  1. Hi Guys,

    Just to answer some of the Q’s posted:

    1. You don’t need to get an invite to join this race. Everyone is allowed to join for as long as you’ve paid the registration fee;
    2. The race fee last year was Php 3K for early birds, and 3.5K regular;
    3. You will need to bring your own bike. No bike rental in the venue.

    This is a very nice race. Swim is 2 loops of 600m each. First 100m of the swim is shallow ( pwede lakarin ) but gets to about 15feet near the turn around.

    Bike course is brutal going out on to the main course. The ascent upon leaving T1 is comparable to Sierra Madre. Going down to T2 is steep so you need to temper your speed. Last year, it claimed several riders who crashed managing the sharp right turn.

    Run is pancake flat with lots of spectators. :-)

    If you’re bent on joining this race, I suggest you do hill training on the bike. You can walk your bike in dealing with the ascent but that will cost you lots of minutes. Practice descending also. One of those who crashed last year was a pro.

    Practice mass start swimming as well, as the the swim start can be very chaotic with lots of punches and kicks around. Key is for one not to panic especially in the deeper part of the ocean.

    Hope to bump into you guys there! :-)
