  1. Great run while raining. Naalala ko yung Men’s Health All-Terrain nung tumawid tayo sa baha. :) Good job RunRio! This serves as a nice prelude to next week’s Afroman 32k run.

  3. Was definitely my favorite race of the year. I loved the weather for running and it was really well organized. Totally worth it as there was so many goodies. Congratulations new balance and chevy for a fantastic event!

  6. This is my first run:) it was such a fun and fulfilling experience for me, the feeling is so surreal:) I finished my 5K run in 32 mins:)

  7. glad my iPhone made it through the rain..
great race… this only the 2nd time i have ran a race under the rain…

i didn’t win the car… i hope they raffle it in every race!!!

  8. Epic Run! haha!! oo nga naging prang trail run dahil sa baha! haha but nevertheless I enjoyed it! hehe.. dapat kasi ipagbawal na ang ulan pag sunday.

  9. The race was great, full of hydration plus plenty of bananas…hehehe…this was my second time running under the heavy rain, and just like the first one, the experience was priceless, para lang akong bata na naglalaro…

Congratulations to all Runners who participated in the race! More Horsepower to all of us…

  10. Yes, it was really a great run with so much fun under the rain. For me it’s another milestone. I’m a first timer in the 10K category yet i was able to complete the race with very minimal walking. COngratulations to the winner of CRUZE CHEVY..

  11. i was afraid of getting sick at the start of the race. my throat began to feel itchy. pero matigas pa rin ulo ko – hala…takbo!!!!!!
glad that after the run, i was feeling better. sana better pa rin ako tom and the day after tom. otherwise, papagalitan ako! haha…adik!
congratulations power runners! we’ve braved the rain! til next run!

  12. Yes indeed, it was just like a trail run in the middle of the big city! But all the finishers must have gained a confidence having beaten the rain! Great job to all of us finished 25K :)

  13. Congratulations to everyone that participated in the race… It was really tough running under the rain with soaked shoes, and my first time to go beyond 21k. Next year, i’Ll be back with a better time and I’ll be the winner of the Chevy!

  15. Over-all it was great! despite the downpour and yung baha ,naging trail run tuloy. And your socks got soggy inside your shoes…
It was New Balance Power Run …kaya lahat ng powers ko inilabas ko na!

next year ulit sana 2 car na ipa-raffle.hehehe!

    Good Job! God bless

  16. one of the best run i ran this year…very organized and thanx for the bananas and foodgels, i survived my first 25k run in my life… i gave all my powers and balance to conquer the flooded pavements..whooahhhhh… cool, was able to have a shot with rio. it’s much exciting if we got another finishers medal after the run. more power to the organizers as well as the sponsors. see ya next year. gogogo…

  17. the rain, it wasn’t surprising anymore. we usually run mt.makiling uphill-downhill under moderate to heavy rain in our little town at los banos. but the feeling of running with a chevy to be given away was a different story…sayang…it wasn’t me…

  18. my first run in the rains after a year & 3 months of running :-) definitely one for the books and finished my 5k at 38:30, not too bad for a finish considering the floody trail trek this time around. Hurray for another great race!

  19. It was a very nice run.. I enjoyed it a lot.. First Time ko mag Run ng 25K and it took me 2 hours and 13 min to finish it.. hope i can always run here in Manila.. Thanks NB and Chevy for this wonderful experience.

  20. it was also my first 25K run and it was great considering the bad weather and the flooded roads along the course? sarap pala tumakbo sa ilalim ng ulan. Congrats Runrio it was a great event!

  21. Congrats to us finishers of this very rainy event! kala ng iba hindi matutuloy ang takbong ito dahil sa ulan. knowing its a RunRio event – rain or shine, its a go.

went home 1AM from also a light rainy Energizer night event just to get my Bib# and other stuff, couple of hours off again to BGC for the PowerRun, running high feelin!

had a back2back 5K from both and had a smashin time sharing the route with runner friends/buddies. always great running with you, guys!

thank you DOLE Phils for the extra FREE singlet for the 1st 1,500 runners of the 5K distance! wohoo i was one of them!

had the chance to visit Coach Rio’s new running store – RioVana – ang galing esp the shower room with lockers!

  22. thank you DOLE Phils for the very nice extra FREE singlet for the 1st 1,500 runners of the 5K distance. wohoo i was one of them!

some PF friends had the chance to visit Coach Rio’s new running store – RioVana – ang galing esp the shower room with lockers! the recovery clinic is going to be avail shortly. astig, Coach, one of the firsts those amenities ;)

congrats to Chevy/New Balance, RunRio and all supporting sponsors.

BIG congrats to us all finishers for conquering another rainy run!

  23. My first 25K, And I am fully prepared for this race, had my 1 month training for this RACE. I’m just not prepared running on a HEAVY rain. Well what the heck dumayo pako from Bicol to BGC pra ma experience patakbo dito sa Makati. New experience nga talaga, running under the heavy rain, prang bumilis pa nga ako, hindi ako nppagod, wow MONSTER naku!! huminto ako sa 17K na. to rest for 5mins hydrate at gutom na rin ako.. all in all, It was fun. See you guys next sunday, Sa 32K nman tayo mag habulan….

  24. Hi guys very nice race!! Congrats to us and the organizers as well. I just wanted to point out to all the runners especially dun sa mga nag power gel or yung energy supplements (di ko alam tawag mga sir i haven’t used it pa kasi) to please have the courtesy to put in a trash bin or kung pedeng hold on to it muna para sa next water station na may basurahan.

Let us be considerate and respectful po lalo na sa environment natin. Sa mountaineering po meron kaming practice Leave No Trace sana po maging practice din natin to every race.

    marami pong salamat!

  26. @seamananakbo, your a good example to runners. great. @stryder_lele perfect idea. “Leave no trace” must be everyone’s concern and maybe a lifestyle not just during running.

  27. It was my 1st time to run 25k for so many years of running, it was a great experience.

  28. Yup running is not just about running, we should also show some class and etiquette :) .. after the ran me my friend are expecting some negative comments.. haha fortunately there are none so far.. ahhahah :)) but it was really an exciting experience. sorry na lang sa mga nag backout. haha :))

  29. my first time to run while raining, muntik na akong di tumuloy, but when I saw a lot people preparing to run, i was encouraged and it was something to remember, basang-basa talaga, pati shoes ko soaking wet, but it was fun and a good experience.

pro bilib ako kay lolo.. ang galing.. he finished 25km in 4hrs…

  31. Enjoyed. Pero had to pee at a nearby jollibee and petron gas station.

What happened to the portalets? Specially sa may Buendia side sana.

  32. It was my first race EVER. Finished 10k and loved every stride I made. The rain made the experience better and more memorable. Mad props to Runrio and everyone involved in the run.

  33. Bumiyahe pa ako from San Pedro Laguna to join this race. Pagdating ko ng Ayala, I was thinking of going back kasi anlakas na ng ulan. Good thing I didn’t. One of the best decisions I have made! I made a new 10K PR under the rainy conditions and nag Buendia flyover pa ako for the 1st time! Wooooo! Libre nga pala ang race kit ko, I won through Ms. Jaymie’s TBR website. Sobrang saya talaga nito! Thanks NB, Chevy and Runrio! d:->

  34. twas a great 25K run. my first ever and memorable bcoz of rain, again, i was late in gun start. hope that this will not happen again…
need not to hydrate more as there was no heat. am now ready for 32K RU3 on sun. see you guys…

  35. To those who ran the 10K and nag-GPS, can you tell me what the exact mileage was? I use my phone to track my runs but this time I didn’t bring it because of the rain. Nagre-route kasi so I can’t use the map on the kit.

I think I consumed 3 – threw the wrappers away, one sa I.S., then sa Kalayaan flyover, and lastly sa may Jollibee sa 32nd. I should’ve had the decency to dispose of it sa mga trash bin, especially hindi lahat ng areas merong magpupulot ng kalat.

I agree – we should always leave no trash behind.

Another good practice is to shoot the plastic cups in the trash bins sa mga hydration stations. This way, the organizers wouldn’t have to hire so many people in cleaning up our mess – who knows, baka bumaba yung registration fees.

Anyway, congratulations to all finishers. It’s always fun to run in the rain!

  37. It was a great and excellent 25K run for me, why? new PR for 25K and 21K as well, fulfilling!

Also a preparation for the next run – 32K run on RU3 and 21K run on Nathan ridge at Tagaytay.

A simple advise to all runners, as much as possible, give smile to runners it helps us to run better. :-)

Thanks to all organizers of these events! God Bless.

  38. @ dom: yun sa kin din libre from takbo.ph kaya kelangan ko tumakbo sayang pagkapanalo ko. hehe. ang saya sa ulan. rily had a great time!

  39. it was a fun run indeed..deadma na ang ulan..everyone had a great time! congrats to Runrio for organizing the event..swerte ng winner ng new car.. =)

  40. …the trash bins should be placed about a hundred meters after the water stations… still, thanks for reminding that we can hold on to the cups until the next batch of trash bins… why not come up with big extra pockets in the front of the singlets in the future? …. I’m sure Runrio can do this!!

  41. despite that am late because of the rain i was able to make it passed my 10k run this is great for me for my non stop running under the rain….have fun

  43. from Men’s Health:
URBANATHLON ANNOUNCEMENT: Every year we’ve been getting all sorts of feedback about the hurdles, saying they’re either too low, or too high. This year, to made sure everybody’s happy with the SUUNTO HURDLES. Five rows of elevated long pieces of wood will surely break your stride and mess with you momentum. Now, what if they were increasing in height? Meaning the next hurdle is higher than the previous one, and so on.

  44. this is weak three days after the race and no posted results and to think they used timing chips……very dis appointed here

  45. I have a bad feeling that result is delayed as they are still fixing the split time specially for the 25k runners.if u can remember the first 2 lucky runners drawn for the chevy raffle was disqualified due to incomplete split time. Kawawa naman sila if they were disqualified due malfunctioning timing sensors which usually happens.

  46. Feeling ko, ako yung isa sa first 2 raffle stub drawn. I ran 25K, will they consider the first two runners, which they think, not qualified?

  47. @dyands, if you believed of the word “malas” cguro yun na yun.peace Last year 5K runner din yung nanalo sa BGC run na chev din pa raffle.

  48. I looked at the face of Coach Rio when he declared the first stub disqualified, he seemed so alarmed and a change from his happy mood at that time. He knew that the fault might me on their part and not the runner missing his/her split checkpoint. DTI doesn’t know if it could have been a technical problem on the part of RunRio and not on the part of those 2 who were previously drawn, it was unfair not to announce the number of the DQ numbers and that only brought speculations among the participants.

I congratulate the winner though and he has 60 days to claim his car and pay the 30% withholding tax for it, maybe around 230K pesos. Not bad for a brand new Cruze.

  49. Naku, let’s just be happy for the winner of the Chevy Cruze. Para lang talaga sa kanya yun. Darating din ang swerte natin. Kanya kanya naman ‘yan. Pero ang tagal ng results. Gusto ko na din malaman eh. Hehehe

  50. Hi! I really enjoyed my first 10k Run. I dub it as my first 10k run with much blessing from the skies hehehe. Actually I’m from Cagayan de Oro and just came to Global City for this Power Run 2011. The effort really really paid up.

Thanks to Chevrolet, New Balance, and most especially to the organizers under the leadership of Coach Rio. =)

  52. if you did multiple running event this year, you will notice that there are 2 timing software commonly used..The one by runningmate and the bazu by runrio..out of the 12 runs i did, 7 were using runningmate and 5 were using bazu..comparing the two softwares, bazu is more powerful and should be faster..however, when it comes to releasing result, runningmate is far..far..far..faster than bazu..the longest time i waited in runningmate is one day which is the adobo run which was done in the evening..if the event is done in the morning, result will be out in the afternoon.minsan may advance text pa sila sayo re your result.just my observation.
