I might run here if my classmate wouldn't be using his 21k race kit! Or if the on-site registration will still have those limited slots.
Anyone who will join the 2nd Avenue Earth Run Manila 2011???

Done with this race! I had a good run yesterday. :)
Maayos naman well, except for a few comments:
Walang markers along the race route so napapaisip ako habang tumatakbo kung ilang kilometers na ba. I had my gps pero too busy running to even get it out of my pocket.
Nalaman ko na pala na 5K na when they handed the blue laces.
Okay naman yung hydration as far as the 10K runners are concerned but i heard, ubusan daw ng water sa 21K which is bad talaga. importante pa nman yun especially on long distance running.
I was late for the gunstart siksikan kasi sa starting line at haba ng pila sa baggage counter. :(
pero all in all, i had a good run. :) i'm glad they included the ayala kalayaan flyover sa route ng 10K runners parang a first hand taste of what we should expect once na nag 21K na kami sa BHS route. very challenging. :)
it was not as good as the runrio organized races (walang makakatalo dun i think) pero for me, pasado na. :)
nameet ko rin yung isang male 21K runner here na nameet ko rin sa yamaha race. pareho kaming solo runner sa ayun, take turns kami sa picture taking. lol.
mabait din yun emcee. vey friendly.
all in all, it's a 7/10 for me.

my first time to run the Buendia Flyover and thanks to Lem's tip, i did the shembot uphill technique not to strain my legs. always works! so happy to have also ran with amazing friendz from my PF/ARC/RunnR Academy families. Team Alpha 1 - your team always RockS! guys you all deserve pats in the back!
many thanks also to the very many who bought their PF tech shirts! wear it proudly and if you can, in your next run events! Mr PF is always overwhelmed by the massive turnout. even during the Ateneo Run for Sparks @MOA, the shirts also sold like hotcakes, acdg to our PF runners. paging Ms Cheryl Castaneda - we miss you!
to 2nd Avenue and Ms Joanne Pecson - congrats in organizing this event with GreenPeace. a feedback of mine is the lack of distance markers which is always very helpful to all runners. so happy to see Ms. Jaymie Pizarro during Awards Ceremony.
to our banana sponsor - Allan07 - Thank You and finally after 20 yrs! hehe! you made a lot of our runner friends happy after the race. even the strangers, nakikain din, hehe!

//Earth Run 2011: i give it a 5. despite all the technical glitches, i can’t really complain because i chose to run in this event. nonetheless, there are a few things that the organizers need to know so they can do better in their future events. and also, to attract more running enthusiasts to join...
Thumbs Down:
-super late gunstart. the bad weather should not be a reason for that. (milo marathon started on time despite the heavy downpour..)
-we all caught off guard when we heard the gun start..aawtz..!
-as for the audio, i heard the lady at the registration booth said that they had problems with the electricity.it was due to heavy rains the night before.(at the 35th national milo, there was also a problem with the audio when the 42k runners were prepping up to set off).
-INTEGRITY issue. when i came to the registration booth, i asked for a small sized shirt. the lady who was attending to the onsite registrants informed me that there weren’t any small sized shirts anymore. that was about 4:20am. later on, i met one of my friends who also registered onsite (she came to the venue much later), and she got a small sized shirt.
-lack of marshals:
>in the baggage area
>along the 21k route
>in the water stations.
>this resulted to ‘lost’ runners. they unfortunately took the wrong way.our very good friend Bryan of Team Alpha1 was one of those ‘lost’ runners.
>some runners took the liberty of short-cutting the route. read: cheated
-lack of km markers
-lack of cups. there was one water stations where runners had to drink from the cover of the water gallons.
-the water station in front of mercato didn’t have any marshal. it was a self-service station..(or maybe, that was when we passed by that station. they may have assigned someone later on).
-runners with unregistered pacers (these runners should be disqualified from winning any prize). it’s another form of cheating.Thumbs Up:
-the staff came to the venue early. i arrived a quarter past 4 (to register). good thing there’s an onsite registration.
-use of paper cups
-staff who were picking up the cups on the road and putting them in black garbage bags
-greetings and cheers from marshals
-the release of unofficial result a day after.it’s good to know at least when you know there’s something wrong with your result, you can inform them immediately. it would be easier for them as well to make adjustments before they release the final results.
-new PR for me..ahahah..! thanks to ta1.martian for the pace..
-meeting,bonding and photo ops with PF/ARC/Runner Friends
-fun, fun, and more fun..!Posted 1 year ago # -
