  1. Thanks po sa mga pointers prends hindi ko na mention names censya.1st time milo run ko to and if ever my first 21k.

    Hindi nako masyado makasunod sa mga coments. Hindi malinaw sakin ung “qualifying time”. Meron p pla un? Ty

    • Meron po. Dito sa Manila leg (42K only) ang qualifying time ay depende sa age bracket mo. Say, and age bracket mo ay nasa 18-34, then ang qualifying time mo ay 3hrs 45min and so on. That said, pag natapos mo ang 42K within the qualifying time, automatic pong kasali na kayo sa National Finals sa December 2013. Check nyo po ang Milo handbook for other qualifying times based on age bracket.

      question. ung registration ba na open ay sa Riovanna? kasi sa Tobys MOA, by 3rd week pa daw. o sa online pa lang pwede magregister?

    • @ 1dong, merong time limit, cut-off time at quaifying time. See below info from milo. :-)

      TIME LIMITS:
      Runners should reach a particular distance within the time limit specified to be allowed to continue with the race. Otherwise, runner must stop running and board the official vehicle. They are automatically disqualified and will be taken directly to the finish venue.

      CUT-OFF TIMES:
      Each race category has an official cut-off time:

      QUALIFYING TIMES
      To qualify and compete in the national finals, runners in the 42.195K Manila elimination race will have to finish the race within the specified age-bracket and time:

      IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

      • A valid ID must be presented upon registration. For group registration, a photocopy of any valid ID must be presented by the representative.
      • Singlet size availability will be on a first come first served basis.
      • A disposable timing device will be used by all participants during the race.
      • Finishers in all categories within the cut-off time will receive a certificate of finish.
      • All 21-K finishers within the cut-off time will receive a finisher’s medal and loot bag.
      • All 42.195K finishers within the cut-off time will receive a finisher’s medal, a loot bag,and an exclusive finisher’s shirt.

    malamang after the race marami na naman complaints pag di nakatanggap ng medal at lootbags :))

    • uu nga po… make it 2am na pls… personally,,, payag din ako kahit gawing 12am ang gun start like condura… para hnd na abutan ng araw…. hehehe ^___^

    • Mukhang malabo na maiusob pa ang guntime earlier. Kaya dapat kasama sa training ang init at hindi na biro ang sikat ng araw pagdating na ng 8-9 a.m. coupled with depleted energy and exhaustion.

    • Ako last year, nag 21 km ako. Di ako umabot sa cut- off time. So wala akong medal at finisher’s shirt. Ang masaklap pa, di rin nag- appear name ko sa results. Lahat ng categories, mga nakapasok lang sa cut- off time ang nasa official race results… =(

    • Natapos ko 42k last year in finisher’s cutoff time of 6hrs at natanggap ko nman medal/loot bag/finisher’s shirt, at yung iba lagpas na 6hrs eh nakareceive pa rin. So unless siguro lumampas ka ng sobra after 6hrs, dun ka lang mauubusan talaga.

    • Ang definition ng finisher sa milo eh matapos yung race within cutoff times.

      Kung lagpas sa cutoff kahit tapusin yung buong distance, hindi pa rin finisher.

      Sa finishline usually bibigay agad ang medal ng 42k tapos may puntahan na dedicated booths para sa shirt at loot bag.

      Pero sa opinyon ko lang, ang importante eh ang matapos ang 42k within 6 hours nang walang injuries. Bonus na lang ang medals at shirt… At ang 6 hours eh sobrang generous na. Masyado nang lumalaki ang risk habang tumatagal sa daan.

    • ayon po sa milo marathon regform…. ITEM No. 28) Each race category has an OFFICIAL CUT-OFF TIME THAT WILL COMMENCE RIGHT AFTER THE LAST RUNNER HAS CROSSED THE STARTING LINE…

      sa tingin ko po yung naka-ALL CAPS e hindi napapansin at yung 6hrs (for 42k), 2.5hrs (for 21k), etc lang ang pinapansin…ihihihihihi

      ibig sabihin po nyan kung yung huling runner e nag-cross ng starting line 30 minutes after ng gunstart (ibig sabihin ang daming tumakbo ^_^) for 42k, edi hanggang 6.5 hours yung cutoff time ng 42k… yun po :)

      • hi! I read the handbook twice already, but still, I’m confused between the cut-off time and time limits on Page 5. so I’ll use a scenario na lang for my concern:

        Let’s say that I finished the 21K race at 2hrs and 40min. Will I be getting a finisher medal, or I really have to stick to 2hr and 30min?

        I’m seeking advice because this will be (fingers crossed) my first 21K, and first try at a Milo event. Thanks!

      • tama… mas mahal pa ung milo pack na bibilin mo kesa sa shipping fee na ichacharge sau sa online reg… reg na kayo sa online… better secure your slot kesa sa maubusan! aantayin mo nlng dumating ung kit sa bahay nyo… all you need to focus is to train, train harder, and train some more…

      • @swoosh: I think you got wrong “the shipping fee is way more pricey than buying the Milo pack”. Pero kung malayo ka sa mga registration sites mas practical kung online reg nlang.

  9. Does anyone here know where I can find the singlet size chart? I want to register online but don’t know the actual measurement of their singlet.

    • nagrun ka din ba sa ru1 or ru2??? i think more or less same sizes lang sa ru singlet kc po c rio din nmn organizer ng milo eh ^____^

    Done with two 21k within cut-off time… but 42k within 6 hours is not a joke… it needs hardcore training…

      • Cool mistyrain1 :) Well I also had my first FM during the RUPM last year… Mukhang same time lang tayo ah… Pwede tayo sabay run! LOL. Just worried with training this time kasi busy sa ibang activity… Bihira ako makatakbo kaya nag iisip between 21K or 42K. Cut off time is very challenging pero kahit papaano pasok pa naman. :)

    • Hello Lone Runner. I am from Las Pinas and training by myself on weekends. I usually run at C5 extension. And on weekdays I run at Roxas Blvd. If you are within the same area, we can train together if you want. This will be my first FM. I’ve had 3 HMs over the past months. I hope to finish this 42 within the cut off time. Sana di ma-upset hehe

    • Sa tingin ko personal assessment mo dapat. Mahirap magbigay ng advice lalo’t maraming factors dapat ang i-consider. Am not discouraging you, however, be wary of the possible (bad) effect/s on your well-being if it turns the other way around. Good luck!

    • serious training at maraming disiplina kakayanin mo yan…kain ng tama wag kumain na pang buffet after ng run mo para di ka lumaki..eat moderate lang.. agahan mo matulog mga 9 pm pwede na… at dapat di pinagpapabukas ang training… usually 430am ang gunstart ng mga 21km run dapat sanayin mo ang sarili mo na ganun oras din ang training mo… set your goal.. step by step lang wag madaliin ang training ilan linggo pa yan.. gudluck po

    • Thnks, sa mga payo. i’ll try to lose weight(I’m 211 Ibs now) before jul 28. papakiramdamang ko kung hanggang saan ang kaya but this is a really good challenge. hopefully makapag layout ako ng plan this weekend… good luck andGod Bless… :)

      • you may need to increase your pace to 1-2 minute per kilometer. example, sa isang kilometro natatapos mo ito ng 7 minutes, try to decrease your time sa susunod na week by 6 minute per kilometer. Mas maganda bumili a ng stop watch para nakikita mo yung progression mo. at tamang hydration at gulay, gulay prutas fish, at hwag masyado sa bulalo etc.

    • ang alam ko po 42k lang ang may finisher’s shirt….at makakakuha ka lang pag pasok ka sa cut-off time :)

  12. nagsisimula palang akong mag21k..and almost 4hrs ako last RunUnited.. isang malaking challenge para sa akin ang cut-off time ng MILO MARATHON..
    kaya i have to decide kung anung challenge ang gusto kong harapin.. and HalfMary or the Full Mary..

    • almost 4hrs sa 21k ng run united? pag nag Full Marathon ka sa milo matatapos ka ng 10hrs. eh sa tingin ko pag nag 21k ka sa milo kahit mag ensayo ka pa baka di ka pa papasa sa 2hrs 30mins ung full marathon pa kaya. 10k kna lng sa milo. advise lng, no bad intension o di ko minamaliit kakayahan mo. advice lng

    • much better 21k ka na lang dito… normally naman po kung gusto mo makuha yung predicted time mo eh for example 42k eh… kung ano po yung time mo sa 21k then add lang po atleast 15 to 20mins to know yung oras mo sa 42k… yung sa case mo po eh 4hrs… baka po sobrang mahirapan ka po sa marathon… masarap din kasi sa marathon yung hindi ka naman sobrang nahihirapan…

    • Hindi biro ang FM, kahit ang 21k hindi rin lalo na kung may time limit at once ka pa lang naka takbo ng half marathon. May susunod pa naman ibang FM na pwede mo salihan pag well prepared ka na. Sabi nga nila, wag mag madali baka injury ang ending mo. Fyi, FM takes 6 months of training. Run safe and injury free.

      • Oops, marathon is already 42.195 km. Wala na nga pala dapat “Full” sa marathon. Lasing lang. Lol. :)

    • tama… at least 6 months prepartion for your first FM… ang mahirap pa sa Milo meron pa cut-off time… if i may suggest @eight mag FM ka sa TBR… dun ata mas generous ung cut-off time nila 8hours i think… hnd kelangan madaliin… okya try mo muna ung afroman distance (32km) ni rio para ma-assess mo kung kaya mo na ung FM.. im not sure kung meron 32km sa RUPM this october 6… if ever meron try mo muna yun ^__^

    • Tama silang lahat, hwag magmadali at baka hindi kana makatakbo pagkatapos. Mag 21k ka ng 4 o 5 times muna. Kung okay lang ba @eight on malaman ang age mo? 4 hours for a 21k is almost close to walking. Try to trim it to 3 hours on your next half mary then a sub 3 on your next then 2:30 before your first marathon. You’ll soon get there. :) ok lang kung hindi ka umabot sa cut off at least nakita mo yung route. :)

  14. I’m not really confident for a first 42.2k here at 37th Milo Nationals. Sa 21k muna ako re-race since gamay na gamay ko na ang distance na yun. Naka plano na sana ako mag Full dito pero hindi ako satisfied sa 32k ko from RU2. I’m just being realistic lang naman sa mga goals ko. So,medyo magre-reassess ako ng 42.2k ko. Siguro sa RUPM na or QCIM sa December. Depende kasi sa kalalabasan ng training. I want every penny and experience to be worth it.

    @ Lazy Runnur: Tama yung ibang mga nasa forum na ‘to pati na ang magaling na si Sir Alienware. Re-think your goals muna. Nagwawalis talaga sa dito sa race na ‘to,chief. If you’re not confident sa plano mong distance,you always have time to rethink sa mga trainings mo. Be meticulous sa progress mo. Yes,it’s possible from 0k to 42.2k pero commitment at structured na program yun,sir. Lalo na for a race like Milo. I’d take Sir Swoosh’s tip. Napaka sensible.

  15. now ko lang na realize na mahigpit pala masyado sa time… 21k for 1 1/2 hrs? hindi ko ata kaya to.. the last time kasi na tumakbo ako ng 15k umabot ako ng 1hr 30 mins.

    incase lang ba na hindi ako umabot sa time ng 21k during the race. patitigilin ba ako ng milo marshalls? ty fellow runners

    • correction 2 1/2 hrs pala yung cut off sa 21k… na overlooked ko lang…

      kaya ko na pala to hehehe… c u gust sa 21k this is my first time… lakad takbo nalang siguro… depends sa result ng training ko. hehehe

      • suggestment lang bro, para hnd ka agad maubusan ng lakas sa first 21km mo praktisin mo ung run-walk strategy… let say 1st 10km mo mag 10:1 ka (10mins run-1min walk)… then 2nd half mo gawin mong 5:1… pwede rin vice versa depende sa pakiramdam mo… make sure lang na hnd ka babagal sa 7mins/km pacing mo… base sa computation magiging 2.45hrs ung 21km mo non… pasok na sa cut-off… 2 months pa nmn before Milo… praktisin mo yun… hope it helps ^____^

    • Thanks swoosh. Nasanaykc ako sa 10k n walang lKad pag may race. At once lang an tubig ko. Sa prktis mdyo naglalakad ako depende sa katawan ko. Ill start d praktis for 21 k ds wik i hope hindi umulan sa morning. Un lng kc free time ko bfor pumasok ako nag jajog.ty

  16. Guys can you give me some advice?
    Kasi until now hindi parin ako decided if mag42k ako dito sa marathon, longest distance i’ve tried is 32k (RU2), my time for this run wasn’t so bad and wasn’t so good (3:20) average siguro (I think?), pero im so exhausted na for the last 3K, I was really tempted to walk buti nalang medyo napilit ko to jog till the end.
    Based from the info above and less than 2months training time would it e enough for me to have enough training para sa 42k?

    • Kung natapos mo 32k in 3:20, panis lang sa’yo ang 42k. Sa pace mo’ng yan, psychological lang na matempt ka maglakad.

    • medyo bagalan mo na kaunti yung pacing mo para hindi ka nade-drain sa long run.
      try mo din yung run-walk-run method.

  17. I would very much like to register for 21k kaya lang nagdadalawang isip ako kasi sa RU2 yung 21k ko natapus ko ng 2 hrs and 40 min. Kayanin ko kaya yung cut off time na 2 1/2??? Gudlak lang!

    Na try ko na mg 21km dito ng mga 4 times.
    Tinatapos ko ung 21km = 1hr 50mins.

    If ma maintain ko ung PACING ko for
    21km na 1hr 50mins x2 = 3hrs 40mins.

    Wala sana ako maging injury pra mka pasok
    sa qualifying time.

    • Iba ang pag phase sa 42k, it must be slower than your 21k phase..if you can maintain your phase sa 21K all through out the 42k without hitting the wall,well and good…

    • Good luck pare! Tuloy tuloy lang sa training. Sabi nga sa milo kaya mo yan!

      Recommend ko lang mag 42k simulation runs ka. Ibang iba na ang laban pagdating sa return leg. Madali ang hanggang 32k, ang challenge ng mabilis na 42k eh yung huling 10k.

      Only through practice you will gain enough experience to handle the last 10k. So yung mga natitirang weekends, try mo mag 32k up to 42k.

      Good luck ! marami ang nangangarap na mag qualify.

      Balitaan mo lang kami kung pasok ka. Ensure mo rin na maayos yung timing chip mo, sayang ang takbo kung magkaproblema yon.

    • agree… and also if you have the history of heart disease or may hindi normal na nararamdaman eh much better to consult first your physician nyo… upon searching eh may heart problem po yata yung kasama nating naaksidente last 2010 milo marathon…

    • magpacheckup muna sa doctor bago sumali ng kahit anong race kung may doubts kayo sa sarili nyo.. mabuti na yung sigurado..

    • Malaking issue talaga ang heat stroke. Kung hindi sanay ang katawan, mataas ang chance na magka problema ito.

      Nag 21k din ako ng umagang iyon. Mainit nga pero tolerable naman. Hindi hydration ang issue, pero ang malaking factor eh yung temp (mala sauna ang manila nung umagang iyon) plus yung drive na habulin ang 2:30. Pwede naman tumigil at maglakad muna, pero pinilit talaga.

      Hanggang ngayon, yung visor na binigay ng milo nung araw na yon ay suot ko sa lahat ng major races ko. A reminder of the inherent dangers on the sport we all love.

      • mukhang magkakatotoo ito ah… june 24 talaga siguro ang regular registration for higher distance 10/21/42k sana one more week extension pa.. :-)

  20. if 1000gram pack na milo ba ang ginamit sa registration, pwede yun for up to 3 registrants? or 1pack per runner talaga kahit mas malaki yung pack na ginamit?

  21. never mo nako mapapila sa reg site na yan.. last year xp start sa pila 12nn natpos ako mag pareg 8pm.. mas ok pang maghintay ka ng race kit mo sa house and magbayad ng courier kesa nmn yung pagod sa byahe at super stress sa pila.. highly recommend if yu will reg on line =)

    • punta ka sa brooks sm north or runnr trinoma, moa, shangrila, bgc.. tutulungan ka nila malaman kung ano shoes ang bagay sayo..

    • ilang kilometer ba balak mo salihan?
      kung 3k and 5k, pwede na 1 month.
      basta may training ka atleast 4 times a week.

      pero kung 21k or 42k, next year ka na lang po sumali.
      need po kasi talaga ng long months of preparation dyan.

  23. @hot siopao masyado kang mayabang. kailangan pa bang ipaalam yan. 23yrs ka na estudyante ka pa rin. tapusin mo muna pagaaral mo hindi puro kayabangan. friendly advice lang.

    • hahahaha sir katuwa naman yung reply niyo kay hot siopao pero may point kayo doon, hindi na dapat ipagyabang kung ilang oras mo natapos at kung ilang taon ka na lols

  26. Done na ako makapag register! Sa mga magpapa register sa SM north the Block open sila Till 7pm. Ang bilis lang ng pila at marami pa daw singlets! Go na kayo baka maubusan! :)

    ako po si eight.. isang runner…at nananalangin na inyong maging kaibigan.. maraming katakbuhan… maraming matututunan at magiging sandigan sa bawat paghakbang at sa bawat tinatahak na daan..

    nasa kalahatian palang ako ng taon sa pagtakbo.. at unti unti narin nitong sinasakop ang aking buong pagkatao.. sa disiplina at maging sa pang araw araw na pamumuhay ko..

    gusto ko pong maging kaibigan nyo at makasama po kayo sa bawat pagtakbo.. di man magkakakilala ng lubusan.. magkakaroon parin ng maliit na koneksyon na maguugnay sa bawat isa sa atin..

    • brader EIGHT – suggestion lang po kung makakasama or running group po hinahanap mo eh mas mabuti ikaw po ang magsearch at mag add or magpakilala sa mga member duon na gusto mo mag join… search mo lang pinoyfitness at i like mo yung page nito eh duon mo makikita karamihan sa mga running activity…

      ikaw po nakikisuyo so ikaw na lang po ang mag effort… suggestion lang naman…

  28. Kung kelan nagtaas ang registration, dun pa nagtipid sa tela! ang liliit ng singlet size, 3xl na pero pero parang medium lang. WTH? pero nagregister pa ring ako. ganun siguro ang katwiran nila, anu’t anu man, sasali pa rin tayo!

  29. Registered! Question lang. Ano ba mga pre- race inclusions pag nagparegister ka? Ang binigay lang kasi sakin, singlet at race bib lang. Wasnt able to check it until I got home kasi binigay sakin nung staff dun sa Riovana ng nakatape na yung envelope. Baka mamaya may important akong nakalimutan eh. Thanks. Parang nakukulangan kasi ako?

      • Thanks! Kaya pala. Last year may binigay na runners handbook and route map sakin. Kaya pala parang nakulangan ako sa binigay kahapon, pero siguro this year online na lang yata yung mga yun.

        PS. Sa Rio Katips walang pila. Dere derecho ka lang parang naka express lane hehe.

  30. hahaah!!! nagparegister kami kaganina 6:00pm cut off na agad ala na daw singlet at race bib ano to lokohan first day palang nang registration palpak na agad!! sayang lang ang lakad namin!! badtrip

    • ganyan din po nung isang taon… pero naging maayos naman ang lahat… kahit first week of july pa mag register eh may slots pa naman base on 2011/2012 wala lang talaga two weeks up to one week before the event :-)

  31. I registered at Riovana Katipunan just this afternoon. No lines at all! Registration was fast. Plenty of singlets. I registered for the 10K category. The staff mentioned to me that a lot of registrants earlier for the 42k.

    I was surprised to learn that there are different singlet designs. For the middle and long distance categories, we will be wearing the sando-style Reebok singlet. For the short distance, they will wear the standard Milo singlet (the one with the 37th year printed in front).

    Anyway, goodluck to all registrants! See you on the 28th of July.

    di naman ganoon kahaba ang pila kaya tumagal e dun sa mga nag-reregister ng bulk.. grabe isa para sa lahat ata ung mga yun.. kawawa naman ung mga pumila para sa sarili nila.. ung iba tuloy na personal na pumila naubusan na ng size at singlets.. sana kasi ung mga bulk registrants ay sa online na lang bigyan na lang sila ng discount para di na sila sumabay sa mga nag-papakahirap pumila..

  33. @limitEDrunner: Yes,sir. Tama po yan. Last year June 22nd ako nagpalista sa MOA,race day is July 29th. I was to join the 5k race pero I think na may “quota” lang sila for respective race disatances per day. Not really sure ah. So,ayun nga. I saw the list na hawak ni ate,nasa 70 persons na yung sa 5k. No choice,sa 10k ako nilagay at first race ko talaga yun! Hahaha! Singlet sizes from that time na available na lang is L-2XL. So,sana this year eh nagawan na ng remedy ‘to. Hindi naman ako nagsi-Singlet pag race na,pero syempre everybody would want something worth their salt. At maganda naman talaga ang singlet ng Milo,made by Reebok pa.

    • haha kawawa naman yung individual entry… ang marami po duon eh yung for student kasi 50php or 100php na pala ngayon may singlet na sila…

      anyways baka makapag register na rin next week for my first event of the year… marathon ulit… :-)

    • wala po lootbag 10k and below… only 21k and 42k lang po ang meron… the only difference is 42k has finisher shirt and mas malaki yata yung medal :-)

      kaya po nauna nauubos yung 21k kasi yung mga nagbabalak ng 10k eh same price din naman dagdag distance lang eh may lootbag na :-)

  34. I think it’s convenient na sa Riovana BGC magparegister kung on-site. Mas marami silang terminal doon to accomodate participants. Sa MOA kasi dalawa lang. Palagi namang dalawa lang doon kaya pila talaga.

      • Sir Bagito – pano pong maliit ung large? One size smaller poh ba? Ano poh ba usually na size nyo sa mga singlet ng mga run? Nag online kasi ako and baka maliit ung size na inindicate ko dun. Salamat.

  36. last tue, pumunta kami sa riovana bgc at hinarap ang matinding ulan at trapik, wala naman kaming napala..open na ba sila ngaun? yung contact number nila sa website, di naman macontact para matanong eh..may nakakaalam po ba? please..thanks in advance! =)

    • Mam, kung June 11 (tue) kayo nag punta.. sure po ako na wala pa talag yun kasi June 17 ang start ng reg… kung June 18 (tue) po kayo nag punta meron na po reg nun at nakapag reg na po ako ng June 18 (tue).. wag po kalimutan yung MILO 300 g.. mas maganda kung check nyo po sa FB ng Riovanna yung contact number. As of yesterday nagkakaubusan ng singlet, sabi naman ng taga BGC pwede magparegister at ipapalit na lang yun size ng singlet..Maliit yung size ng singlet… yung LARGE ng RU series baka 2xl na sa MILO…tnx

  37. Attention RUNRIO! sana naman please lang ayusin nyo sistema ng registraton nyo sa Tobys MOA. Wala namang pila pero halos isang oras kami nagantay para lang makaparegister. pano naman kaming nagtatrabaho at pumunta lang ng lunch break? Sana naman next time ayusin nyo. MAGULO.

    Due to the surge of registrants and the overwhelming support of our runners for the upcoming 37th MILO Marathon, we temporarily ran out of Reebok singlets for the 10km, 21km and 42km categories. We will be putting registration for the said categories on hold in the mean time. Rest assured that stocks will be replenished by Thursday, June 20 as we resume registration.

  39. grabe 2nd day ng reg khapon ubos agad ung singlet for 42k, 21k, 10k… more singlets pa…. pahirapan agad… unreasonable ang tagal pa ng race event…
