Anne Curtis Finishes Strong in New York City Marathon

Last weekend was one of simultaneous running and triathlon races here in the Philippines. Meanwhile, halfway across the globe the New York City marathon concluded with our very own Anne Curtis completing the race at a Sub 5 pace.

In the New York Road Runners’ unofficial race results, Curtis crossed the 10km mark at 1:06:39 and proceeded to the 21Km mark at 2:25:51. She reached the finish line at 4:56:58. This is a mean feat for someone who was doing a marathon for the first time.

I did it! My very first marathon in NYC! What a bucket list moment ✔️ I can’t explain how fulfilling it is when you cross the finish line. It certainly isn’t easy but the whole experience is worth the physical pain. Each borough (there were 5) had a different feel, music and vibe. The spectators are there to cheer you on, give you power up high-fives and push you when you feel like you want to stop. To all the kababayans that were out there today to cheer me on… screaming and some even with posters, Maraming Salamat. ❤️ Nakakaiyak and yan po ang dahilan kung bakit halos hindi nawala ang ngiti ko. After my first… I would like to conquer more! 26.2 or 42.165 dedicated and inspired by the FILIPINO YOUTH and it’s through God’s grace, I FINISHED 🏅🏃🏻‍♀️🏅 @nycmarathon #unicefphils #NYCmarathANNEventure #ANNEventuresNYC #tcsnycmarathon #nycmarathon2016

Curtis’ triumphant 1st marathon is not a surprise to the Pinoy Fitness community. This fitspiration has been posting all her workout programs and fitness adventures on her social media accounts that a 42km run would seem easy as 1-2-3.

Congratulations, Anne, from your Pinoy Fitness family!
