  1. I had wonderful time! Running the 21k on Skyway feels like I’m on top of the world. I don’t care about the PR basta hindi ako kulelat ok na yun, I ran freely not thinking of anything basta that freedom that I felt was all that is to me, ang sarap!
Mr. Ton Concepcion, Thanks for this opportunity! Next year uli :-)

  2. This is my first full marathon run. I’ve been running for about 6 months. And I can’t still believe that I got this far. From just a 5K run into a full marathon run. This is such a great and unforgettable experience for me.

Thank you and congratulations to the organizer!

  3. I enjoyed the run yesterday, ’twas my first full marathon….I now consider my self a MARATHONER!Though, had some pains and still managed to finish it in 4 hrs and 37 mins( unofficial based on my digital wristwatch).I need to practice more to improve my PR.I want to hit the 4 hrs and 15 mins…Kudos to the organizer and congrats to first timers like me…I am looking forward for next year event….CONGRATs to all!To God be the glory!

  4. Mabuhay and Congrats to all Skyway Finishers, woot woot! Job great done po, to brothers Ton and Patrick Concepcion and partners. Saw Sir Pat on his way back while doing his nth 42K with bonus of 2 snapshots with him at the Finish Line and a personal visit sa pinoyfitness booth to say Thank You and to the rest of the advertisers.

First time to run sa Skyway, and ganun pala ang feeling, medyo sinipon ng konti before approaching 10.5K U-turn,coz nahamugan tau starting 3:30AM. got an improved 21K, thank God. Aside from the adequate hydration, nagpapasalamat din ako sa well-dstributed in fact, 3x akong nag-bio break, hehe.

Congrats to all our friends who did 42K and sa mga nag-first time marathon. Very proud of you guys! Magde-debut mary nko sa CamSur Marathon. Thank you Condura and see u again next year.
    I love my 7th 21K medal…

  5. organizers started sending out the 3k runners at about 7:55am in 5 waves (i was taking photos above the underpass)…they seem to do not mind the scorching heat.. good job to the MC at the starting line for mentally boosting the 3k runners .. final wave sent out at 8:09am (together with Tom Concepcion,, {one of the first runner to go out at 42k and one of the last runner to go in at 3k} and Family, and the labrador golden retriever). Well applauded was a barefoot runner who after running 10k… ran again at the 3K category and won.. galing!

The triumph of the Condura Run for the Mangroves still lingers in me.. Kudos! Kudos! Kudos!..:)

  6. sana mas mapaganda pa.. kasi last year 2011 mas maganda pa compare ngayon sa 2012,kulang sa 100plus,banana, tapos walang baggage malalayo ang medal sa baggage, pero i enjoy.. sana ang benefits niyan mapunta lahat sa mangroves sa buong pilipinas..

  7. sobrang thank you insan TONY RAMOS at sa bayaw JAMES CASTRO ng FILINVEST, kung di sa condura 2012 di ako makakapasyal sa mansion nyo jan sa susana heights.. sobrang asikaso at dami ng pagkain.. thank you very much..GOD BLESS!

  8. I had fun running my first 10k. Everything was organized well. Congratulation! Except when claiming my 100PLUS bottle, sabi ubos na raw but in another booth meron pa pero for sale na. Hmmm.

  9. My first Condura run but definitely not my last if budget permit me medyo mahal kasi. And this time not alone i encourage my future wife to run. I got my PF singlet at last!

Congrats to all 42k finishers! You inspire me to run.

  10. hopefully next time eh hindi lang puro tubig ang ibigay nila sa runners, lalo sa long distances, although I have my gatorade with me, still hindi enough kasi ang tarik ng route, which is something new for us runners. Sana lang maging considerate ang 100 plus sa needs ng runners hindi enough ang tubig lang lol Looking forward for more improvements sa 2013 Condura

  13. the race route is ok..malamig lang un hangin..kaya mabigat sa pakiramdam kc di masyado ma let go un pawis..
congrats to all finishers..hope you had ur
    new PR..
congrats to the organizers!!!i had great time in my first running experience in the skyway..enjoy din kame ng mga barkada ko..see you next year!!!!!!!!

  14. ah talaga Ms. Tessa Prieto was there din pala? sayang missed the pichur-pichur with her…

im proud na ka-21K Wave B ko si Mr Fernando Zobel, and he is a fast runner, in fairness.

met and chatted a bit with Rovilson Fernandez who at 21K Wave E cheered for me when he passed by me along the route, hehe, ang bilis talaga ng taong yan…

noticed Barefoot Colonel Sir Mike Logico, Gerard Pizarra and Bearwin Meilly on the 42K side.

  15. nice experience…
sa mga nagccomplain na mejo malayo ang unang hydration station…. i guess…. n set naman ang expectation even before the race na mejo may kalayuan nga ang unang water station…
in any case…. im sure naman lahat nag enjoy eh

  16. it was my fist full marathon (Malaybalay Runners) kahit nag iisa lang ako from my home town, itinayu ko ang bandila ng Malaybalay City.(5 hrs and 21 mins unofficial base on the time display)…

  17. @khurot
wow thats great po. congrats to u and ur hubby for a 42K accomplishment. deserve nyo talaga ang giant medal.

    @jun lite
im sure naki-celebrate po ang buong Malaybalay and ur running team as you crossed the finish line and dedicated ur run to them.
congrats po and now ur a certified marathoner na…

See you to RU1..

    Thanks!

    God Bless po!

  19. I so enjoyed this run (21k) and happy to pay the steep price if its as well organized as this. The route was generally uphill but surprisingly didn’t feel that much pain on the legs and the weather was perfect – not hot at all. Thank you Condura and looking forward to finally doing 42K next year. Happy running to all!

  20. my first 42k…hindi ko masabi kung etoh ung best marathon ever for me ha…hindi na anticipate ng organizer ang dami ng runners we 42k runners hoping na may saging on the 20km mark na sinisigaw nila but unfortunately wala na kaming naabutan puro balat nalang ng saging…1800 kaming tumakbo 500 lang ata ang saging n pinamigay nyo….next ung GU wala din kaming naabutan ahahaha wawa naman kaming mababagal diba…i dont know kung organizer ang nagkaroon ng lapses or kung may mga runners na naghohoard ng saging at GU…ahahahah daming TUBIG mor TUBIG mor sa pag wiwi…lurks!!!after the race nakita ko ung mga kasabayan ko na nag 42k may loot bag, kameng mga nahuling natapos wala ahahahah…ung iba pag kaabot ng medal may saging pa, kame pag abot ng medal MAP at magazine ang binigay….cguro naman bilang nila kung ialan ang nagregister na runner nila for 42k at sana binigyan nila konting pakunswelo…well yeah may mga tent dun n may nagmamasahe pero sa daming nagpapamasahe wala kn din chance…aheheheh

maganda ang route solong solo ang skyway walang mga sasakyan n kasabyan aheheh and i think the medal is worth dying for ahahaha….pero sana sana lang lahat ng nag42k nakakain ng saging at GU within the race at loot bag after the race

  21. It was a nice experience running in skyway grabe, anyway na beat ko record ko sa 5k looking forward for next year hopefully sa 21k congrats sa organizer ng condura, sayang ganda ng tshirt nyo pinoyfitness kaso wala ng large size di kasya sakin so bumili na lng ako ng sando pero maganda din design. suggestion lng sa organizer sana yng baggage area malapit lang ksi layo pa lalakarin also naubusan ng energy drink 100plus.

  23. Ito ang 42K without training…i felt like im gonna give up na and walk up to the finishline (last 5K) buti na lang nandun un mga friends ko they push me to finish it and even pace with them even all the mucles in my legs cramped out…WOW…this what they “No Pain, No Gain.”

  24. It was a very good race! Almost perfect! But apparently hindi ko nanaabutan pa ang GU, bakit naman naubos agad eh ang sabi saken ng buddy ko na nauna saken eh they are only giving 1GU per 42km runner… Asan na yung bang GU? Hinord ba ng mga Tao nila? Hehe.. Kakainis…

I had fun in my first ever full marathon!
Thank Giod for this very wonderful race!

  25. Good and bad. Good thing is i enjoyed my second 2nd 42k run. Well, i have to enjoy nalang kase the bad thing about it is that it was disappointing to see that the personnel at the hydration stations were giving all water. And even more disappointing is that you see them put the GU’s, bananas, and 100+ drinks in their personal bag(in other words binulsa). Long distance runners need those supplements to last them thru the race. Hindi para i-uwi sa mga pamilya nila or for their own personal consumption.

  26. Nice experience being on the skyway end to end on foot and without toll fee hehe. As for the sports drinks, I think pure and clean H20 is still the best for hydration kaya ok na din puro water, atleast d tayo nadedehydrate. Till next Condura run. The Mangroves are proud of you!! :)

  27. It was indeed a nice experience, running on top of the Skyway on my Birthday! Awesome!!! Kudos to the organizer & looking forward for the next event! Congrats to all!

  28. agree with caviterunner.

Congrats to all the runners and good job to Condura Skyway Marathon 2012.

My left knee was badly injured really last Sunday. It was a recurring injury sustained during training for Condura.

  31. That was the BEST local race in my book (especially for first time 42K runners like me).

The midnight gunstart was perfect for slow runners like me. I didn’t have to fight through any real heat like I did with the RU3 32K. The timing – early Feb date – helped a lot too.

I also felt safest in this race. I didn’t have to run next to cars (vs. any BGC, QC or Manila routes). Hydration and lighting were more than adequate.

One person from the hydration crew even said “Thanks for running!” as he filled up my water bottle. Galing!

I also like the fact that there are separate incentives for our local Filipino runners. I hope things like these motivate our fellow Filipino runners continue to work hard and make us competitive.

Let’s all help promote this race to become the premiere (and world class) running event in the Philippines.

Salamat sa organizers ng Condura Skyway Marathon! Mabuhay kayo!!! :)

  32. I ran th 21K so I won’t know what the 42K runners had with hydration. In my opinion though water stations were sufficient and well placed.

For those who have extra/special needs I guess self-sufficiency and preparedness is the key when it comes to hydration and nutrition during ANY race. The organizers for this race in my belief set timely and proper expectations regarding the hydration plan through different social media channels. We should be able to build our hydration/nutrition strategy around that.

  33. * I ran th 21K so I won’t know what the 42K runners experienced with hydration. In my opinion though water stations were sufficient and well placed.

  34. Am a bit ANXIOUS regarding the upcoming official results. I saw the results of Top Finishers, wherein I observed that they consider the ranking by Gun Time not the Chip time, which we all know that there were batches during the start of the race (Wave “A”, “B”, “C” …). So it means, if you’re in the last wave, you will not be able to be on top of first wave. I hope that the organizer should consider in ranking the CHIP TIME not the gun time. Just a thought.

Anyhow, I had a great experience for Condura Skyway Marathon, best run. Thanks see you on the next run.

  35. @angelo:

LOLz.

  36. @dyands gun time is defined by the time they fired the gun for your group/wave to the time you crossed the finish line.

Someone in Wave D can still have a shorter gun time than someone from Wave B because the basis for each individual will be be the gunstart for their respective waves. I hope I made sense and was able to help =)

  37. …and the “Lock and Load” Coral style start maybe the reason why releasing the results for this event will be tad slower than the other events. That and the fact that there were 13000 of us running that day. Cogratulations again to all the finishers!

  38. i didn’t make it to the 21K registration, kaya pala kasi ang dami talagang sumali sa category na yun…the way i witnessed the multitude of runners… it is the highlight of the event!

  39. great 42K route everything went uphill when there is a turnaround point. Good thing I had GU Chomps which I can consume every 2KM, I only remembered 3 energy drink station along the route so I started chewing on those during the 32-42K marker as electrolyte replacement.

  40. km 18 to 25 for 42k distance wala maski 1 hydration station. And may nabasa pa ako na may runner na kumain ng 5 saging sa km 20, pls be considerate nxt time for other runners na nahuli. Congrats to all finishers esp. to all full marathoners!

  41. may runner na kumain ng 5 saging sa km 20, pls be considerate nxt time for other runners na nahuli.

  42. “For those who have extra/special needs I guess self-sufficiency and preparedness is the key when it comes to hydration and nutrition during ANY race.”

E di dapat wag na magbayad ng organizer to provide for the runners. Self sufficient pala dapat sa isang “event.” Or wag nalang maglagay ng mga hydration stations. Dala nalang tayo ng sariling dipsenser natin. ;)

  43. We were told that there will be GU energy gels, but there was none… No bananas along the route and 100 plus drinks were meagerly poured on small cups. We have seen lots and lots and lots of 100 plus boxes in every drinking station, why were they not distributed to the runners?

Plus medals should not be claimed… they should be don to the finishers. If medals can be claimed then even non-finishers can claim the medals…

  44. whatever happened to the no dogs and baby joggers allowed on any part of the course?

it was written clearly on the condura website that they will not allow these.

    oh well…

  45. I remember on the 35K mark may ambulance and I was asking if they have omega or any liniment, they gave me vicks instead hahahaha! natawa na lang ako!

  46. One of the best I joined. Congratulations to the organizers, it was well-organized. The only downside for me was the lack of 100 Plus drinks available. But other than that, it was a fun and festive run event.

  47. @camia

ah i see.

    @rontech/juan

  48. This is a great event. It did not disappoint rather this should be the Gold standard by which other running events in the country should be measured. First time I joined this event & ran the 21K with my girlfriend.

The hydration issues raised by the runners (21K & 42K) is valid. Pure water doesn’t help us long distance runners rather it puts us at risk of life-threatening hyponatremia. That’s why more sportsdrink should be available along the route, not just because of high reg fees we paid for but more from physiologic point of view & runner safety. Though personally, I’ve learned to bring my own hydration/fuel in races as this was my very first newbie mistakes (relying on the organizer’s supply) a few years back . This consists of 2 8oz of Gatorade (more than this is hard to carry),2 pcs of banana (as we all know that race supplies are most of the time unreliable), 5 pcs of Hersheys nuggets & 2 salt tablets. I’ve done away with gels.

Thank you to the organiser, Messrs. Concepcion.

See you guys next year ..Hopefully the full distance then. Keep safe!

  49. thank you sa mga organizers for this event!..this is my first ever full mary…tinarget ko ang 5hrs…luckily nakuha ko in less than 5hrs…kahit pulled na ang mga thigh muscles ko dahil sa dehydration in the last 8k…naka mindset pa rin ako sa target time ko… more training pa…san po ba makikita ang official race photos for the 42k?

I cant find my name and bib no.! I wanna know my race result 51459 is my bib no. thanks…

  52. Congratz to all… The best running event pa din ng Pilipinas.. sayang perfect na sana sumabit lang sa hydration.. sa lahat ng sports drink di ko iniinom powerade.. its either gatorade or pocari.. pero no choice napa inom ako ng powerade sa 21K U turn.. grabe nag react sa sikmura ko at kinabag ako.. hehe.. =p

  53. I just ran for the mangroves…and I also just learned about the plan of the local government of paranaque to build condominiums on freedom island. That means we will lose one of our country’s bird sanctuary and the mangrove forest on that area…

  54. …I just ran for the mangroves…and I also just learned about the plan of the local government of paranaque to build condominiums on freedom island. That means we will lose one of our country’s bird sanctuary and the MANGROVE FOREST on that area…

  55. Thank you pala sa isang pf member naka pf shirt sya 21km runner.

  56. // @blair: the singlet/ tech shirt are way too cool..! i got myself two tech shirts and a singlet.. :)

@runnerstoe @gumihorunner: as always, running is MORE MORE fun when you run with friends..yeah..?!

@eatandrun: plus the photo ops..we can never miss that..! ahahah..!

    @rotech: i sure will…

@ryan: i agree that as runners — we cannot always depend on the organizers providing us with our hydration needs, however, the organizers are also responsible in ensuring that runners are accorded with proper hydration, etc. as we are paying for a slot in the race. nonetheless, i appreciate your being sensitive to the matter and for showing prudence in your comments.

  57. suggestion to my fellow runners especially those who are relatively new to participating in these events: invest in a running watch (even with just a basic stopwatch function). it will significantly reduce your frustration regarding missing times, etc. unfortunately (but not to excuse the organizers from fixing the problems), at this time, there’s still no fool-proof timing system.

  58. @SuPLaDo_aKo thanks. Yep, I agree it shuld be a combination of two elements: 1) The organizer making sure they have at the least the basic neccesities in place and 2) The runner anticipating any issues and preparing accordingly.

I haven’t met anyone from PF personally but I’m looking forward to joining your LSDs soon =)

  59. Based on my chip time, I logged 04:42:40. Not bad for my first attempt to run a “Full Mary”. Kudos to organizers, I love the feeling afterwards.

  60. We enjoyed the condura run last sunday. It was a better organized running event compared to the others … though the power plus they are giving is warm na (it’s best kasi pag super cold). And sana may bananas for 21 and 42K routes.

  61. laki ng revenue nila. hehe. sa 42k runners pa lang 83,173,500php na dun sa 1,610 runners na lumabas sa race result. What more dun sa hindi pa mga nakapost, and dun pa sa ibang categories? Wow, damu kuarta Dong!

  62. @ronron Php11 Million lang naman

    Cat Price Runners Revenue
    42k 1,610 1,350 Php 2,173,500
    21k 1,141 1,200 Php 1,369,200
    16k 2,100 1,100 Php 2,310,000
    10k 2,226 950 Php 2,114,700
    5k 2,968 750 Php 2,226,000
    3k 1,315 550 Php 723,250
    TOTAL Php10,916,650
