Note: Please bring your ID and confirmation slip to collect your race pack. Those who wants their friends or proxy to collect their Race Kit, make sure you give them this Letter of Authorization.

Run Buddy Run Nike+ Challenge:

In the spirit of WE RUN, Nike will launch the Run Buddy Run Nike+ Challenge to celebrate the motivational aspect of running with a buddy! Running has long been referred to as a personal endeavour, but despite the individual nature of the sport, running is an intensely communal pursuit too. The Run Buddy Run Nike+ Challenge takes on the idea of run clubs, training groups and community to broaden the appeal of physical running into the virtual world. Driven through Nike Running Philippines Facebook page and the Nike+ platform, the challenge will see pairs of run buddies race it out to win a VIP Race Day Experience at the We Run Manila 10K, and other Nike prizes.

Challenge mechanics below:
1. Visit Nike Running Philippines Facebook page at www.facebook.com/NikeRunningPH and check out the WE RUN MANILA 10K tab.
2. Click on RUN BUDDY RUN and sign up with your run buddy.
3. Once you’ve joined the challenge with your run buddy, lace up your running shoes and hit the road!
4. Sync your KMs to Nike+ and follow the daily leader board updates on the Nike Running Philippines Facebook page.

  21. Yup. Closed na daw registration as of yesterday pa. Nakahabol ako & with buddy, pero large na lang daw ang shirt (laki pa naman ng sizes nila). Hip hop tuloy ako on race day. hehe.

  25. Please runrio, give more slots for male category. Sa website kasi Oct 5 ang last registration kaya naplano na naming bukas (Oct 1) pumunta sa Shangrila (Calamba pa ako) kasi yun lang ang available naming time mula sa trabaho.

  30. which is better before running, Sports drink (powerade, 100 plus, gatorade) or an energy drink (cobra, sting, bacchus). Would taking an ibufrofen will help preventing pain during a race. Help pls. Thanks!!!

  33. @josh hindi ba magulo ang RU2? hindi naman parepareho nakukuha ng mga tao na freebies on site kasi nagkakadugasan and ubusan din. ang distribution nila ng post race kit maraming problema. wag bias sa runrio. marami din silang flaws, btw. tama na nga naman ang 8000. they should stick to their initial statement.

  34. @eatandrun : agree! para naman lahat makakuha ng usb shoe thumbdrive.. opening more slots would cause logistical problems. remember ru2? pink bibs were able to get finisher’s kit.. btw, since maaga nang dumilim? well lit ba ang route?

  35. they have a long list of runners who haven’t received post race kits from RU2 2010 and RU1 early this year. i don’t waste time and effort of falling in line during their events because there’s just too much people. so im not maximizing what i paid for. Maybe they also think 8000 is just enough to be manageable.

  36. This was supposed to be my first time to participate in one of these events and i’m disappointed. They provide a cutoff date for registration but do not follow. They stated that they are EXPECTING 8,000 participants, not necessarily ACCOMODATING 8,000 participants. The more the merrier nga diba? LOL. Anyways.. still looking forward to an extension…

  37. Suggestion: Bukod sa Race Pack (Nike Drifit Shirt & timing chip), ibigay na din ang thumbdrive at Nike tumbler on claiming dates stated above.     Para ma-lessen ang pressure nila on the date of the race. Ngayon kung ang runners na freebies lang ang habol(drifit, tumbler at thumbdrive), its beyond our control. Took it on a positive side na konti lang tatakbo sa race. mas maoorganize nila mabuti. Deal?

    “How to use your Runrio Timing Card”
    – On site registration
    Just present your card to Runrio personnel and say your preferred race category and singlet size. Personnel will update it then you are registered.

  40. I think the reusable timing card is just a decorative something. I saw runners from RU2 wearing the card on their shoes and a Dtag on the other shoe. Has anyone noticed the “B-tag” at the back of RU2 bibs? it has the same metal circuit (?) usually placed at the backs of RFID timing tags.

  63. It is disappointing that some of you guys here were not able to register. But I think, that as in most races with a heavy traffic of registrants, the “deadline for registration” is not usually met. I agree that logistics-related problems might be encountered if the number becomes larger than expected. It happened during the AXN run, too. A lot of the late registrants who were not supposed to get a finishers shirt were able to get one, and those who were due the shirt, were not able to get theirs.

    Maybe the lesson to learn here is that we shouldn’t wait for the deadline. :) So this way, everybody’s heappy. :)

  66. Those who are still hoping to get a slot, try listening to Magic89.9 to win a free slot just by answering random questions from their DJs. It’s not guaranteed kasi mahirap makalusot ang tawag dun, but there’s no harm in trying, malay nyo makachamba kayo. Ewan lang din kung namimigay pa rin sila up to this week kasi nga nameet yung target ng Nike.

    the cut-off posted was oct 5 but they also noted OR WHILE SLOTS LAST. so, before the actual cut-off date came, slots were already taken. but we hope NIKE would consider having more slots so as my friends can register too. not all can register asap, some are very busy, even online registration is a bit hassle especially for those who do not have a credit card. again, we hope they consider opening more slots. thanks :)

  68. in order to get the thumbdrive, you have to finish the race in not more than 2hours and 30 minutes, beyond this time, you won’t be able to get the thumbdrive. you can refer to RUNRIO.COM regarding this.

  69. RACE CUT-OFF TIME:
    – Participants will need to finish the race within two and a half hours from the flag off time.
    – Participants who fail to meet this cut-off time will not be entitled to receive the finisher’s kit.

  70. So the thumbdrive is another motivation to finish the race asap. If Kenyans can, Filipinos too. Just train. Not bad as Adobo Run gives their finishers’ medal for the first 500 who will finish the race. I hope that Nike will meet all our expectations,otherwise will be compared to the upcoming KOTR on Oct. 23. Good thing on their part, they set it early than the other brand. They are the one to set the standard. In fairness on both brand, they keep on advising all the runners thru CPs, emails, blogs etc. to get their race packs on their schedule dates. Run safe!!!

  77. For those who live near ATC (Alabang Town Center) and wants to train in running for free (while also gaining more running friends), you may want to be a member of the elite ATC Runners. We train every Saturday 5:30AM at ATC Corte delas Palmas area (near Starbucks and Contis).

  88. @bulas: Hi Sir. Ako po willing makipagtrade ng shirt, sakto mine is large and small lang ang gusto ko. Naubusan na kasi ako ng sizes nun kaya naging large. Kaso hindi kita matext, edited yung cp# mo dito. Try natin email or facebook kaya? Tnx

    @Vladz: Ok lang magkapalitan ng shirt as long as pareho kayo makakatapos on time. 2.5hrs is more than enough to finish 10k, pang 21k pa nga yun eh. ^_^

  95. registration for this event ended last last week pa, and sa pag claim kanina ng shirt, ilan beses din inulit na wala na talaga registration… okay naman ung pagclaim, 11 booths for claiming, 3 customer service booth and 1 lane for vip… mabilis naman… talaga lang madami kasi 8k ung runners na nagreg e… okay ung kit, maganda ung shirt and ung tumblr, andon din ung dtag and ung runners manual… excited much!

  96. to anyone here who wants to change their singlets, nike are allowing the runners to change their singlets, just go to the customer service lane instead of lining up to the 11 claiming booths…

  100. anu pinagkaiba ng race kits ng vip sa iba? ung akin ksi sa booth 1 ko naibigay eh…dun ksi ako itinuro..atsaka pde pa ba magpapalit ng size ng singlet, maliit ung sa mga kasama ko eh, ako lng ksi ang kumuha,sayang nman kng di nila masusuot…..thanks
