, you have it at the race day no problem. See you and have fun :)

For the bus shuttle, please call 5321645 / 5710524 and look for Christian for verification of your name. Thanks.

  46. Hi Lani, you can form your own team and participate as a team so your group will be recognized and you can invite other runners. We are encouraging runners to form trail running teams as buddy system which helps members during races and and during training and practice runs.
