  1. i’ve been running in most of runrio’s race events because of its high credibility to organize excellent races. sad to say but this is really not as good as the previous races. lanes are too narrow for 8k runners. the only saving grace is the shirt. the runners can’t be blamed for expecting more, i mean this is a partnership between one of the best running organizers and one of the best global brands…

  2. Oh well, I suppose this quarrel will continue until everyone gets a chance at being right.

On another note, did anyone else’s shorts smell like cheese after the race? I mean, you know, ’cause mine didn’t. But I was just curious if yours did… because, man, that would be really embarrassing.

  3. I don’t enjoy the bcoz of so much people, disappointment came after when we didn’t receive our finisher’s kit… We just went home immediately…

  4. It’s my first night run and my 2nd 10k run. Overall… satisfied! Disaster lang ang baggage counter… found out from one of the in-charge that they re-arranged the bags when the race started. Our bags were found at the other counter! haist! terrible!

The route was ok… challenging with the dark spots. Congested routes were obstacle course for me which I fared well I guess coz I finished more or less 30mins earlier than my 1st 10k run.

    Kudos Run Rio! and Nike!

nxs: pls do something to improve the baggage counter.

    Thanks!

  5. Dun sa Php650 pa lang, true, sulit na yung teeshirt at yung tumbler…kaso when you promised additional freebies like the usb and the surprise finisher’s award, people will not expect a letter of apology…btw, if you were able to write a letter of apology and be able to distribute it on the event most likely i guess na foresee nyo na sya the day before or perhaps earlier…sana man lang i-nannounce na lang ninyo beforehand na madedelay sya kaysa naman paasahin nyo sa wala…because in the end runners will still attend your event because we love to run. Dun sa issue ng baggage, i think magiging sirang plaka pa ako paginulit ko lang ang mga above comments…let’s just say it made me think twice about what to bring and what not to bring so ayan at least may positive akong nakuha sa issue na ito lol…dun naman sa daanan…true, alam naman nating lahat na night run sya so kung talagang runner tayo, dapat nagdala tayo ng flashlight…i had a flashlight at muntik pa rin akong matapilok…why? kasi during those last 2km…i like so many of us, start feeling stress on our legs like when the muscles stiffen/cramps…plus talagang ang focus natin is matapos ang run without adding further stress on our muscles…oo may flashlight nga pero limited lang ang scope nya… alangan naman constant kang nakayuko para tingnan lang ang tinatakbuhan mo well you know what i mean….i have no problem with the route pero yung safety nung daanan …the least the organizers could do in a night run was provide ample lighting…i dunno but is this the first time RunRio organized a night run? …coz it looks like it caught them offguard….anyway i trust this team to learn from this negatives para sa next run nila ay ok na….Other than than Kudos sa organizers for the hydration stations, concert…honga pala…di as a matter of courtesy dapat yung humihinto o kaya bumagal e dapat magmove to the right…ako im pretty sure i moved to the right….pero yung mga tumatakbo ng mabibilis…sa right din pumupunta…ilang beses kaya ako binangga…yung ibang naglalakad naman…maraming nasa left…parang hindi nagbasa nung section sa courtesy.

    – Baggage counter, first time na uminit ulo ko at knabahan,,

I run bcoz I want to enjoy, to release stress pero Iwas stressed with this run.

    If i wud rate it, 1 being d lowest, it’s 0.5.

    Prestige run???

  8. Nike We Run Manila 10k
    Second Night Run!
First was Camp Run 5k category in Camp Aguinaldo.

    – Race Pack collection.
    And worst, nag system down!

    – Starting Line.
    It says: FINISH!
RU2 has how many registered runners in all and how many 10k runners?

    – Route.
Given na it’s a night run, it’s not supposed to be so dark you can barely see the runners and the track. Pano pala kung uneven yong road o me naligaw na bato? I turned on the flashlight of my phone kesa naman hindi ko makita dinadaanan/tinatakbuhan ko.

    – Finish Line.
    It says: START!

    – Finisher’s kit.
Nagulat ako sa letter of apology at sa poster…
    Crowd control please…

    No nanyare?

    – Post Race event.
It’s the best! Having Chicosci, Sandwich and Parokya ni Edgar, who would complain for such entertainment?

    – Race Results: Haven’t checked mine.
Magkaiba ang bib number at d-tag, alin ang gagamitin to search for the results?

I came because I wanted to run/walk but I want to have a safe run/walk.
The shirt and tumbler may cover the cost of the fee I paid for the run but does that mean ok lang na hindi safe ang track na tinatakbuhan?

Nike and Runrio thank you for the experience.
The not so good experience won’t stop me from running and will anticipate for a lot better Nike 2012!

  9. Worst run!

  10. What was bad was that the people didn’t really care about runner’s etiquette. Walkers were all over the lanes and really didn’t give a shit about where they were. Some people would even run in front of you, then suddenly stop. Then they have the gall to get mad at you for crashing into them.

Yelling “Runner on your left.” and “Excuse me!” did not work for the most part. People just didn’t read what was on the directions given or if they did, they just didn’t give a shit. I ended up pushing people that got in my way.

  11. the race was a great one, though the route was narrow for the number of runners to run to.

the run route was crowded resulting to other runners to just walk for a while until they can see a slight opening to start running again.

regarding the race bib as commented by one of the runner, the number was already printed on the tee.

Great Run! Sana mapadala nila agad ung freebies! heheheh! Next Year Ulit! Kita Kits sa Adidas KOTR!

  13. @push and shove:

If you were yelling: “Runner on your left.” and “Excuse me!” , You went past me that night. I’d like to share sentiments with you. The “walkers” destroyed the overall experience of the race. I hate to think that some of the people there ran just for fad, and not actually for the love of it. They just don’t care. There was this girl who actually stopped at the finish line, and she was pointing her fingers at my direction (I think she was looking at her companions), she almost hit me, I almost knocked her down. I hated that part. So unprofessional.

And the volume of the participants is too numerous for the organizers to handle, I suppose. There should have been more than one category for this race, so that we don’t have to pretend that we can all “run” the distance. :/

  14. Any ladies on here willing to sell their race tee in a size Large or Medium? I have a special someone back home who would love a little souvenir from the event. I just don’t think a framed apology letter from RunRio has the same magic touch.

Anyhow, reply to me in this forum; make your hard-earned money back!

  15. Actually I do not know what happened but initially I saw holding markers for the different 10k pace. There were 5 min/km, 6 and so on. This will group the runners with almost the same pace so the faster runners will be in front of the starting line and the slower ones at the back…..they just did not put those markers up and just bundled everybody in one gun start.

But for me, it’s not my personal race so I get to share the road with other runners, fast, slow and walkers alike. Now I know why dynamic warm up for agility is very important because running is usually not a straight line, it has it’s own twists and turns.

  16. Test of patience nga yung race na yun, as in. :) Although you are compelled to squeeze through the crowd, slower runners just won’t keep right.

Anyway, overall, it was a bonding experience instead with my running partner. And I believe the shirt and the other freebies are worth the registration price.

with all of the negative stuff na nangyari sa unang NIKE run, sana lang we can expect a better NIKE run sa 2012… I’m sure agree lahat jan ….

and providing the mini concert was superb lalo na yung parokya na ung lumabas!

Sabi nga nila sa FB account nila, “some things are worth waiting for.”

  20. seryoso? asa usb??? hahaha! I’m a little skeptic kung dadating pa ung usb na un eh..haha.. pero the same time, hopeful. hehe.. pero sana post na lang din nila dito.. nkaka inip eh haha :))

  21. I was not all the organizers’ fault…(if that’s how put it). We participants also did our share of making things worse for the event, like walkers who didn’t read or have read but didn’t care about following the race etiquette. That goes the same for some fast runners who were left no choice but to criss cross everywhere they can squeeze themselves to pass the crowd. It’s The already lack of discipline among our kababayans multiplied by 8,000 has amplified the chaos in the event.
The route was not that narrow or dark, it was the multitude of runners/walkers that made it literally narrow and looked darker to run along with.
I myself had to weave my way to cross the finish line at my preferred time but kept a cool head and focused on running the best I can despite the situation. Even Mr. Rovelson Fernandez who started last was able to manage his way pass the pasosyal walkers and managing to finish in less than an hour, and he was a huge guy at that.
So for me it wasn’t that bad at all, and I even saw some humor in it since we were all in orange shirt, it almost looked like the Dancing Inmates of Cebu that broke out of jail and scampered like a bunch of zombies from a cheap horror movie. hehehe ^_^.
Overall, I still had fun that weekend. Nothing compared to what happened at the recent MIM.

  22. some learnings from my side:
    – great shirt, although i still saw a number of runners who did NOT wear the official shirt.. still, great idea to wear the singlet without the BIB.. black seemed to be the most popular running short color
    – starting waves were not implemented.. now that running has been big in the past few months, every BIG race should start in waves… alam na dapat ng RUNRIO yun.. and that ‘on your left’ instruction is a far reality with thousands of walkers on all sides… it’s like PASIG RIVER run all over again..
    – sufficient number of hydration stations.. a funny thing is that you can tell who are the newbies and the ones with no running etiquette.. i saw people who picked up a cup, drank down the liquid, then return the cup on the table instead of disposing in the trash bins!! blechkhh… oh well, can’t do anything other than being careful out there …
    – crowd control needs some improvement… there should be a continuous path after the finish line rather than directing the runners to a muddy, narrow and confusing way to the activity area

  23. The Run itself really great…But the baggage counter..GRABE sa gulo at napaka unorganize..ang bag ko nawala ang name tag so di agad nkita…parang may stampid sa itsura…BUT THE RU super naenjoy ko khit first time ko mag 10k run…daming tao pero super saya

  24. That’s probably the reason why they’re not yet posting the results officially. They would like to make sure that all the data are in before the runners see it. The chip time still shows the gun time for now to those whose names are already being shown, maybe we just have to give them more time to wrap it up.

  25. Yep.. I thought of that too, after i cooled down.. haha! :) weird lang din kasi.. o anywayss…sana nga :) bka sila yung mas maaagang nag regist

  26. Yep.. I thought of that too, after i cooled down.. haha! :) weird lang din kasi.. o anywayss…sana nga :) bka sila yung mas maaagang nag register

  27. another record of first time for me in a runrio organized event…first time that i have no record.

i hope they can still fix this issue.

  28. yah, so disappointing. Organizing an event like this should not sacrifice the results that the runners worked hard on. Does Nike want to compromise their established name on the pitfalls of the event.

  29. Dear running elitists devoid of complaints,

Though you may not have had any issues with your race and scoff at those who had, please refrain from patronizing them.

If the people’s voices are heard and subsequent running events are thus improved, you too will benefit from the effective. That is unless, of course, you are a sadomasochist… in which case I extend to you my congratulations on being a competitive purist. Here’s a low-carb cookie.

  30. bat ganon? chip time = gun time. eh halos nasa dulo ako ng starting line eh. sa stopwatch ko ahead ako ng 2 mins compared sa online race results

So disappointing. Sayang pera. Mahal tapos missing data…

  32. Now we know why they held the results for too long, only 59% have been counted and most of it are erroneous.

Binigay ko na ID ko mali pa rin ang spelling and my time is about 30 minutes off. Oh well, as what RunRio always say: “we will not entertain any question about the runners time until we have posted the official race result”…..and that ladies and gentlemen is a good 10-14 days from now.

    Keeping my fingers crossed…

  33. baka na basa kaya nag error. i have time result on the 5k mark and finish mark. start 2.5k and 7.5k mark were all missing data.

hope u all had ur pictures taken sa finish line, para may proof of participation :D btw, pano ang USB if missing data ang nakalagay sa result?

  34. Thank you Bazu but I think I haven’t trained hard enough to make my last 5k faster by 3min/mile than my first 5k….I know I need to start slow and finish strong, but not as strong as this one.

  35. first 10K run ko ang Nike Run,over all ok lang para sa akin yung run ganoon talaga part ng run yun mga problema wala naman perfect.ok lang din yung mga negative comment para mapabuti pa yung mga next na event.wish ko lang makuha ko official time ko just like yung iba wala din yung time ko sa race result na inilabas nila.hope you can do something about it.thanks

  36. how come i got missing data. all three of us who registered at the same time get the same results. i hope it’s only partial listing. it’s disappointing if no results will be recorded. also, i wanted to check, how come if i entered the bib #, my name doesn’t appear? does this mean that the bib number issued doesn’t coincide with the registered names? hope you can do something about it. it’s kinda confusing.

  37. Guys re your result..pls email runriotiming@gmail the following infos
    Name
    BIB#
    Dtag#
    Birthdate

mabilis naman sagot nila sakin kahapon and finally nagkalapit na yung garmin time ko and my official time..before kase they use the gun time and no chip time on the start..

  38. ooooops..i have to correct my earlier statement: “”Na choke ata timing sensors sa dami ng umapak sa kanya””

I just noticed from the bazu result that the first place james tallam until the last place eh missing data start..ibig sabihin from the beginning eh di na gumana yung timing sensor…

  44. badtrip.. I tried seaching my number 30286,it was registered to Ian Perez.. wahhh.. then i tried my name no Record.. nice one.. I Love It… Grrrrrrrrr….

  45. MISSING DATA, hoping maging concern namn ung mga organizer ng event. what the use of timing chip, if is no data on it. Most of the time eto ung problema, kasama nmn sa package ung timing chip for us to know our time… .

  46. no results!!!! hay worst of all, when my credit card bill came, they charged me twice for the race fee and until now, no feedback from them. tsk!

  47. hmm..ang tuling nung GF ah..Rank #21. She’s <25…while Im rank #1866.sheeez.

Is the ranking there based on your Gender & age group, or Gender lang or Over-all na kaya?

  48. asa pa tayo na makukuha natin mga usb flashdrive na yan. palpak naman sila pagdating sa delivery ng mga post race kits e. ever since sa unilab wala ako nareceive sa kanila, malamang sa kanila na lang yun hahaha…great job organizers for pissing us off!

  49. okay n pla my time is 1:09:45.. ang problem ko lang yng flashdrive pwede b pakuha o ibbibigay ko address ko.. or maybe s opis n kapatid ko para mdaling mkita.. tanks a lot..
