Harriette Thompson at 92 has set a new world record last Sunday at the San Diego “Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon” on May 31, 2015 by becoming the oldest woman to finish a marathon with a time of 7:24:36, even faster then regular marathoners.

Harriette is also a cancer survivor, a pianist and a grandmother of 10, she mentioned that she did not begin running marathons until she was in her 70s, a true inspiration that it’s never too late to start running.

Hoping that all of us can still run a marathon at 92 and beyond. Share your thoughts below.

  1. This was in my hometown. I didn’t get a chance to meet this amazing woman. But I ran 16.2 miles for the Remix challenge and also got to meet San Diego native Meb Keflezighi at the expo last Friday.
