  1. firsties! kulang po sa water w/c is a big no-no in a run. basic reqt pero meron pa naman chance to improve on the next event. ok na walang dole banana basta may water. :) perfect weather to run so kahit late nag start ok pa.

  2. first time to experience queuing at the finish line for WATER! and for a measly cup! or should i say, not even for a cupful of water. water is sooo basic in fun runs, can’t overemphasize the runners’ need for it. except for this and the late gunstart, everything’s A-ok.

  3. I agree with the other posters. Except for the hydration stations, everything was excellent. In fact, you could give other fun runs literally a run for their money.

I understand the late gun start coz of the rains. As to the route, it was refreshing for me coz’ its my first time running over E. Rodriguez….ok talaga sya sobra!

Tapos ok yung lootbag ninyo not that i was expecting a whole lot…and the ice cream and the banana was a great idea.

    Sana may susunod pa ulit!

  4. Petron Lakbay Alalay was a nice event. If it weren’t for the bad weather, I assume this event would have started promptly.

I ran the 10k route. My goodness! So many uphills and downhills. My most memorable was ascending and descending the flyover!

The number of hydration stations for 10k runners was sufficient. However, I do feel bad for the 3k and 5k runners because by the time it was their turn, the water stations already ran out. I guess this should be a good lesson for future fun run organizers to take good care of not only the long-distance runners but also the short-distance runners. My brother’s new in running so I felt bad that he ran 3k thirsty!

The stage set-up was too far from the start/finish line. It is best that the stage is near where the action is.

I love the bananas and pineapples. Fruits galore!!! Again, feel bad for those who weren’t able to get some because of plenty of repeaters.

Singlet design was great. It is very lightweight and the colors looked great. I hope they don’t run out of sizes in future run events.

Lots of unclaimed loot bags! As for the contents, it was ok. I wanted more!

    Results were fast as well.

Congrats to the organizer. Hope there’s a part 2 but please maintain the very minimal registration fees!

  5. It was fun however the organizer should put more hydration especially in the middle and the finish line. Drinks in the loot bags should have been given to the finish line as the the runners were really thirsty due to lack of hydration. Stage should be near to the start and finish line. Aside from that, it was good especially the fruits and ice cream.

Thanks Petron! Hope to run on an improved set up next time. :)

  6. First Fun Run ko ito. so, hindi ko siya maikukumpara sa ibang run. :)

all in all, masaya ang fun run na ito. hindi ko ito makakalimutan, first ko ‘to e, at syempre hindi last. :)

    next year ulit. :)

ilabas na ang mga videos and pictures! :)

  7. Firstly, thanks to the organizers for setting up a fun run with a very affordable price tag. I hope more organizers would follow your lead. I’m sure most of the participants appreciated that. If it weren’t for the shortage of water (and watercups) along the race route, i think everything would have gone perfectly well. Happy Father’s Day to all the running Dads out there!

  8. thank you to Petron for organizing this event. reg fees are very inexpensive and the route is really challenging. for two thirds of the 10k race, hydration was pretty adequate. however, kulang na sa bandang dulo. kung hindi tubig, wala ng baso. yelo na lang ang kinuha ko.

i really don’t understand why the stage was sooooo far from the start/finish line. walang nakakaintindi sa emcee. maybe a speaker should have been provided sa area. kasi wala namang nag-gaguide sa mga runners like “oh, 10k runners po muna dito. yung 5k and 3k sa kabilang street muna.” nung gun start, sa kaliwa ko 5k sa kanan ko mga 3k runners tapos sabay sabay kaming tumakbo. mali naman ata iyon.

pero overall, maganda naman ang event. just please ensure that all areas are covered. =)

    Next year ulit Petron!

  10. Infairness to Petron, kahit mura ang run..over-all well organized naman yung event, although i agree with some comments here na kawawa yung 10k kasi naubusan na ng ibang freebies..pero grabe yung route sa 10k! it was super challenging! puro uphill! Ok lang naman ang hydratn sa 10k, na appreciate ko yung malamig at may ice na tubig sa ibang fun run kasi maligamgam hahaha! sana lang next time una nyo munang itayo yung start line kasi the people there were wonderign san ang start late nyo na kasi nailagay, and sana next time start on time kasi yung run ng 10k medyo mainit na good thing umulan bago ang race..loved the lootbags! Congrats to the organizers!

  11. ace, I feel for you. This was my 2nd time to run 10k.

I’m not saying special ang 10k runners kaya bigyan sila ng utmost attention. All I’m saying is sana fair na makakuha din sila ng freebies just like the 3k and the 5k runners.

    Just something to consider, organizers!

  12. Thanks Petron for this very affordable run! :)

    Good points:
-it may seem redundant but yes, ABOT KAYA talaga sya! salamat sa murang pa-run! :)
    -walang hassle sa registration
-staffs were ALL accommodating and friendly
-race results were immediately released! :)
-new race route — challenging ang up and downhill track, which is good! :)
-definitely one of the best singlet we had! maganda ang quality.
    -nice loot bag! :)

    Needs for improvement:

*overall, i’ll give Petron Lakbay Alalay TWO THUMBS UP! sana next year, pa-run po uli kayo! paki-consider na lang po yung mga suggestion ng mga kapwa runners ko dito. we’ll surely recommend this run to our fellow runners and friends! KUDOS! :)

  13. Na-enjoy namin tatlong magkakaibigan ang run (10k). We all shattered our previous PR’s on this run. Hope to run Lakbay Alalay Fun Run 2 in, say, October (hint, hint) =)

Route was good, especially the ups and downs.

I didn’t bother with the waterstations; I brought my own hydration. ‘sides, they (stations) would just slow me down. But I did notice 2/3 of the way onto the finish line that most of them were already packing up. I appreciated the trash collecting though.

Portalets should have at least 5-7 units each for M and F. I was in line waiting for my turn, then immediately left when 10k runners were called…

We didn’t bother much for the freebies, except for the lootbag. We came to run and help the cause, so that equaled FUN. And I was pleasantly approached by a staff and gave me a banana along with, “Happy Fathers Day po.” He was the first to greet me (second to my wife of course).

Race results were fast. I LOVE the individual stats. I didn’t get that in the NatGeo Earth Day Run last April.

Thank you Petron, Creativeworx, Itemhound and the rest of the staff and the sponsors for a job well done. Not perfect, but close (NOBODY IS PERFECT).

See you again soon! (See last sentence of 1st paragraph) ;)

  14. there were some miscues such as late start, misplaced stage, unprepared corral and no distance markers. but overall this race made it through the rain and gave runners the necessary race support!

  15. in addition to comment19 by curiouslang..

Hehe. May pictures na po ba? Wala akong picture kay Renzo e, sana meron pa. :)

Thanks Petron sana maulit ulit to! Thumbs up po ako sa inyo!

  18. @ christy
Dati dumayo pa ko sa Cebu for the Globe Run for Home. Yung bananas pinamudmod bago nakarating mga 15k and 21k runners sa finish line.Runners had 2 or more bananas.
Same thing happened yesterday. Wala ng sagingan.
Hoping for improvements on the next run.

  19. @evangeline:

i agree as the miscues seems petty and the organizer can improve next year. let us do hope that the registration fees will remain reasonable.

  21. one thing i noticed, walang marshall na nagcheck nung spiral bracelet or ring ba yun na ibinibigay sa mga loops, balewala yun gpurpose no’n.

  22. sana naman separate yung mga freebies ng bawat category para mabigyan lahat, kasi pagdating ng mga naka cut off time sa mga longer category e ubos na ang freebies like the ice cream and bananas, I hope na mapag tuunan ito ng pansin ng organizer sa susunod na patakbo nila, yung hydration sites sa buong run was strategically located along the way pero nagkulang ata sa supply ng tubig at baso lalung lalo na sa malapit sa finish line, pero all in all ok ang patakbo nila yun lang yung mga negative comments (hope na magkaroon ng positive results and feedback on future runs)very challenging yung race course daming uphill and downhill I finish with my best 10Km PR so far with a time of 00:56:05 ok itong experience na ito in preparation for the 2nd Leg of the Discovery Trail Run sa Rizal.

  23. Ako din I didn’t bother for the hydration naka 3 stops lang yata ako sa buong 10K, di kasi nanuyo ang lalamunan ko while running unlike pag maaraw, bawat station kelangan kung tumigil.

First time ko ditong maranasan ang ilang uphills and downhills. Yong last uphill sa J. Vargas grabe naglakad ako hanggang sa malapit don sa Meralco Ave. saka ko pinaspasan uli kaya umabot ako sa banana at icedrop. Hehehe :)

Overall, am giving Petron, Creativeworx and Itemhound two thumbs up!!!

  24. Sayang di ako tumuloy, umulan na sa amin around 4am,dont like running ng basa baka madulas ako e,very affordable run puede naman palang mura eh,bakit times two sa iba?

  25. im just wondering why the event stage was too far from the main event area? it was as if the event stage assemblers did not coordinate with the event organizer. hmmm :-(

  26. This would have been a great run if the organizers were more prepared. At 5am, the starting line was not even set up. Gun start was late and water stations were very few and extremely crowded, causing a lot of people traffic. Otherwise, the race route was good and owing to the coolness of the weather, it was a good run, overall.

  27. Good day. First and foremost, thank you for organizing a race at an affordable price. I would like to point out a few things to make your next event even better. I didn’t really mind the late start due to the weather. The weather was still cool when we ran so no problem. One thing I did mind, though, was the fact that the tarpaulin km markers were not in place. I saw them at the starting line and was wondering why they were there. What a waste. They even had wooden stands. For many like myself, these are important and your staff should have taken the effort to have arranged to have them in place. If they are too lazy or too pre -occupied in the future races maybe bond paper with km indicators will do. Much better than nothing. As long as they are visible, they will serve their purpose.
Another problem was the lack of another important thing. WATER. Water stations should be placed at every two or three kilometers. And the water cups should be twice the size of the tiny ones you used. One would have to consume three tiny cups and wait in line to refill them when runners should be able to take one large cup and run with it and not waste time lining up and refilling tiny cups. Not to mention cups should actually be filled with water on the table in order for runners to grab and go on running with them. If the cups are the riht size and aware that there are enough water stations, they will just grab one cup and run with it, minimizing wastage. Your water station was at he 1.5km point for 3 and 5km participants. I would have wanted more water at that point but didn’t want to waste time or deprive others of water so I figured I would just get more at the next water stop. Little did I know that was the only designated water stop and despite my crossing to the other side on my way back to get more water, there was no more. No more cups and more water. Shocking. Based on official race results, I finished 89th out of 880 participants in the 5km run. I pity the 791 runners who were behind me plus the 3km race participants who may not have had any water even at the single water stop.
I truly hope that you can address these issues in your future events.
My compliments to the designers of the singlets. Nice design and color combination. A round -neck collar would also be nice..
    Thank you!
