Here are the most awaited details and information about the upcoming Condura Skyway Marathon 2012 happening on February 5! Slots are limited! This year the starting point of the race will be at the Skyway Alabang Tunnel along Alabang-Zapote Road and the first ever marathon to start at Midnight!

This race is for the benefit of the Mangroves Forest in Sibugay Bay in Zamboanga. 1 Runner, 3 Mangroves!

  1. I-donate na lang kaya muna natin ung reg natin sa sendong victims (Iligan, CDO) i think mas kailangan ng mga ito ang tulong natin kesa sa mangrove who can take naman with local gov’t and other NGO’s. Marami pa namang 42k na darating and mas cheaper.

  3. The preceding comments are very welcome. Instead of running 42k for P1300, the money could be worthwhile donating to calamity victims in the Southern Mindanao areas. Ako sana tatakbo rin ng 42k pero mas tama na ibigay ko yung amount ng reg fee sa fund raising campaign ng GMA or ABS CBN. Sa Milo na lang ako mag42K. O kung may sobra akong pang-reg, gawin ko na lang pareho para di naman ako madeprive ng gusto kong gawin.

  5. yeah you can donate your 1400 and kapag mag extra pa eh sali ka. Follow your heart pero wag naman natin i criticize yun event, organizers na sana mag donate nalang sila etc instead of organizing this run.

  7. Why mangroves? They are like natural sea walls that protect the coast from strong winds and waves. They help absorb storm waters. They filter rivers from sediments and even from dangerous chemicals. They’re shelter for small fishes and seashells which can, in turn, feed people who forage in mangroves. Its also conceivable to think that the victims could have used mangroves to climb to safety and maybe more people could have survived. Who knows? Maybe the Sendong disaster might not have been as bad as it was if there were mangroves (or more mangroves) in the area. Food for thought. I’m going to both Rescue Run for Sendong victims (dec 31 at McKinley Hill) and Condura Skyway and encourage everyone to join both.

    Sorry pero I am not pro Condura or anything. I just find it funny how people think nowadays.

    You can donate everyday if you want, to every charity or beneficiary of your choice but you can only run on the Skyway once a year and if you can afford it and if you have the money and if you WANT to do it by all means do it.

    Life will go on and it will never be perfect. There will always be sadness and hate around us. And running makes it a little better.

  13. I hate Condura Skyway Marathon because it’s tainted with commercialism but I can’t help my self from joining the 42K. Nagregister na ako. Ganun lang yun, sali kayo kung gusto niyo, kung ayaw naman ok din lang. Huwag lang sana nating masamain ang mga opinion ng iba, pero di ko naman sinasabing di pwedeng magreact. It’s the free exchanges of ideas that make this website a market place to all fitness buff.

  19. went to riovana the fort this afternoon but unfortunatelay wala na 42kits. antay pa ulet deliveries. sayang time and transpo expenses.

  27. Why 42k medal kung may medals naman sa 3k?
    42k – 4 inch medal
    21k – 2.5 inch medal
    10k – 2 inch medal
    5k – 2 inch medal
    3k – 2 inch medal

    Which means kung 3k lang tinakbo mo, di pwede sabihin sa mga tao na 42k tinakbo mo kasi kita sa laki ng medal haha

    lahat ng medal ay may nakalagay na category, 3k to 16k, yung 21k at 42k nasa mismong medal nya nakalagay, di mo pwedeng sabihin sa ibang tao na 42k ka pero tinakbo mo lang ay 3k,

  32. How to commute to race venue from north:
    From EDSA, ride a bus or MRT bound for Ayala MRT Station. Go to the Ayala Center Terminal (below the station)and look for the FX/GT Express bound for Pilar Village via Skyway. It passes by the starting line before reaching Alabang Town Center. I’m just not sure about the chances of getting rides after midnight

  38. last night.. we were at riovana BGC and was in line and awaiting our turn to be officially registered.. until we noticed the sample tech shirt for the condura run.. we were very much dismayed about the quality of tech shirt compared to last year.. so we went home unregistered… tsk.. why is that? its so expensive and yet the quality of the tech shirt degraded… why o why…

  44. real runners dont run for the freebie singlet or shirt. we couldnt care less if the singlet/shirt were made of katsa, or even no freebie at all, we are there for the pleasure of running the skyway =)

  51. Wave B ako sa 21K! My 2nd 21K in my running career. Career?haha See you runners! Sana wala tayong bayad sa tollgate ng skyway. Di ko afford ang rate, mashadong mahal. LOL

  53. After my SIM (42km), I will decide to whether to join Condura, medyo tight yung schedule from January 22 then Feb. 5. In case a finally decided the question is 42km or 21km.

  65. I read that each wave has 500 runners. So multiply that to the slots they allotted and you get the wave count. That is if they will fill up the slots they’ve intended.

    registered for the full marathon already? as long as you can finish it within the specified cutoff (if there’s any) then just go ahead. given with dedication, consistent training and long runs on weekends anyone can finish a 42km race

  74. i understand why there’s some runner who considered first the quality of the singlet or kung may medal or finisher shirt after the race well because diba alam namn natin na mrami magagandang running event na gusto natin salihan, para sa mga runner na limited lang yun budget they want to maximize it, compare sa iba na they can afford it.. sana maging humble pa rin tayo.. anyway we will run for this to help the environment let’s focus na lang jan, wag na lang tayo mag hamak ng kapwa natin runner.. mind your own, and DON’T mind them…

  80. Guys, relax lang tayo. ‘Wag na naten patulan ang mga mabababaw na bagay. if they have issues, they have to take it up with the organizers themselves.

  83. @maharot they accept credit card payment sa riovana katipunan. wala ring line nung nagpareg kami last sunday, sa bgc branch for sure mahaba pila.

  84. How often do you get a medal for distances below 21k? How often do you get to run on the Skyway?

    I hope this run will be the premiere run in the Philippines (isn’t it already?)so that our country will be in the map when it comes to renowned marathons like Boston, Chicago etc. :D

    I saw the medals on Facebook and the 42k is humongous. Some say it looks like a gong or a small plate haha true. Lucky you 42k runners. Add’s a BIG medal to your collection of medals. :)

  86. Bakit andmi ditong mahilig mang-atake? Bawala na ba magpost ng sariling mga kuro kuro at opinyon? Away naman yata ang gusto ng ibang mga tao hindi takbo. Kung ayaw nyo takbuhan ton wag nyo! Wag na lang kaung manggulo!

Medyo malaki nga mga bro ung medal compare with medal of 21k and others nakadisplay sya sa reg. booth kanina ung mga medal sa festival mall i dont know sa ibang reg.booth kung meron. and hoping na may lootbag like with other marathon not plastic bag last year and also bawal ang plastic bag sa muntinlupa. Pero much better medal and finisher shirt but its ok as long as the half of the income
    Or 75 percent of total income will go to the sibugay bay in zambo for beautification of our natural resources. Godluck to all guys.

  93. Well with what they posted on Facebook, it was huge, specially when Mr. Concepcion wore it thus my reaction. If it is not as big then that’s ok, not a biggie at least for me.

    Running the Skyway for the first time is enough for me even without any “4 inch in diameter medal”. :)

    Sorry to burst your bubble but I won’t get disappointed because I am not going to run the 42k so no big medal for me. Only a small medal, but a medal is a medal, better than nothing.

  99. Its not about the freebies or the medals or the singlets or the expensive reg fee or the donation to their charitable institution, it’s about running the skyway. It’s about the RUN. That alone is worth the price of admission.

    -we’re coming from makati-Manila area around 5 to 6 runners (carpool)

    take NLEX (not skyway), exit Alabang? tama po ba?
