    My first race was Unilab leg 1 last March 6. It is my first time to run and it is 21k. That's also without proper training. I got calf cramps during that time and my Unilab pictures shows I am in pain. I did the 21k run because my friends are all for 21k. One of them is a girl and she is my crush so I am really challenged that time.

    I finished the race unbelievably in 2hr 34 mins. I was expecting 3hrs time.

    Since then instead of hating fun run I fell in love with the sport.
    Can anyone help me put my picture in my profile.

    Thanks Ms mars. Yan may pic na rin ako di ko lng mahanap yung picture ko dun Unilab so yan na lng. Join ka rin ba sa Rexona run? Ako pinag-iisipan ko pa baka kasi umulan that day. Pag omokay panahon join ako dun.

    My First Run was this year's Yamaha Run for Heroes 5k :)
    I finished it in 40 minutes. Not bad for a beginner right?
    More runs to come!!!

    haha ms Mars for sure kung matutuloy ako sa CamSur 21k tatakbuhin ko :)
    wow pareho pala tayo ng tatakbuhan, ang di ko lang sure eh itong Milo mukhang
    nalalayuan ako Rexona, Skip ang Milo, NBA Fit and Unilab leg2 all for 10k
    wow sabay tayo :)

    My first race was last Sept 15, 2010. It was a free fun run called "Takbo Ko, Libro Mo" where instead of a registration fee, the participants were advised to donate books for kids. I loved the concept. It was organized by the National Historical Institute and held along Roxas Boulevard from CCP to Luneta (about 3K).

    Since then I've been running almost every month:

    - Oct, The Pink Run (10K)
    - Nov, Run United 2 2010 (15K)
    - Dec, Corregidor (21K)
    - Feb, Condura Skyway (21K)
    - Mar, Run United 1 2011 (21K)
    - Apr, Hyundai (10K official + 5K pacer)

    Next is Milo for my 1st full mary. *crossfingers* :)

    My first race was last Dec. 27 2003. 10km.
    3rd place age groupers 15 below.the funny thing was we were only three for that category. :))

    don't do 21km muna. improve your 10km 1st. wag kayo magmadali na mkapag-long distance. pero kung gusto nyo tlaga,kayo ang masusunod.hehe it's just a tip. :)

    not to rush levelling up from 10K to 21K in short time. try to enjoy
    current distance and improve on it. based on my experience, i have lost
    count how many 3Ks and 5Ks ive done before going up to 10K. its true
    that it really depends on what our body dictates if we can go to next
    level already.

    question: kailangan ba ng ensayo before the run? what I usually do is I run during na race na. :( wala kasing time during weekdays. I started going to the gym now pero once in a blue moon lang.

    Would there be any effect sa health pag ganun? Magagalit ba mga joints ko eventualy ? o its is recommended to practice before the main event?

    Try nyo po magjog-in-place or magjumprope on weekdays. Stretching and strength training helps, too. Ideal talaga na at least 3x a week ang training runs, pero kung regular yung 10K mo every weekend, I guess kaya naman. Ibang usapan na yung 21K, though. Baka mahirapan ka kung kulang sa practice. I think your joints will be fine as long as you don't push them too hard. ;)

    Sarap basahin ibat ibang stories, alala ko tuloy first race ko almost 2 years ago. :)

    1st Race: Kenny's Urbanite 15k.. with my basketball shorts, gym top and trainer shoes.. Lol!

    You're welcome po. :) Kung gusto nyo pala ng alternative uphill workout sa bahay, pwede nyong gamitin ang stairs. Akyat-baba lang a few times until you feel the burn. Kung walang hagdan, hanap na lang ng kahit anong elevated platform then step up/step down. These help develop the glutes (butt) which is an important muscle group when running. :)

    unang takbo - PE - Running for Fitness.
    Nung nawala sa school, nagkatrabaho at nadagdagan ang timbang - nagtatakbo sa gym, nakikisawsaw sa route ng mga fun run. nung nasiraan ng sapatos, tumigil.
    bumili ng pantakbong shoes nung January 2011, nagtatakbo again, pero unang race ang AKTV july - 3K at 22:50, then next 3k nung sa ideal vision tapos 3k ulet sa rexona at 20++.
    wala pa akong karanasan sa BGC kasi mejo out of the way sa akin - puro MOA na venue lang kasi nasa MOA ang opis eh. pero sana - magkakaroon din ng karanasan sa BGC - ksai sabi ng prend ko - kakaibang karanasan daw. whew.
