Ha ha ha i remember my run in this event last year, grabe i was super scared when i was at the area of near manggahan, there were a lot of scary guys who looked like their gonna grab me just for the heck of it coz there were not security people in that area anymore and both my legs& knees were badly injured ;)

Last year’s QCIM distances were kinda short for 10K and over for 21K :-)
I ran 10K last year, maybe HM for QCIM3.
That will be my 10th HM this year 2011. A great way to end another running year.

just started my HM last March, i ran HM events every month since then, surely preparing for my 1st Full Mary ,just hoping its not “too much too soon” for me!

same month pala tayo napasok sa HM, at 1-2 events per month since then… i think kung ang tanong ay ‘kaya’, well kaya…if you’re in it for the experience, i say go for it!
as for me, i’ll stick with my HMs, i still find it challenging and unboring… pag nabored na ko, i’ll try the full.
@journeytolife yeah nadisappoint nga ko last yr sa distance, akala ko ambilis ko na sa 10k, best PR sana…tapos yung HM daw sobra by more than 2km! hope they measure it more accurately this time, i’d still run HM here for i love the feelng of freedom along the wide roads of commonwealth ave.

To the organizer of QCIM:Parang awa nyo na, wag na wag nyong gagayahin yong patakbo ng Manila International Marathon. The worst race ever.

Well i hope the organizers would make it less difficult this year to claim the racekits….I had to go to UP on a specific date and wait and return in the afternoon to claim the rest of the kits for our team bec. some of them are going to be avail & delivered in the afternoon. Anyway, i’m not going to join this year. Goodluck to all participants and to all female runners, just be cautious & careful near manggahan road coz there will be a lot of creepy guys na makakasalubong kayo na mag aattempt mang- harass since there won’t be security marshalls in that part of the route anymore.
wht nice about this run is the design and quality of singlet. i alwys wear this singlet coz its good qualtiy. malamig and hindi irritating unlike sa mga runrio singlets. regarding loot bag. there is no loot bag here. just a nice medal for 21 and 42 k. maganda ang route. may other parts lang n parang ang daming tao n nktamby lht ng tao sa labas ng kalsada.

December 2010 nasa 10K category pa ako nuon…thank God, middle of this year nakapag-HM na ako… so I would most likely join this to cap a very good year…sana magsama-sama takbo yun mga PF Peeps, one final hooray for 2011…
ran the 10k last year… the first 5k was an uphill climb… will go for the 21k this year… hope they can make the starting area more lively… it was also a bit stinky from the public market nearby…
this run has become my official “final race” for the year…

Hi FM pips: Before I register for 42K, do you think I’m capable already or is it too soon? I only began running this year from February doing several 3Ks, 5Ks, 10Ks, and 3- 21ks finishing at 2:30(Run w/ the Masters), 2:10(Milo Elims MOA), and 2:13(Octoberrun). I’m planning my first FM here after I make 32K with RU3 on Nov.13. Age is 40y.o. and I’m a lone runner. Tnx guys.^_^

I checked @ Mizuno BHS yesterday and the shirt is of same design as the one posted above but different colors. Its Yellow (white) and Green (blue) if i remember it right. Medyo mainit ang tela but anyway it’s the experience/event that excite us more i guess.
i hope hindi palpak just like what i heard sa MIM…sana mala RUNRIO ang pag ka organize..or better..ehe
i saw the singlet of this event. wow it looks so different now. my parents are working at qc hall and parang freebies lang ng tshirt ng qc cityhall ang quality. besides ginamit nila un fabric n pinaka ayoko, un mainit at iritable isuout. sayang xpected ko p nmn maganda ang singlet. anyway cguro babawi sila sa loot bag and medal.
Hi Ronron try to aim at least for a 2 hour 2:05 half marathon first. You don’t want to finish your first marathon in 6,7,8 hours and disrespect this race, do you?

Agree, pangit ang quality ng tela at hindi iyon singlet , t-shirt ito. Nawala din yung distance na 42K na naka tatak sa side na proud kang i-tuck out, kahit di bagay , he he he. For sure iba ibang klase ng singlet ang suot natin. Makulay…

Under renovation ang Mizuno SM MOA branch kaya punta na lang kayo sa ibang registration venues.

so if i finish my marathon 6~8 hours, i am disrespecting the distance? i thought this sport is for everyone. pulling a 6 hours on a 42k is hard already. does this mean i shouldn’t join an event not unless i can go sub-5? sub-4? QCIM’s cutoff last year was 7 hours
so looking at the recent Milo Marathon there were at least 66 runners who disrespected the full marathon category and a handful from both condura marathon and cebu marathon.
using time prediction such as age grading, vo2max, riegel and cameron formula. ronron should be able to finish a marathon in 5:12 (average) with his current 21k time and also considering his age. but this will be largely influenced by a lot of factors such as training intensity, mileage, and his utilization of fat and sugar on a long run
i intend to join my 1st marathon next year and plan to finish it in 6 hours. then i guess shame on me

Nga pala, malupit yung 100y.o. na Indian dude. 89y.o. na daw siya nagstart tumakbo and finished FM around 5hrs daw. Malupit pa rin yung 8hrs niya this year considering his age, at ang mas malupit pa dun eh hindi pa paw siya ang kulelat or last to finish the race.

as ive mentioned on another thread, i have friends who finishes a marathon in over 6 hours and they do it with pride and honor
it seems that Cuteboy is a competitive person. perhaps he is a qualifier by finishing in 3:45 during Milo Elims. who knows
i, for one, is not a fast runner but i do practice runs every week. in order to improve, become better and maintain a healthy lifestyle like most people that i know

I have high hopes for this run and I’m pretty positive it will not end up as another “MIM”. :p
Nakakalungkot naman na there are other runners in the running community who seem to look down on other runners who finish ‘slow’ and beyond the cut off time ng race. I’m expecting to finish my 1st ever marathon at The Bull Runner Dream Marathon next year with around 6-7 hours in mind and the best thing about it is that there are people from the TBRDM who will cheer for us in spite of the time. Who says running is about who finishes first? It’s all having the heart, the determination and the patience to finish what you’ve started. Peace @cuteboy! :)

Hi guys. Tapusin ko muna 32K ng RU3 before magregister dito for 42K. Pero nakita ko yung shirt ng QCIM, mas ok pa nga ang fabric nila kesa sa RU3. Choice talaga siguro ng Unilab to go for the cheapest possible items para makatipid, meaning labas na ang Runrio dito tungkol sa issue ng singlet. Because sa ibang Runrio organized event naman eh malulupit ang singlet tulad na lang ng sa Nike. So nandun talaga sa naghohost ng event ang salarin.
As for QCIM, Runnex daw ang organizer.

@ronron: i think u have a point, coz even if the runrio team would want to have a quality singlet like in the 2 previous trilogies, if the host sponsor would give a certain budget for every singlet, wala rin magagawa si coach rio, let us remember that in business kung ano gusto ng client yun ang masusunod since they are the ones who are gonna provide the funds. SA ibang runrio events na lang sumali, in chevrolet-newbalance, the tech shirt is really of good quality type kaya hindi dapat si coach rio ang i-criticize ;)

The regular registration period ends on Oct. 30 to give the race organizers sufficient time to have an orderly runners’ list for the results in the four footraces and their various age categories.

1. the said Php500 for mizuno was not true, u can use it when u buy shoes only at MIzuno main office.. but not for apparel ( parang ayaw talaga ibigay ng mizuno)
2. they dont know if there was finisher’s medal or finisher’s shirt..
3. installment details of the organizer considering 5 weeks n lang ang race!

@mj: Sa RU3 may 32K, dun din ako join bago dito. Balak ko nga sana after that saka pa lang ako magregister dito, kaso up to Oct.30 nga lang daw.

1. there will be a finishers medal for 21k & 42k.
2. Last year when i participated no finishers shirt was given
3. We got a free powerade drink
4. The route starts at Philcoa mercury, traversing through up, then out again going to commonwealth avenue.
3. If this will be the saem route this year, the 21k runner will run along commonwealth until near manggahan and then loop back; 42k runners will also run the same route but on the loop back they will run going to ecopark and then bakc to commonwealth again to the finish line.
4. No problem with male runners, female runners will have to be cautious of the bystanders after passing Sandiganbayan, bec. last year, there were no visible security up to manggahan road. There are a lot of hecklers and rude bystanders in that area that i was force to run really fast just to get away from them
5. We claimed our race kits at UP diliman and if ur unlucky you will have to wait until after lunch for the next batch of kits to arrive.
6. The finisher’s medal last year is really nice.

It’s 7hrs cut-off time for 42k. Nagparegister na ako kahapon (alarmed kasi ako sa post ni allan sa itaas). Charge to experience na lang come what may. I’ve had some similar experience naman na with MIM dun sa Run with the Masters regarding dodging vehicles along the route and rowdy bystanders, and if miss Cecille got out of it alive last year, then most likely ako rin since I’m a dude.
@Ms. Mars: Girl, i wont join this year, i can’t do a back to back 21k with Milo baka maulit ang injury ko from last year, both my legs were terribly sore. It was actually fun coz of change of venue, they just have to increase security for the safety of the runners.
@ronron: funny ka talaga, alam mo ba i have to hug myself just to cover the upper part of my body from the hecklers & what wonders can extreme fear did to me, sobrang sakit ng both legs ko but on the loop back i was able to run really fast. Nag walk ulit ako near ever na, coz the highway in that area is very wide.

deadline is November 20.
about sa Php500 off Mizuno, sa shoes lang siya applicable at sa Magallanes store lang din sya applicable so not all Mizuno branches accdg dun sa Mizuno staff.

why a sudden 30-70% increase of reg. fees from last year? Nakalagay pa naman sa frontpage ng official website “As race organizer, RUNNEX aims to separate the QCIM from the other running events by making it inclusive, AFFORDABLE, advocacy driven, sustainable and enjoyable to all.” Running on organized fun runs/marathon nowadays is not cheap already. Sad to say thats the current trend. If you want this event sustainable, please make it affordable even to ordinary Juan. Also noticed the bigtime sponsor for this year, di ba dapat mas magmura pa reg fee? Still am running for this event (1st time to run on this route & hopefully not the last).

went to second wind in maginhawa kanina to check the shirt hmmmm sorry pero panget talaga siya at for sure magcause nang Chafing not being bad pero smdc naman ang parang partner,sponsor or anu man sana man lang yung magandang quality at yung design,,sabi nila kuya okey lang naman hindi yun yung isuot eh oo nga naman pwede kaso sayang naman kasi parang yun na yung flag nang qcim for this year nweiz sasali pa din ako :)
di man lang naginform na mago-off pala mga registration personnel ng qcim… sinadya ko pa naman megamall today since 2 registration venues… ayun, pareho walang tao… hassle a… pag di ako nakahanap ng time pumunta sa mga not so accessible reg sites nila within the week, its gonna be animo run for me!

I also did not join because of the singlet. Who would like to wear a thickly-fabricated shirt while running long distance and secondly, it surely not a worthy collectible item. Pass muna ko, next year na lang uli.

I wore the singlet for 2 hours running, ok naman siya no chaffing, di naman siya mainit. Medyo magaspang nga lang ang tela niya.

Maganda 21 K medal nito last year, worthy of the sweat and pain of running more than 21K (23K kasi ang actual na sukat last year).
First ultra half marathon ko sa QCIM last year (23k daw kasi kaya ultra). Will join for my last half and full marathon na dapat after QCIM.:)

registered na ko dito for my 2nd FM. magaspang masyado yung shirt. baka hinde ko rin isuot sa race. mas comfortable pa din ako sa singlet. what time ba talaga gunstart ng 42K? yung nakalagay kasi sa race kit, 4am gunstart ng 42K tapos dito sa forums 3:30am. nako, parang ganito din yung sa MIM ah. madami na-late non kasi 4am nakalagay na gunstart sa race kit eh 3:30am yung actual gunstart

made my first 32k yesterday gunstart was 4:30… sobrang init na ng mga 6:45,,, making us runners weaker and slower…
sana ung gun start ng 42k is 3am… dahil ang estimated time ko for 42k is 4:00-4:20 hrs… if 4am ang start around 8am na matatapos karamihan ng runners… sobrang init na nun, delikado bka may ma heat stroke…
still thinking if i’ll join 42k,

Hi everybody! May nakakaalam ba sa inyo kung saan pwede mag park? Paano ang traffic re-routing? Kung mag commute nalang kami, may bag counter kaya? Thank you in advance for your help.
…there is a pay parking entrance at the QC circle… park somewhere near the exit gates or near the entrance gate… the parking areas are quite dark… just avoid leaving your valuables in the passenger or driver seats… leave it at the trunk and double check your car alarms… usually runners park their cars along the main roads… as long as there are other cars nearby, i think it’s OK…
@runrommel: hehe… true… sasakit nga ang binti mo… also, first 3km will definitely bring up your heart rate.. did the 10km last year… all uphill ang first 5kms… kahit pababa ka na sa second half, medyo laspag na ako due to the 1st half climb… organizers should highlight this to all runners… this is as grueling as McKinley Road… the road is so wide you will not notice the elevation…

the fabric quality of the tshirt is soooooooo far from the last year.. i really loved last year… i think i will get allergies from this material… i might not wear it during the run… just my opinion… it does not suit the level for an internation marathon… I mean no offense, but I hope this would be taken into account for the next year.

I’m torn between QCIM and Animo Run. :( I’m a lasallian but I also wanted to join this international marathon and QC is a new place for me to run. :(
i dont think its bad to share your thoughts about the singlet…i think it is constructive criticism.. because for the price (P500 – P850?) i think we all deserve somehow a good quality shirt..whatever run category… wala naman ata pupunthan charity yung proceeds so i dont see why is the quality so bad…if there is what do we do with the many sponsors.. goodness… i just cant help compare it to last year..if you say dont run if all you care about is the freebies and the singlet.. thats not the point… it is the prestige.. and prestige is the whole package… and others may not see it… but this affects it somehow.. coz not everybody is wearing the singlet/tshirt.. coz your body will feel difficulty in breathing in it..sana hindi na lang ginawang t-shirt kung ganoon yung tela… i myt wear it pa… how will others appreciate the run .. an international run.. if everybody is wearing different colors/ singlets… yun lang naman…. hindi mo feel yung prestige…
Wow lapit na talaga QCIM 3….nga pala ask lang mga co- runners sinu po ba may ma sa suggest dyan na place na magandang mag praktice run every weekend, at sana un safe kahit papaano di delikado sa mga sasakyan..near lang ako dito sa mira nila and tiera pura area. may alam ako dito sa congressional ext.papuntang bandang luzon ave na ata un dulo nito.mahaba din syang route ..un nga lang kukunti ang tumatakbo un tuloy medyo nakakaalangan din..pero safe naman sya sa tingin ko..dati kasi U.P Campus and Circle ang madalas namin takbuhan ,kaya lang pag late kana magising sa morning sayang naman ang oras para travel kapa paunta lang u.p and circle …basta if may time kayo at alam nyo lugar na sinasabi ko sana kita kits tayo maganda naman sa congressional road..mabuhay ang mga runners !!!
Siguro ang point ng ibang runners eh sana medyo maayos ang singlet since nag babayad sila ng medyo mataas na reg fee. Pero then again, running nowadays is a business na. So the organizers will look for ways to save costs.
And you join runs for the run not for the giveaways, photo booths, singlets. Yun medal for me is an added bonus since it signifies your effort for finishing something you trained hard for.
They can make cheap singlets all they want, I don’t give a damn basta ba ang mismong race ayusin nila at di nila tipirin ang mga hydration stations. At tama ang sukat ng route.
Isa pa I cannot understand people who bash races. Pwede naman di mag register sa race na ayaw nila pero kelangan pa ba pag paguran ang pang babash? Wala naman pumipilit sa kanila pero kung makapag post akala mo tinutukan ng baril at pinupwersa ng mga organizers to join.

pero im sure my Mind doesnt know whats coming!!

yan namang namimintas sa mga quality ng singlet,siguro di naman talaga runners yan,kailangan natin na ma mulat na tayo sa mga ganitong activities,kung ti-tingin tayo sa mga ganda ng singlet,di marathon hanap natin,kung sa tingin natin negosyo lang patakbo,hwag tayong sumali.
sa totoo lang,ma full pledge natin yung full marathon,yun ang totoong tuma-takbo,di pami-mintas at pagandahan ng singlet,yun lang po,kita kita na lang tayo mga runners
Please please sana po yung 21k maging sakto 21k or kung sobra man, wag naman po abot 22-23k tulad sa last year. Gusto ko maka sub 2 dito ulit pero pag more than 21k malabo na yun mangyari. Goodluck po sa ating lahat esp sa mga full marathoners! :-)

do they have baggage counter for this run?
how about hydration, will they serve sports drink or banana along the race course?
what’s the separation between each hydration station?

no bad comments..if you dont want to join wag kayo pumunta and if youre doubt on the route..tingnan nyo n lng ung race map..indicated n nga ung route eh..lets just enjoy the race..ingat ingat lng bcause anything could happen..comm ave yan..killer hiway..hehe..see you runners..

pahabol lang po. Pwede bang mag park sa loob ng circle para makapag overnight prior to the morning race. or meron po bang nearest hotel sa venue ng race.
the parking area along QC circle might be closed on the night before the race… you can try using google for searching hotels near the QC circle..

less than 24 hrs., raceday na! :) excited and nervous right now. ETA ko sa 42k is 5.5 – 6 hrs. Sino sa inyo may ganitong pace din? Para sasabayan ko na lang. Baka ako huli matapos :(

Did a practice run last Friday morning for our first 42km.
Okay to run at the UP area. Kaya lang, lalamigin ka lately with the cool December breeze in the morning, yung tipong papasok ang lamig sa buto mo. After mga 8am we hit the Commonwealth area. Mainit na siya given the concrete roads. Iwas sa mga tae ng tao on the corner sidewalk pavement at dami kasi iskwater doon. Di na namin tinuloy going to La Mesa at dami na sasakyan. Baka sa sirang hangin kami magkasakit. Overall, it is an exciting route for 42km runners. Hoping for a clear day!

Very excited na ako for tom, i will be running with my son for the 21k distance. This will be my 2nd 21k run. D first was yamaha kaya lang nagka ITB injury ako so i will be using knee braces this time.

You can park at Quezon Circle slots, then take underpass going to City Hall. You may also park at Quezon City Hall parking lots if you’re coming from EDSA/East Avenue. We will have marked QCIM parking areas. Thank you.

The La Mesa dam view was so beautiful nawala pagod ko :)
