Here in the Philippines, while everyone is tuning in to their TV sets at home and Pay-Per-View shows in cinemas, bars and restaurants, Pinoy Fitness was invited to be a part of “Battle of Greatness: Pacquiao vs. Mayweather – The Ultimate Viewing Experience” at the Solaire Grand Ballroom in Solaire Resort and Casino, Paranaque City.

The “Ultimate Viewing Experience” lived up to its hype as the viewers were treated to a real boxing atmosphere. The viewers were seated on a professional boxing set-up divided in three major sections. Four large high definition screens were available to watch the fight at the top of a professional boxing ring, which served as a stage for live round girls, dancers and raffle. Lucky attendees received a signed memorabilia from the Saranggani congressman himself, a Time Magazine Pacquiao Special issue and a Cleto Reyes boxing gloves, were given away in the raffle.

Sportscasters and TV personalities Anthony Suntay, Boyet Sison and Noel Zarate provided the fight commentary. Sassy Girls also graced the event with a dance number at the beginning of the scheduled boxing matches.

Solaire created an environment to make everyone feel that they are a part of the “Fight of the Century”, not just to air a live via satellite boxing match like what other establishments were offering. They set the bar higher in staging boxing events that assures viewers to get their money’s worth. Sprawling with high end casinos and resorts along the area, it really gave a Las Vegas vibe as close as it could be.

Despite the fight was won by the undefeated Mayweather via unanimous decision, Pacquiao fans cheered and jeered the whole 12 rounds as the Filipino being the aggressor. Pacquiao showed his brutal combinations the whole fight, but was denied by the superb ring generalship of a much taller Mayweather. With the dismay of the crowd, loud boos resounded on the whole venue after the fight, same as what happened in Las Vegas.

Tickets were available at 3000 pesos for VVIP with brunch buffet, 800 pesos for VIP and 500 pesos for general admission that was sold through Ticketworld.
