  1. Hi guys: Me again, btw, after I go through this one at 32K. Will I have a chance of finishing 24K with QCIM? I’ve done 3 21Ks this year finishing in 2:30(Run w/ the Masters), 2:10(Milo Elims @ MOA), and 2:13hrs(Octoberrun). I only began running this year from February doing several 3Ks, 5Ks, 10Ks up to now at the age of 40. I’m a lone runner. Tnx

  2. first time ko mag run sa unilab at runrio

tapos ang panget pa ng singlet nabasa ko kasi maganda feed back ng runners before instead na mag improve pinapanget nila yung quality and service.

tignan na lang natin sa event day pag panget pa din yung nangyari last run ko na po to sa runrio.

    AXN maganda singlet sulit binayad.

  3. ronron…. the answer is yes you can..!
    i also started running this yr, january, i started from 5k, 10k, 15k, 16k, ive already had 2 21k, axn and octoberun…

ive registered now for 32k, and planning
    to join QCIM this december!

you’ll be proud of yourself coz you have
finished a marathon, considering that youve just started at the same year.,.,

in less than one year you conquered a marathon and become so competitive! ^_^
    that would be great..!!

    Remember: proper training is the
    key to success in running!!!

    Goodluck to all runners! ^_^

  4. haha,,, this would be my longest distance to run so far.,.,., anung klaseng mga runners kaya ang makakasabay ko sa 32k.,.,
grabe.,., mga sanay na sanay na siguro sila sa marathon.,., ako first time ko pa lang.,., hehe.,., kitakits runners!

  5. sana pwedeng 900 nalang kapag husband and wife ang kasali sa 32k… suggestion lang po RU3.. kasi magpapa regs kami this saturday or sunday… sana masagot yung suggestion ko… thanks…

  6. sana pwedeng 900 nalang kapag husband and wife ang kasali sa 32k… suggestion lang po RU3.. kasi magpapa regs kami this saturday or sunday… sana masagot yung suggestion ko… thanks…

sana pati sa 21k pwedeng 750 for husband and wife….

  7. why o why….sana nag nov6 na lang tong run na to… musta @yingski?..thanks for being my running buddy sa last kms of the MIM..

  8. @popoy – musta buddy? I would love to pace with you again dito. Registered na pala ako sa 32K category. Sana maayos ang sched mo para maka bawi naman tayo from our bad experience sa MIM. Keep me posted!

  11. @Burnz

eyy, advanced Happy 1st yr 21K Runversary @KOTR Sunday!

if you have been consistently running 21K for this past year and then do a 32K for RU3, that shld not be a problem esp in prep for your full mary this QCIM. kaya yan.

mas maigi rin if you also have increased your training mileage a few months ago so that you have given your body more than enough time to adjust to the demands of a 42K race — strength + endurance.

ang sabi nga, know and defy your limits but listen to your body.

  12. Registered yesterday for ru3 32k..this will be my 1st 32k..started running last aug.25,2011 only..had joined 2 5kms,3 10kms and 2 21kms..i just hope i survive my 1st 32km..Been training at least 3-4 times a week,,,goodluck to all of us…

  13. After an early morning sunday run at a very successful running sortie at the MOA… We went to edsa shang to register for the run rio trilogy leg 3.. I’m a little concern about how we will get the accorded limited series tech shirt after participating in the run rio trilogy.. Post event materials (the cert and the baller) for run rio leg 2 was yet to be delivered… Hope we can here from run rio guys soon… Run happy! :)

  14. Looking forward to this RU3..My debut 21k..(Finished na 1 3Km, 2 5Kms, 6 10Kms, 1 16.Km without injuries).. 1 more dress rehearsal sa Adobo 15Km. Respect for the progression of the distances..All this in 14th months..See you guys! & Good luck to all.

  15. nako. may issue pala ang singlet nito..crap.this is my first 21k…plano ko pa naman ipa-heat press yung bib ko sa singlet after the race para memorable.sabog!OLATS!

  16. @Psychorunner69

    hi there?
is it your first time to get a RunRio timing chip? coz if so, you are entitled to one.
those chips are only issued once.

in the succeeding RunRio events, the system will only take note of your designated chip numbers/runner.

  17. @Rogs

OO nga po, legitimate concern nga po iyan talaga re discount for senior citizens. I hope organizers will take note of this.

  18. @mikechete

RunUnited is one of the sought after race here. In some cases, there are no onsite registration anymore. They even run out of slots before the end of registration period. Try contacting runrio via their hotline or through their facebook account.

    https://runrio.com/contact-rio/

    Run happy!

  19. @Rogs / @Lance A

i’ve skimmed RA 7432 & 9994 and it wasn’t stipulated that the discount applies to such. though there was a mention of “admission fees privilege” under Rule IV Section 5

however this is subject to the interpretation of the Supreme Court. with that, mere mortals like us may have a different view on this

though it was also stated that senior citizen has exemption on VAT (Rule IV, Article 7). question now is, does the registration fee imposed has one

  20. @ronron

Pre-race scan your bib & save it a maybe a jpeg(para malinis pa yung bib, pede din post-race para mas realistic). The heat press method is fairly known to many T-shirts printing shops, so they would know this. Nakapagpagawa na po ako ng t-shirts ng favorite football team ko na ako lang nagdesign. So I reckon, madali lang nila maprint yung bib mo forever dun sa singlet mo. Thats my plan for my first 21K…

  21. finisher shirts study A B & C,,, sorry guys wala man ni isa dito ang natupad na design sa naka post, ibang-iba ang kinalabasan ng mga finisher shirts ng 21K at 32K, sayang type ko pa naman ang study B,,,

  22. @jeramy

gusto ko din ung Study B. i suspect RunRio has design issues with the preliminaties which forced them to take a different route

or perhaps it was something else that motivated the team to change the design altogether. nonetheless we would still expect a great run on this day =)

  23. ala ng small and medium sizes singlet sa planet sports glorietta at di na daw sila magkkaroon,…kelngan ko sana ng 2pcs each..mga bro any suggestion san meron pang available..Thank you.

  24. @Lance A. Tnx for the info mamen. Now lang ako nakasilip sa PF eh.
Nga pala, I’ve practiced running for almost 3hrs which is my predicted time for 32k in proportion with my own pace and wearing the RU3 singlet. Sorry to say, “GASMATI” talaga siya. Goodluck na lang sa chafing yung mga hindi sanay, don’t forget petroleum jelly para sa areas prone. Surprisingly, natanggal na yung kumalat na ink sa likod, so ok na uli yung orange afro ni coach Rio. Hehe.

  25. walang cut off time siguro kasi wala din sila nilagay sa runrio website. pero kailangan matapos ko 21km in 2hrs or 2hrs 30mins kasi papanoorin ko pa laban ni pacquiao.

hahaha.. good luck to all runners

  26. @abeumali
acdg to the RunRio website, no gunstart updates yet. still TBA – to be announced.

    @michelle
i dont think so. but if there will be,its going to be posted.

  27. wooow!…daming first-timer sa 21K, sali ako dyan…hehehe

yes, i’m running 21K for the first time and my 3rd running event for the year, kayanin ko sana (bahala na si batman…)

  28. Hi guys! 11 days to RU3! Are you excited? Just got a question…this is going to be a new distance (leaving the comfort zone of 21k) and a new route for me. I was wondering if there are going to be uphills and downhills in the 32k route (my definition of uphill/downhill is AXN Run…just to give you an idea). I just want to know what to expect so I can customize my pace. Thanks!!!

  29. aba dapat e walangcut-off ito; I dont remember anything before posted regarding cut-offs..factors like that come into play & is significant in making a decision to join/sign up for a race. Di naman tayo lahat e halimaw. The organiser should know this. To put or suddenly announce a cut-off this near to race day is like telling your students midway the semester that the passing grade just got adjusted higher. Obviously di pede yun. It’s like changing the rules midway though a basketball game.

yan po yung naka lagay sa runrio.com

dapat matapos ako ng 2hrs or 2hrs 30mins sa 21km

manonood pa ko ng laban ni pacquiao, sayang yung ticket

  31. huwag naman sana may cutoff. I always run (no walk) on all the races I joined but at a manageable pace. no added pressure please.

this is the main reason why I skipped CHIM. meron pa kasi silang nalalaman na cut off for 5k , 10k, 15k.

  32. wala naman po akong nakikita na cut off time sa RU3

palagay ko di na po sila maglalagay ng cut off time kasi next week na yung race.

I pray na sana lahat ng runners safe makatapos ng race.

  33. @ultraman

coach rio did not mention any cutoff for these distances. though road closure is usually until 11AM. plenty of time for us to finish the race. i intend to cover the afroman distance in 4 – 4.5 hours

good luck and see you on the road =)

  34. 2nd half marry ko to.. and i lyk the study B.. weehh.. pano nga po pala ung commemorative shirt para sa mga naka kompleto ng trilogy?.. dun na rin ba ibibigay? D panamin na re receive ung 2nd baller namin.. please advise po.. Tnx!

  35. wala sigurong cut-off time to… all finishers in 21k/32k may medal at tshirt..

kung gusto nyo ng cutoff time para lang may pagbasehan tayo.. e gmitin natin yung sa milo which is 2.5hrs..

  36. @Dang

It was also my concerned when my girlfriend lost her chip. A Runrio crew from Trinoma said that if their database knew that 2 chips was released to a runner, Runrio will notify the runner to pay for the 2nd chip. But I don’t know how Runrio will push the runner to pay for the said 2nd chip that was issued. Paano yun? Hindi tayo ire-register sa mga susunod na Runs even we have the money (that they need) for the registration fee? Medyo malabo pa ito since Runrio website is not releasing any updates regarding the said issue.

    Run safe!

  37. @runnr

sir sali ka na CIHM…wala din po na ako kasama sa mga friends ko dahil nga yung mga cut-off cut-off na yun..my friends got turned off..kaya ayun ako na lang po ang magsusubok.huhuh.

    P.S. personally, I hate cut-offs also.

  38. any update regarding the ru2 post race kit? ipupursue pa ba nila yung free tshirt if ever you have completed the three legs? i haven’t received any for the ru2 yet, sino na po may nareceived?

  39. @Thor: Ang pinaka uphill/downhill ay yung two flyovers along Roxas Blvd sa may Buendia and EDSA.
@argus: OO men, pangpafresh nga PH care na pink. Kaso yung akin ipinamigay ko na. hehehe.

  40. I hope runrio will read all these blogs and do something about the complaints. The singlet is of low quality nga kumakalat ink at matigas fabric, the best singlet for me this year MBC Clean up run but in terms of fabric october run festival.

  41. @Edward Avenido

afaik, coach rio nor his team reads such. which is why it is best to send him runrio team an email for any concerns that we might have

better yet, since open na ung riovana baka andun lang sya sa store and raise such issues to him directly =)

  42. Among all the the Run, RUN UNITED is the best because of it is very organized, have lots of freebies and embraces family values.
God bless to all of us Runners. See you on November 13.

  43. @Joy S. Gravador:
Naku po, goodluck sa inyo if ever. Sabi nila wala daw cut-off time for this event. Pero usually it’s 2.5hrs for 21K.
Now, unless you’re a track and field athlete in your school, you can finish the race on time and in one piece, because if not, it’s alay lakad for you.

  44. I doubt that there is a 2.5hrs cut-off for the 21km or any of the categories for that matter..look up the results of RU2…may 3:20 ang time nya sa 21km, meron pa nga 4hrs+ eh.

Sa MILO, ayun well-known na may cut-offs dun!

  45. good luck nga sa ‘ting mga tatakbo ng 32k especially sa mga first timers above 21k. taper off na sa training at enjoy na lang sa carbo loading.
@dennis caco ingats lang bro. ganyang-ganyan ako na-injure. back-to-back weekends na 21K. laspag paa ko. yung sa yo, 25K+32K pa.

  46. Hey guys (@ALL) what’s your race plan for this…? Its my first time to venture out of the 21K distance (“gulp”,Diyos ko…) anyway, how feasible is this? (for my own use…)

    Km 01-10 pace 9.0/km. = 1 hr. 30 mins.
    Km 11-21 pace 8.0/km. = 1 hr. 28 mins.
    Km 22-32 pace 7.0/km. = 1 hr. 17 mins.
    ==============
    Total = 4 hrs. 15 mins

I deliberately start slow para pwde pa maka-negative split sa later half, and the pacing above already considered possible allowance for walk breaks, 30-secs stretching and hydration…., another thing, wala akong intended time goal here, informed sources discourage setting any time goals if a runner is doing a new distance for the first time….

the fact that I made my race plan public makes it fair game for any comments, you guys may speak freely huwag lang naman brutal…he he he…thanks for any kind advise, if any… :)

  47. New distance + new route + new challenge + strategy + finish safe and strong ;D

    Planned paces:
    1) 5km: 6min/km, warm up run.
    2) 6k-16k: 6min-5:30/km.
    3) 17k-27k: 5:30-5:15min/km???
    4) 28k-32k: 5:15-4:45min/km???

Inputs are very much appreciated!!! Thank you!!!

  48. @Thor
very nice, with that pace, a sub-3 time is within your striking distance….

for me, I would be happy if I can finish 32K in one piece at 4hours+ :)

  49. @BayRunner

based from my experience, a run-walk strategy is your best bet. a negative split is nice but the disparity shouldn’t be that big. do the 1st half (16km) 10mins slower than the 2nd half

your plan, i think, is feasible. especially if the 9 and 8 pace is within Zone 3 of the maxHR. if not, you’ll consume your glycogen stores and drastically slow down on the last phase

as for me, i will try to consistently hit 7-8 pace all throughout. kapag hindi na kinaya eh lalakarin ko na lang papuntang finish line, hehehe! see you on the road =)

  50. here are the assembly/gunstart times of each categories:

    Category Assembly Gun Start
    500M 6:30AM 7:30AM
    3k 3:00AM 6:00AM
    5K 3:00AM 5:50AM
    10K 3:00AM 5:30AM
    15K 3:00AM 5:10AM
    21K 3:00AM 4:50AM
    32K 3:00AM 4:30AM

  51. @barefootdaves
….yup, yun nga ang concern ko, I am painfully aware that running at something like 65% to 75% of your MHR, glycogen stores is good for, well, 3 hrs+ the most, then, low-batt na after that… ha ha ha eh Diyos ko po,yun projected pace ko dito umabot ng 4 hours….yari…

Galloway run-walk nga to avoid depletion, namihasa kasi sa 21K eh, adjust, adjust..

btw, good luck also to your current TBR Bull sessions .. I chickened out on that one ha ha ha hindi ko pa time talaga …

see you on the road….God bless always

  52. @BayRunner @BarefootDaves
Hi! How do you estimate glycogen storage use w/ max HR? I’m comfortable with 80-85%/21k but I haven’t trained for 3 hours with that HR since I just finished KOTR & worried that a long run will injure me & won’t be able to do 32k…insights please?

  53. your conversation are informative. guys do you think i’ll be able to finish my first 21k within 2:30 cutoff. as of now i can do the first 12.5k at 1:30, but i don’t know what will happen to me for the rest of the 9k, i’ve not reached my training plan of up to 16k. lakad takbo na lang the rest!!!
