Powerhouse race directors Eric Emperio (10K), Thumbie Remigio (3K and 5K) and Rio Dela Cruz (21K) will join forces to make this momentous event happen on the said date. The 21K distance is closed to public and will be participated by KBPIP sponsors and partners, and will go around Metro Manila passing by Estero de Paco where the rehabilitation of Pasig River was made.

I know there has been questions on where the funding for last year went!? Kapit Bisig Para sa Ilog Pasig was able to give us some rehabilitation photos of Estero de Paco for everyone to see the progress that has been made for only a year.

Cleaning Pasig River is no easy task, but the Foundation was able to give a definite timeline and a systematic way on how to attack the problem, in their statement, in 2012 they are targeting the U-BELT area, 2013 would be QC/San Juan/Makati, 2014 would focus on Tondo and Marikina, 2015 is in Laguna, and finally in 2016 – Manila Bay!

Sounds Impossible?! Probably, but i will surely be impossible without your support. I believe in hope at looking into a future where once a majestic Pasig River was clean and alive

  1. ah sorry. disregard my query above.
read it na 21K is closed to public.

i wonder who would enjoy the 21k more
the “KBPIP sponsors and partners” or the 21k running public?

    • based on the press-con, they actually acknowledged na naging alay-lakad sya last year, so this year they dedicated an entire road for each 3K, 5K and 10K, may consolidation point lang nga sa SM MOA globe, but let’s see…

  2. //aawtz..! there is DISCRIMINATION here..why can’t they allow runners to participate in the 21k category..? this way, everyone would have the equal chance to see how the rehabilitation of the pasig river/ sewerage is progressing, considering that not only the KBPIP sponsors and partners are contributing to this project.

//calling the attention of ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. – KBPIP organizing committee.

  3. @suplado e kauri ka ba nila? we passion runner run for FUN sila running for FUND, oks lang yun marami pa namang darating na run for us. Give them a break konting pa-suplado rin wag ka na tampo. Lets wish them good luck sana tumirik ang araw agad para mainit mabawasan yung kutis nilang flawless in running 21k o kaya umulan din (ala Milo) na me kasamang kulog at kidlat. ^_^

  4. tama. i ran nung 2009 naglakad at walang matakbuhan. nadala. hindi tumakbo nung 2010 at accdg to the participants halos hindi makalakad sa dami. hay. i’ll just register, i will not show up. hehe

  5. @takboista, bakit ayaw mong magpasali dito? e for a good cause naman ang run. nakita mo naman ang result last year diba. kapuso ka ba dude, kaya kontra ka sa run?

    ^-^peace!

  6. if ever ill join this cause, ill donate my time and run for 5K! also a good recovery run after RU3 plus the fact its a RunRio co-partnered event! wohoo!

  9. @RedCapGuy,

no problem. at least makatulong man lang tayo sa rehab ng pasig river. though ayaw ko lang makisiksik sa madaming tao kaya lower distance na lang

i was entertaining the thought of tagging along with the 21k runners. since mag-start sila sa BGC, it’ll be easy to spot them. same with the 21k group last year

but that might pose logistical problems with rio’s team not unless magdadala tayo ng sarili nating hydration. anyway, lets just run na lang sa 3k =)

  10. @barefootdaves yeah, natrauma ko sa run last year eh… note to PR runners, definitely not the race to set PR ;)

pero nung nakita ko bwfore and after pictures pati ang nakalayout na plans..gusto ko maging part neto! 1team tayo lahat!

  11. sabi ko din after last year na di ako sasali dito pero after ko makita kung san napunta ang 350 php ko, aba, willing to give it a shot!
for once, let’s not think about PRs, but the cause….pede itong another meet and greet amidst the sea of people :)

  13. //count me in..! i will join all November races (since it’s my birthday month)..ahahah..! and besides, early this year, we had the opportunity to conduct volunteer activities at Estero de Paco — clean up, landscaping and community interaction..i had the first hand experience in cleaning at least a part of the area…had an interaction with the River Warriors (they are the ones who do the maintenance of the area)..joining this event will help the further the rehabilitation..see you there..!

That was my first run na may bag at mukang Ninja Turtle.

Anyway, I’ll still join this event. Ok lang maglakad, makakatulong naman. Sana lang maglagay ng basurahan kasi last year nagkalat ang mga plastic cups.

  21. @ Joeben M. : sobrang gulo last year!!! may nakita pa akong mga members ng el shaddai karga mga anak nila. kaka-awa! muntik pa magka riot sa bigayan ng finisher’s band (whatever you call yung give away nila) – paano ‘di magkakagulo, isa lang booth for all the 116,000+ “runners” tapos dalawa pa finish line :P saan ka hihinto? may mga nadukutan (alay lakad kasi)…yung tinakbo kong 5k e isa lang hydration booth lang ata nadaanan ko tapos 4 lang yung tao sa hydration booth (kaya ba nila yun?) tapos pa, after ng run, balik kami sa CCP kasi dun kami nakapark, symepre, wala masakyan kaya agawan sa taxi wala kami choice kundi maglakad pabalik…kaya, sa mga sasali, be ready na lang ‘ika nga, CAVEAT EMPTOR – let the buyer (runner) beware! good luck sa mga sasali dito…kung pupunta man ako dito, volunteer marshal na lang o kaya bandit runner :P

  22. @ Joeben M.: kung balak mo tumakbo dito e, baka ‘di ka makakatakbo (kung same set up as last year) and don’t expect na may race result (kung walang rfid tag). dala ka sarili mo hydration. kung meron man i-provide, e sigurado, pipila ka para maka inom

  23. …LAST YEAR’S RUN WAS CHAOTIC… I AM STILL GIVING THIS RUN ANOTHER SHOT SINCE THE MONEY WAS PUT TO GOOD USE…

REQUESTING THE ORGANIZERS TO ALLOW ALL THOSE WHO HAVE FASTER AVERAGE PACES TO START FIRST…

    WALKERS WILL GO LAST…!!!

HOW CAN THE RUNNERS FINISH IF THEY KEEP AVOIDING THE WALKERS? I WAS RUNNING SIDE TO SIDE AND BUMPING THE SLOW ONES LAST YEAR… MAYBE ALLOT 3 LANES FOR WALKERS AND 2 LANES FOR RUNNERS!!!

    PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THIS!!!
LET’S IMPROVE THE COURSE VERSUS LAST YEAR!!

  24. AND THE FINISH LINE???? I WAS NOT ABLE TO CROSS IT BECAUSE OF THOSE INCONSIDERATE WALKERS WHO CHOSE TO BLOCK THE PATH LEADING TO THE FINISH LINE…

SO HOW DID THE ORGANIZERS COME UP WITH THE OFFICIAL FINISH TIME?? BEATS ME…

  25. EXPECT SHORTAGE OF WATER DUE TO INEFFICIENT HYDRATION STATIONS… I HAD TO STOP BY A CONVENIENCE STORE TO BUY MY OWN SPORT DRINK…

THEY WANT ANOTHER WORLD RECORD??? THEY SHOULD MAKE SURE THE HAVE ENOUGH WATER TO HYDRATE 150k PARTICIPANTS!!!!!!!

  28. 10.10.10 When I married my best friend. But before that, we ran first the Run for Ilog Pasig together with our guests. After the race, we went to Eco Park for the wedding ceremony and then we planted trees just right after the wedding. Good luck:)

Go Pasig Run!

  32. CHARITY TALAGA ITO? WALANG SINGLET?
sabagay mag sisinglet pa ba eh kung almost 90%student malamang malugi pa ang organizer, count me in 3k pacing hehehe ^^

  33. //@Ziek: intern — technically, you’re still a student, imo…

@jajaboy: don’t fill out the bib# portion when you pre-register. you will fill out that portion once you have your racekit.

    FAQ

No, there will be no on-site registrations. Every participant must have pre-registered.

    2. This is another attempt to break the world record. How do you intend to count everyone?

Each participant will have an RFID chip attached to the race bib. This chip will be read when the participant crosses the starting line and also when the participant crosses the finish line. As per Guinness’ World Records requirements, a participant must be counted at the start line AND at the finish line, so it is very important that a participant not miss crossing the starting line.

    11. Will there be shuttle services from MOA back to CCP, P. Gil or EDSA MRT stations?

There will also be limited shuttle services from the finish area going back to the start areas to assist those who brought private vehicles and parked there. 41. to all,

  42. @jajaboy

as i know, this is to defer the cost kaya wala na singlet. also, it is a fact na madami ang sasali and that would be a logistical nightmare just to monitor the huge inventory

singlet is sold separately, for example if ur running in a 5K category.. race kits is P300 and singlet is P300 so ang cash out mo ay P600.. hindi ko lang alam kung pano yung sa student.. kasi nung may nag inquire about that e nagtanong ako so ayun clear naman yung sinabi sa akin na singlet is sold separately..

tapos kapag nakapurchase kana ng racekit mo.. you have to activate your bib number dun sa website nila.. pero bago nga yun dapat nakapagpa-pre registered kana..

  44. hmmm sold separately hehehe mukhang maganda naman ata,,kasi may option ka to run lang with bib for the sake of helping lang and if you have extra you can purchase the singlet ayus na strategy pwedeng shirt lang o cap kasi may cap din eh…sana nga lang talaga maging safe, maayus at mas maganda pa ang ilog pasig..idamay na din sana yung mga nasalanta nang bagyo. :)

  45. I joined the 10K last year and medyo magulo nga. In the area where all race distances merged, hindi ka na makatabo. The walkers were blocking the entire road. Their vehicle traffic control also needed improvement as there were numerous areas na nagpumilit mag cross ang mga vehicles.

The claiming booth was right beside the entrance to the enclosed area kaya ang nag merge yung mga nakapila at yung pumapasok na runners.
