Everyone is cordially invited by frontRUNNER Magazine, Ang Pambansang Babasahin ng Mananakbong Pilipino, to the The Valley Trail Challenge that will be held on June 18, 2011 at Nuvali, Sta Rosa, Laguna.

Nuvali, Sta Rosa, Laguna
25K / 50K

For those who have done the marathon here’s a great time to try Ultra-Marathon and for those who simply love the outdoors, a 25-kilometer category awaits you.

The route is generally runner-friendly, having a rolling but mostly flat terrain (single and double track dirt roads), and only around 5% will consist of concrete roads. This route offers reprieve from constant pounding on hard surfaces. One loop will consist of 25 kilometers with the start and finish lines situated at the vicinity of the Evoliving Center. The course will bring runners to the peripheries of the NUVALI complex which will offer participants majestic views that only nature and NUVALI can offer.

And in the true tradition of trail and ultra running, this race will be a no frills, all thrills race where runners, despite the presence of three aid stations( at Kilometers 9, 20 and 25 – first aid, water and electrolyte drinks), are strongly advised to be self-contained and sufficient, meaning , runners are required to carry their own hydration kits and nutrition supplies. Additionally, it is also recommended that they bring their own first aid kit (cotton balls, antiseptic solution, band aid strips and anti-biotic ointment).

50K – PHP 950.00
(includes finisher’s shirt and token)

  1. il go for 25k… as cecille said would there be a service vehicle for us to be able to reach nuvali.. just like in tagaytay highlands..

  2. Yes, you are right, this is going to be an exciting way to break the usual groove that runners have been into. But then,I hope they can provide prospective runners with more details, like the race route, who will be the race organizer and director, will there be a medal, certificate and a preview of the shirt design? That way, interested runners will be guided properly. Thank you so much!

  3. this is an exiting one but . . .an advice to organiser…better to have registration sites in strategic locations if you want to have lots of participants like: rox, runners or at sports boutique inside malls.

  9. if it’s being organized by a bunch of serious and intense ultrarunners… then you better be prepared! no frills, no kaartehan, no “ay sana may ganito, sana may ganun”! this is where you will learn to suck it up and just run! just pure running! this is what running is all about.

    bawal maarte!

  10. my ksabay na trail run yung merrel! dpt ipost nyo na yung finisher’s shirt para madami sumali!! sana yung 50k n fnisher shirt my nklagay na dstance sa likod!! its already an ULTRAMARATHON so dapat mgnda yung fin shirt…

  11. Suggestion for the Organizer, there should be a registration center somewhere in Laguna and Alabang considering that the venue is in the South.

  12. Since the site is quite far, can I just go there Friday night and pitch my tent near the place? Sana meron at safe naman? Para kasing mahirap yung magko-commute pa at such so early hours. Hindi naman kasi 10k lang yung tatakbuhin, 50k po yun, kaya kailangan talaga ng pahinga. Thanks!!

  13. To Ian and Carlo Dacanay, may mga buses ba dito sa Manila na may 24hrs na byahe going to Balibago? Anung oras kaya ang earliest at last trip? Thanks!

  14. I just did 65km ultramarathon last May 1, 2011 with the same organizer. We were 216 starters and only 192 finished within the cut-off time. It is true no frills all thrills. I already registered for this event as my second ultramarathon for the year.
As stated, be self-contained during the run. Bring your own hydration and other supplies. Aid stations are km 9, 20, and 25.
No singlet, finisher shirt only. 50km cut-off time 9 hours. And lastly it is limited slots only.

  16. @Jaja,
