  3. hhhhmmmm……
    About NATGEO booth on GB3…
Are their organizer know what they’re doing? I know they’re doing their job but they’re still lacking… maybe it’s their system… they don’t have a prepared procedure when a certain problems comes like the lack of shirt, long line of registering, delayed deliveries, questions ask by the client about NATGEOrun, etc…
they should keep in mind that they represent the National Geographic Channel and they have an expensive rate so their client expect some formal and professional services from them…

    P.S.
learn from your mistake and error…

  4. Finally,
I received my race kit yesterday. :)
    Thanks~ Thanks!
May God’s Love be with us!

Good luck and God Bless everyone! :)

  5. lets see what will happen when i go to Greenbelt 3 outlet today to claim my long delayed 2 singlets. one also for my sister.
acdg to Joel, one of the staffers, last night daw uli magkaka-supply April 2…

un naman kasi cguro shirt supplier nila, tanggap ng tanggap ng orders that cant meet the deadline eh…backlog tuloy…haaaay!

  6. thank God that after 3 failed visits to the Greenbelt booth to claim our singlets, i finally got my shirts! was offered a size L instead of the XL i originally requested for which was avail on site.

personally got to talk with Manager Nicole and have vented to her my frustration and disappointment that the delay is causing. told her that NATGEO is getting a lot of negative feedbacks re the singlets delay esp on forums and blogs. she is aware of all these and tried to explain the reason why. in the end, i apologized for being emotional a bit and clarified that what we participants are complaining abt is the super delay in the system of providing an item what is due us…

  7. i went to GB3 kanina to register but we have to call the hotline first bago pupunta ulit sa GB3 if available na ang singlet hehe! nice nauubusan pala? di ba nila inaanticipate ilan ang sasali considering natgeo is a very big name at super sikat? hmmm…

  8. I just registered online April 2, 2011 for 21K, I am worried if the race kit will be delivered before race day! Anyone here who can give me numbers to follow up my race kit

  9. I just got my race kit today. They gave me XXL when I ordered XS. That’s 5 sizes bigger with the amount we paid for I’d thought I won’t have problems like that. Hyundai was free but I got the size that I wanted. I hope the event is better than how they handled the registrations and singlet.

  10. I’m so angry at NatGeo Earth Day Run Organizers! I registered on March 20th and was told that they have no size M shirts, and that i have to call them for confirmation. They told me on the phone last March 22nd that their shirts will be delivered on saturday (March 26)… and DEFINITELY will be available on Sunday when i come to pick it up! I went back… NO SHIRT! I let it slide… i told them next Sunday they should have my size already. Comes Sunday (April 3), they told me again that there is no size M or any stock sizes of that matter. I was really irked by this. They gave me a lot of excuses, about they were given a three day extra just to be able to give out the shirts. And made promises that i will get my shirt. They told me to come back on Tuesday. On Tuesday… they have nothing to offer me. NOTHING! I was told to come back the next day, Wednesday, the last day of their stall.
I met 2 strangers who also have this kind of problem and also have been to the greenbelt 3 booth a lot of times already. And i asked the organizers what will they give us in return if they don’t have the shirts to give us, because WE PAID FOR THEM! You know what they replied? “What do you want ba sir?” I told them to do their job and give us what they have promised! I’m shocked that NATGEO would hire these people, and EVENTKING CORP (the organizer) will have these kind of people. We paid good money (expensive to be definite), and then get this kind of attitude in return??!!
EVENTKING CORP is a big company that organizes fun runs for big named companies… and they are doing this to the people who joins the company’s cause? They are advertising that Registration Fee INCLUDES a limited edition NatGeo Fun Run Technical Shirt. This means we have the right to own a NatGeo Fun Run Shirt when we pay their entry fee. But in this case, they are telling us that they don’t have stock, they have problems with their suppliers… ok, we tolerated that and came back to pick up what should have been available in the first place. But until now… they are giving us false promises… ALL THE TIME! They are cheating us out by having “first come first serve” and “no reservation” remarks thrown at us! When we register at the stall… WE SHOULD HAVE A SHIRT RIGHT THERE AND THEN! NO EXCUSES! They are liable and accountable to those terms. Meaning… They can be sued!
If the organizers have a problem with their suppliers… then have more suppliers for the shirts!
They should have made a public apology that they have falsely advertised their running kit. They should have announced that it’s a limited edition shirt and also LIMITED stocks… then maybe we would have let it go… but NOOO… they didn’t… they keep on spinning you around and telling you to come back again. A lot of people have wasted gas money just to claim these shirts… that somehow mysteriously ran out.

Note to everybody… know who are the organizers of the fun run you are joining.

  11. Oh, by the way, the organizers of this Earth Day Run said that they will not release any shirt on the Run Date itself. Go figure… because i can’t understand myself.

  12. It’s not yet the event day but things are going for the worst … no singlets for all sizes… broken promises… rude staff… I bet it’s gonna be a riot on Sunday … I wanted to refund but they won’t allow it… Still don’t have a singlet… What a mess!

  13. Puro negative comments dito!…buti na lang hindi ako nagparegister, sobrang mahal na hindi pa organize!..what more kung sa event proper na mismo…wow
    labo!…

  14. @ ARNOLD

you may try contacting NATGEO secretariat
Greenbelt 3 outlet at 223-4961. look for Manager Nicole.

good luck with ur race kit!

  15. @ ELDIPONS

you are right po! me and my sister were there for the HYUNDAI FREE FUN RUN and we had a blast of an awesome time!

i agree with you 200% sir!

  16. @ STAGEN SI

had the very same sentiments like yours. me and my sister registered March 15th and i too had to go back at least 4x to Greenbelt 3 to hear the same thing and excuses that the shirts are not avail, its first come first served basis, they are having supplier problems, etc etc…and apologies are not enough becoz its indeed a waste of our time, money, gas and effort to pick up an item that is due to us.

at Greenbelt last Sunday April 3, i vented out my sentiments to Manager Nicole and told her that how come we are having this problem on the shirt supplies and size availabilities and couldnt help but compare NatGeo to the success of HYUNDAI’s Free Fun Run,(so organized) considering that their reg fees are very expensive. she mentioned that its NatGEO dealing with the suppliers and theyve got their hands tied. all they can say is sorry, sorry, sorry…i also witnessed an irate runner venting out to one of the staffers that she is tired of coming back on the dates she was promised there wud be shirt stock already. tsk tsk..

i requested for a size XL shirt and what they got in stock was Size L which i took home instead since i dont want to go back there again on Tues April 5 which she said was their last day. was pessimistic that the shirts wont arrive that day and true enough problem again!

recently got an email from NatGEO calling out to all those who havent claimed their shirts yet to get it from Greenbelt on April 7 to 9 during mall hours…wohoo! wow, boy who cried wolf?

i cannot imagine how this Earth Run race would turn out on actual day this coming Sunday…

  17. @ Ms. Mars

Thank you for commenting. I appreciate that you have also voiced out your dissatisfaction.

I’ve got my shirt today (wednesday). I have to miss a half day’s work just to get this. To add to their uneffeciency, i found out that they (YES, the organizers/EventKing Staffs) are misinforming the people who haven’t claimed their shirts yet. This is what i’m angry about… they keep on saying this over and over everytime i called or went to their stall to check. They keep on telling people to drop by 11am to 8pm anytime to get their singlets. People would think that they have stocks of all sizes that would last the whole day. No they don’t. GUYS… THEY DON’T! So if you are still willing to get your shirts or have your shirt size changed… sacrifice a morning (SIGH! NOT AGAIN!) to claim them.
I was at Greenbelt 3 around 10am to wait for the mall to open. 10:30am, NATGEO stall is open already and a line is starting to form. Thank GOD! I did see now the stocks of shirts! And their staff is giving the shirts out to claimers. It wasn’t a long line but the stocks of shirts are easily gone. GONE! in a matter of 30 minutes. Luckily, i got mine. So what in the world were they (the organizers) talking about to drop by ANYTIME from 11am to 8pm to claim your shirts? They should have told the truth that you HAVE to claim your shirt in the morning. IN THE MORNING!
This in turn… they dug their own grave… and we participants have to suffer through this ordeal. What is wrong with them?!?! This is the part that I don’t understand.
They don’t seem to have a second delivery within the day. So guys, i advice you to go in the morning.

peace! and hopefully see you guys in the event with your shirts.

  18. Whoa whoa whoah… Mukang madami nahassle sa shirts a… Luckily, I’m not one of them. Pero my sentiments still go with you guys, we have the right to expect a better service since, hey, it’s NATGEO right?

Let us just hope that the organizers read all these comments, learn from it, and maybe… Just maybe, make up for it come actual race day.

Speaking of actual race, I think that eventking took Rio as race director so I have high hopes :) and yes, I also got the email regarding the change of route in the 21k race… Now I’m assuming that the route would be similar to the March 6 run united… So for those like me who ran that same route, I guess it’s a good chance to beat our PRs “facing the same adversary” right?! :)

So come Sunday, itakbo na Lang natin mga sama ng loon naten! Lezzgo!!!

  21. @PJ LAMAN
The Greenbelt 3 NATGEO stall is extended till April 9. I advice you to go in the morning 10am to claim your shirt. As the Run date is getting nearer, the line might be longer. Godbless. I hope you get your shirt. :O)

  24. Hi.. Just like to ask if there are still available singlets for 10k? If yes, what sizes are avail po? And confirm ko lang, registration still open til tom until what time? Can I still do the registration online and pay via cc?

  25. Dear Runners,

When the first National Geographic Earth Day Run was held last year, the running community unselfishly showed an outpouring of support through an overwhelming runner turn-out. Not only did runners enjoy celebrating Earth Day with a good run at the SM Mall of Asia, everyone also made a mark in raising awareness for the need to care for Mother Earth.

With this successful event in mind, The National Geographic Channel decided to bring to the community another edition of this race this 2011. Now, the race will be in a much bigger and better venue and can definitely cater to a growing and improving population of runners. In addition, this year’s edition will also feature the 21km-distance as an additional race category.

True enough, the interest that this year’s edition of the race generated an even greater number of participants. In fact, the National Geographic Earth Day Run 2011 almost had double of last year’s total registrants as it reached a record number 10,300.. And as we closed registration today, we have been continuously receiving requests for registration period extension and reopening of slots for all race categories.

We thank everyone for the support that they have consistently given to the National Geographic Earth Day Run. But along with the gratitude, we also would like to apologize for the problems that that some of you encountered regarding the availability of the technical shirts. We did our best to plan the process to avoid such problems but the rapid growth of participants caused unavoidable delays in production of the shirts. Because of the surge in demand, our supplier temporarily ran out of materials for the shirt coupled with an unfortunate breakdown of their machines for a couple of days.

This unavailability of the shirts was also the main reason why delivery of race kits for online registrants was delayed. Since we have guaranteed that online registrants should receive the shirt size that they have indicated during registration, we had to wait for the succeeding delivery of shirts before we ship out the race kits. Again, we apologize that this scenario had to happen.

As of April 5, we have serviced 80% of the actual requirements and we look forward to being able to service all by completing deliveries for the last 20%. As we do this, we would like to let everyone know of the following courses of action:

Give the 10km registrants the BLACK shirts, instead of the original GRAY shirts as the black shirts are readily available.
Extend the schedule for release/claiming of the YELLOW shirts starting on Thursday, April 7 until Saturday, April 9 to give the registrants ample time to claim the shirt as we are expecting final delivery of these shirts by, April 6.
For the registrants who were able to grab any of the last 500 slots each for both 3km and 5km race categories, we would also like to assure you that the shirt you will be receiving two months after the race will be in your correct size. In addition, registrants will need not claim their shirts as this will be delivered in coordination with our courier-partner and with us shouldering the courier expense.

It is our greatest endeavor to ensure everyone who registered for this race event to be able to receive their shirts before race day. That is why as mentioned earlier, the Greenbelt 3 Mall registration center will be open to service everyone who will have to claim their shirt sizes at an extended period of April 7 to 9.

Again, we would like to truly apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for choosing to celebrate Earth Day and running with us at the National Geographic Earth Day Run 2011 on April 10, 2011.

    Sincerely yours,

    Mr. Jude Turcuato
    Territory Director
    Fox International Channels – Philippines

  26. HELLO, IS THERE A WAY TO CONTACT NATGEO RUN ORGANIZERS? WE STILL DONT HAVE THE SHIRT NG FRIEND KO, THE NUMBER THEY GAVE US EITHER WALANG SUMASAGOT OT NAKA OFF, I EMAILED THE SECRETARIAT NA DIN, IT IS SO FRUSTRATING!!! SA SUNDAY NA YUNG RUN >.<

  27. Like in my post sa Hyundai thread, I plan to wear the Hyundai singlet in my future runs…so why not start with NatGeo’s? =) Suggestion lang lalo na sa mga runners na hindi nakakuha ng shirt (I got one pero superlaki at naubusan na daw). I think some of you ran in Hyundai’s free run.

  28. thank you for the letter from Fox Intl Territory Dir Jude Turcuato. explaining the backlog of tech shirts.
the negative feedbacks shld have been appeased if this letter was released at least last week…
better late than never, so they say…

didnt know this year’s Earth Day run is only NatGeo’s 2nd running event…thot this was going on for sometime.

  29. HAPPY EARTH DAY RUN everybody! several fun run’s have taken place today bec its Earth Day celebration. and jst got home from my 1st and NATGEO’s 2nd year earth run!

thousands of peeps did show up as early as 4AM for their respective distances.kaka insprie naman…
each category from 21K, 10K and to 5K had respective fireworks start offs aside from the usual gun starts. no more firewrks during the 3K kc maliwanag na, hehe.
isang wave lang of peeps per distance.

lots of NATGEO’s co-sponsors were there too thru their booths like Canon, Seleus watch, Skechers, Merrell, 100 Plus energy drink, Del Monte Fit&Right, and Summit waters for hyrdration and Greenwich plus Tapa King food meals.

the only eye sore that made me go tsk tsk were the water cups during hydration moment. the runners kc jst throw it on the sideroad. there were no cup pickers rightaway unlike sa HYUNDAI fun run, their bottled water were bagged rightaway. so clean as you run din dpat db?

all the 21K finishers got their medals! wohooo congrats! dami pa nga naiwang medals eh. i only did 3K but it was one of my personal bests! thank you NATGEO, it was still a success despite the shirt dilemma…

next event: Run with the Masters – April 17 @ the Luneta (again)! see ya!

  30. @ RUNSnROSES

yes, in fairness i saw some peeps who wore their HYUNDAI fun run singlets today at the NATGEO run event! there were even UNILAB shirts as well, wala namang kaso eh. as long we are ONE in the goal of saving and taking care of Mother Planet
    Earth!

my yellow/black NATGEO shirt looked ok and i hope di magbakbak the black portion during washing. some runners kc complained abt that. :-(

  31. 2 thumbs down for Natgeo. Poorly organized. First were the shirts, a lot of people werent able to get their shirts. ( its ok runners, the shirt isnt as nice as the gl0be run for home). Second, there were a lot of runners for 3k and 5k.(there should have been a timing chip) The runners at the start line backed up a bit, pity for those who were in the end part. Third, late start, the sun was up for the 10k start. So much for the 4am assembly time. I will definitely avoid future run organized by -edited-. This race is overhyped.

  32. results are out..
    and they are not accurate!
we were late to start and our chip time was definitely not the same as the gun time.. we didn’t pay a thousand pesos just for poor services and inconsistent results.. ang jologs pa.. pdf!

  33. basta ang alam ko i joined takbo.ph run sa alabang…ang i enjoyed much…reviewing all the comments regarding this run..nakakalungkot isipin but good thing i was not able to try to register..
