How long can you hold a plank? If 3 minutes sounds tough, try holding it for 5 hours and 15 seconds.

This is how long 57-year-old former marine George Hood was able to hold an abdominal plank at the Junior Seau Oceanside Pier Amphitheatre in California. The former marine broke the previous Guinness World Record by a Chinese police officer lasting for 4 hours and 26 minutes.

More than just setting a new Guinness World Record, the formal marine turned personal trainer and a group exercise instructor also made this event a fundraiser for the Semper Fi Fund, a charity that supports injured U.S. Service Members.

Hood now also serves as an inspiration that fitness and health knows no age.
