About the Beneficiaries

The Sr. Maria Bertilla Vangelista Home for Children is an orphanage dedicated to Sr. Maria Bertilla Vangelista, a member of the Congregation, who strongly desired to continue the work of Mother Chiara Biagotti in the care of the poor, abandoned and orphaned children.

The Home envisions educated young girls to be Christ-centered, instruments of peace, agents of wholesome growth and development who love their fellowmen by doing works of charity.

13 orphans with ages 4 to 14 will be the beneficiaries of the run for a cause.

The Venue

Fernando Air Base is the Summer Capital of the Philippine Air Force located at 1,220 feet above sea level in the City of Lipa, Batangas Province. A 220 hectare sugar cane field, the Japanese used it as an airfield during World War II.

Today Fernando Air Base is the home of the Air Education and Training Command of the PAF where every airman is trained to become professional and competent soldiers, leaders and defenders of the Philippine nation.

Fun Run Details

500 Meter Dash
– Children 6-9 years old
– Children 10-12 years old

3K (Must cross the finish line together.)
– Family of 3-4 (Mother, Father and Children 12 years and below)

Gun Start:
5K – 5:00 P.M.
3K – 5:05 P.M.
500m – 5:10 P.M.

On-site registration starts at 3:00 P.M. and will officially close at 4:30 P.M. on March 24, 2012 at the AETC Grandstand.
Only runners who made reservations via TEXT or EMAIL can make on-site registration.
Deadline for reservations will be 5:00 P.M. March 22, 2012
Proceeds of the fun run will be given to the beneficiary in cash or in kind during the awarding program.
Finisher’s Certificate will be given to all runners who cross the finish line.
Prizes will be given to the top 3 finishers in each category. Special Awards will be given.

  1. this is a noble cause with minimal fee. I encourage everyone living nearby Fernando Air Base at Lipa city to join this event. I can’t commit to be at the area, but I try my best if I have time.

  3. How to go to Fernando Air Base, Lipa City?

    Via Provincial Bus – Take a Batangas bound bus from any of South Bus Terminals in Buendia, Alabang, EDSA-Pasay City, EDSA-Quezon City or Ali Mall Cubao. Chose via SLEX-STARTOLLWAY/CALBARZON for faster travel. Dismount at Tambo, Lipa Exit. This takes an hour of travel at P120-P130 fare. Take Mataas na Kahoy bound jeepney and tell the driver to drop you at the Air Base. 5-10 mins jeepney ride @ P7. Enter the main gate and deposit a valid ID to the guard.

    Via car – Take (SKYWAY) SLEX straight to STARTOLLWAY/CALABARZON interconnection then exit at Tambo, Lipa Exit. Total toll fee is P274 one way. Turn left then 5-10 mins you will see a large tarpaulin of the air base on your right followed by the main gate. Deposit a valid license or ID to enter Fernando Air Base.

    The orphans need basic provisions like school shoes, slippers, clothing, toiletries such as soap, toothpaste. Toys are also welcome. We will post more of the list of items they need.

    Gun Starts

    500m – 4:30 P.M.
    3K and 5K – 5:00 P.M.

    Dress codes for the event:

    500m dash – wear white
    3K – wear blue
    5K- wear red

    Registration Fee: P50.00 per runner.

    Children who ran in the 500m dash may run the 3K at no added fee.

    On-site registration starts at 3:00PM and will officially close at 4:15 P.M. on D-day, March 24, 2012 at the Fernando Air Base Grandstand.

    Only runners who made reservations via TEXT or EMAIL can make on-site registration.

    Last day for TEXT or EMAIL reservations will be at 5PM on March 23, 2012.

    For security purposes, bring a valid ID to be deposited at the Guard Desk at the Main Gate of Air Base. IDs will be given back once you go out of the Air Base.

  8. The 440th AMG Run for the Orphans 2012 will be a scenic sunset run inside the Fernando Air Base for everyone to enjoy on March 24, 2012. Route will closed to vehicles. So bring your cameras.   9. Good luck to all runners for the 440th AMG Run for the Orphans 2012 tomorrow, Saturday, March 24 at the Fernando Air Base Grandstand, Lipa City Batangas. More than 500 heed our call for this noble run for a cause. It is also heartwarming to note that many entities have given donations in cash and kind to make the event happen. And no less than the new Commander, Air Education and Training Command, BGEN EDGARDO RENE C SAMONTE AFP, will run and hand over the gifts to 13 female orphans of the Sr. Maria Bertilla Vangelista Home for Children. It is just a matter of time and we will all accomplish our cause the BAYANIHAN and KAWANG-GAWA tradition.

    Here are the final reminders to all participants.

    For civilian participants, bring a valid ID to be deposited at the Air Base Main Gate. There will be men in uniform who will assist the participants in the entry to the camp.

    Vehicle parking will be at the back of the Headquarters area near the Grandstand and at the parking area in front of the new VIP lounge (old Golf Club). Parking plan map will be given to participants entering the base with private vehicles. Deposit a Driver’s License at the guard.

    Access to the Air Base for civilians within the event venue and route is from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM.

    Onsite registration will begin at 3:00 PM at the Grandstand. Registration fee is P 50.00 per runner.

    Formal hand-over of gifts to the orphans will be at 5:40 PM.

    Top 3 finishers will receive Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals respectively.

    All finishers will get a Finisher’s Certificate.

    There will be raffle prizes to be drawn for the runners.

    Water stations, ambulance and race marshals will be available for the safety of all participants.

    There will be a designated Baggage deposit area.

    Comfort rooms will be available on both sides of the Grandstand.

    There will be mobile food stations selling products to the runners.

    Picnic is allowed in the parade grounds near the Grandstand.
