Swimmer dies in Olango Challenge Cebu

The 8th OLANGO CHALLENGE was the country’s first open water swimming competition held annually in Lapu-lapu City, Cebu, the event that promotes open water swimming as a sport and raises awareness on drowning was struck by irony as one of its participants lost his life during the competition.

More then 100 swimmers participated yesterday at the fund-raising event, the swimmer was identified as Eduardo Oriondo of Sitio Sangi, Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City, the 54-year-old was a master sergeant in the Philippine Air Force who participated in the 2K competitive category.
