Not good for those who ran the marathon.

  2. Overall, ok naman ang event. Dami hydration and good thing they move back the start time. Sarap tumakbo ng madaling araw. First time marathoner. Finished at the top half

  5. somewhat disappointed for not getting the singlets, we missed the distirbution since my mom got sick, we even signed for the 3k since we really wanted to get the singlets though we are aiming for our first 21k. we tried sending emails through the secretariat twice, but there were no response and we even tried to claim it on the event day itself, but they never considered. truly disappointing on our end.

      • same here…i was on a vacation. I emailed the secretariat but didn’t get any reply. I was also able to talked to some of their staff during the event but they cannot answer me. So I didn’t bother to get my singlet anymore. sabi kasi ng mga kasama ko na pangit daw, hindi din magagamit sa pagtakbo dahil makapal :)

    • My race kit was not delivered either. I emailed them din days before the event but there was no reply. The night before the race, I stumbled upon their number sa FB comments so I gave it a shot to call them about my race kit. I was told I could claim it on the day of the race. Yeah, I was able to get it but I was irked because of the inconvenience of going there so early to pick it up. What was the delivery fee for, di ba? I ran the half mary and I felt bad for the 42k runners. That was truly unfair for them to get the same FS as the 21k runners.

    • ako din I wasn’t able to claim my singlet. pero nung event day after ko makuha finisher shirt ko may kaibigan ako na pinapunta ako sa booth ng secretariat at dun ko na naclaim yung singlet ko.

  6. That was my 1st time to conquer 21km race. Natapos ko in 3 hours!

Yung totoo? Hahaha

    • @jayson.. you are very lucky to finish the 21k without sleep and without training due to flu..lucky but what you did was dangerous…. anyhow, congrats..

    • me also nung 2013 adidas king of the road 2 hrs.alng tulog ko 1st time ko mag 10k pero nakaya ko rin with guts and determination we can do it.natgeo run was also one of my great runs i had.

  7. Epic Fail!

Seriously? Chichirya, tinapay at shampoo?

Epic Fail last year, mas Epic Fail this year…big disappointment.

    • Tapos pag meron ulit next year, sasali ulet? Paulet ulet? Anu to UNLI? Walang kadala dala? . AYSUS! Pilipino nga naman……..

  8. This is my first NatGeoRun, and man, I’m so disappointed, Una, madilim yung route. wala manlang bang enough marshall para ilawan yung daan, buti nalang may runners na may dalang headlamp. sana na-abisuhan niyo kami na madilim.

      • kasi nasa tao naman yan kung paano ntin idispose ang cups di inumin ntin habang andun tau sa hydration point ganun gnawa ko kaya di me ngkalat ng palstic cups or paper cups besides and disiplina nasa tao na yan.ang iba makati daw jersey di kung ayaw nyong isuot ibenta nyo nalang or ipmigay kesa naka imbak lang sa closet nyo better be charitable ibgay nyo nalang sa amin haha joke.but natego run was great its one of a kind international marathon suffice to say my money its worth it .health counts.just an opinion my dear.thx

How true is this?

  12. i observed some runners after drinking from water stations are purposely throwing their used cup on the road, sarap batukan!, when will you ever learn!!! shame on you!

  13. The organizers are not civilized to reply repeated texts and emails about my inquiries on lost racebib. Will definitely not register next year’s Natgeo Run and will not renew my Natgeo magazine subscription.

  14. Well, there. Sobra nga talaga siguro yung distance. Tama nga ang mga naririnig ko. It’s fine. I don’t have any complains naman. Ganun talaga. Wala namang event/race na perfect. Just train hard and race well. That’s what matters the most. Congrats po sa ating lahat!

  15. Natgeo run is my very first half marathon. I’m happy I finished the run. I have also my gps while running.

Running Photographers posted two albums in Facebook already.

  19. True runner doesn’t complain about simple issues such as loot bag, singlet, shirt, and the like because he knows nothing compares to the sacrifices and hard work he does during training and running.
True runner knows the idea that joining a running event will not be for his convenient.
True runner knows where the proceeds go and he is not expecting anything in return.
True runner is patient about anything and what is important for him is to always finish the race and have a self fulfillment.

    • Unfortunately, I guess only 10% or less are what you can call “true runner” in your definition. The other 90% are there for various reasons.

Complains that are valid are good indication for the organizers to do their job and for the runners to evaluate them as well.

As mentioned above “Remember, your comments are very important to the organizers, it will surely help improve the race next year..”

Again, as long as the complain is valid.

    • Huwag nlng siguro tangkilikin para walang reklamo…hindi rin kasi biro ang 1.5k na reg. kung hindi satisfying ang kapalit (you know what I mean). True runner man o hindi (if there such thing) we are entitled to say something even though its bad. Pero ito yung chance na malaman ang kakulangan in both parties. No complain means perfect at all. Kaso there is no perfect and this event is very far away to become one. I share the sentiments thinking to put myself on their shoes. So sana dapat matuto na ang runners and organizer nito if they tend to do it again.

    • I KNOW! Who cares about the singlet or the loot bag or the finisher’s shirt? I came there to run.

Singlet – the material was too thick anyway. Whoever didn’t get their singlet, you didn’t miss much.

Finisher’s shirt – the material was also toooooo thick. You wouldn’t wear it period.

      Loot bag – who cares?

  20. My name is not on the list today but it was there yesterday… Ano po kaya nangyari? Runners with official time 5:31 – 6:00 something are missing on the list. What happened?

  21. For those complaining about the race… as advertised on television, the proceeds of the race will go to Filipino fishermen… bibili daw ng bangka.. this is my second marathon, l also have some concerns but despite all those it can not surpass the happiness once l reached the finish line. We should be thankful merong finisher shirt kasi po ang Subic International Marathon nung January WALA! Sometimes we complain about things without realizing our own part… There are some concerns na hindi naman po dapat.kasi nasa info nila iyon… Yes, over all this event could still be improved if they will be given chance by the runners. Cheer up guyz! It is a great day! God bless!

    • runner101… ok lang naman yung complain ng iba. I’ve been running for almost 4 years now and this was my second sa NatGeo…it’s always fulfilling on my part every time I crossed the finish line. However, since this is also considered a “fun” run for our brother and sisters in running, you cannot expect everybody to feel the way how you felt.

  22. This was my first 10K run and I rate the event a 3 out of 10. The positive side was there plenty of hydration stations and marshals. Areas to be improved on: Release of race kit should coincide with registration. Runners should be able to choose shirt size during registration and may claim it another day. There was a long queue on Day 1 because shirt sizes were not guaranteed. Runners had to go back and try their luck some other day to secure their correct shirt sizes. Venue was so cramped and fell short of expectation for the NATGEO brand. Road was not properly lit, had road blocks, and not adequately cordoned off from motorists. Marshals should be courteous to runners at all times. And finally, there were no race results for 3k/5k/10K. It was good that I had my GPS watch to record my run. I strongly suggest engaging RUNRIO for your race next year. My experience with races organized by Runrio had perfect because there was always adequate planning and effective execution with Coach Rio tightly monitoring the event.

It’s my second time to join the Natgeo run & 1st time to run for 10k.

Yup! I highly agree kung Runrio na ang organizer ng event, except for the venue ng We Run Manila in Marikina last December. =)

  23. Route was challenging, and personally I was satisfied with my run.
Complaints: insufficient portalets and my bro’s results did not appear on the results page (he ran 21K).

I guess we’re responsible for our own nutrition—gels, etc. so di ko na isasama yung walang bananas for 21K. Madilim ang ibang part ng route, pero sige lesson learned na rin since the gun times for 21K and 42K were very early. A very forgiving review for an event with a bad reputation. :P

Yun Lang.

  25. Had my first 21k with NatGeo last year. Now i did my first 42k also with you. Disappointed last year for not getting my race results because for some reason I wasn’t on your list. Disappointed this year for some of the reasons already mentioned (impossible access to anyone from the event organizer, mindless imprint on the marathon distance FS…). Regardless of how I was dead-tired and worn out, I felt happy running the race being well aware that I signed up for a good cause. However, complaints such as these can be a complete turn off for a lot of people who would really want to stand beside your advocacy. I think the organizer needs some re-organization to look into the real issues such that there won’t be any repeats in the next call-up. Thank you for the monumental experience as I might just be considering other races from here on (like RU…hehe). I still love my singlet last year though. This year’s wasn’t any good. Good luck with your plans!

  26. Totally not worth what I paid for, yeah I may just ran for 3k but we still shelled out cash. If I may compare, RUNRIO handling is better. They may be a bit expensive but they haven’t been a disappointment to me so far.

  27. Whoever made the brilliant decision to save on cost and have the finisher shirt printed as 21K/42K shows such a high level of human intelligence, and should be sent to outer space to prove there is intelligent life outside planet earth.

  28. based on the comments that i have read, buti na lang d kami nakahabol o abot sa registration, kala ko kasi mag kakaroon ng improvement yung pag organize pero wala din pala.

  29. Funrun- don’t expect too much. It’s for a cause. This is why lots of race organizers are jumping on the running craze. My family has already scaled down on these “fun runs” and just run to our hearts content on the safe streets of metro Manila. Pati sa loob ng aguinaldo libre. May pang breakfast pa kaming lahat pagkatapos. To each his own.

  30. again so many complaints, pero sali naman ng sali-
thought that the singlet and finisher was nice- di pala.at least i joined the Run Tahanan at QMC- Commonwealth – enjoy pa almost a ‘serene’ run-
Good cause ba talaga iyan Nat Geo- sige nga ask the organizers iyon breakdown ng expenses sa run na ito- you might be surprised how much was given to the fishermen?
iyon nice finisher shirt ay iyon sa 7-11 and the pinoy fitness sub 1,

  33. My Negative comments does not stop me from choosing to go whichever running event I want. A complaint serves both sides, for organizers to see their shortcomings in the opinions of the participants for their improvement and for the people to know how these events are handled by different organizers. Its not like all has a complaint in every event.

  34. Been into marathons and ultramarathons since 2012 and, relatively speaking, I find this race and how it was organize to be quite below par. There are a few things I feel I should air; 1. The route was boring and unsafe, having to do 2 loops and having to pass by a lot of unlighted areas. 2. Until now, I can’t find pictures of runners, much less mine

    • The route was not boring, in fact one of the hardest, lots of uphill. Unsafe? Very unsafe, lots of unlighted areas. Finisher shirt? First time ive seen shared full and half marathon shirts, so genius, rookie organizer would not even think of doing this, common sense please, 1.5K versus 900 pesos, come on!

  35. I Agree with Mam Christina del mundo. I joined lots of races lately and sometimes nakakaboring na din sumali. Negative and Positive feedbacks are not worth it kung halos every year na nagoorganize ng ganitong running events eh madami pa din nagpapaloko at sumasali. Even Run United. Same routine pag merong event. Im much more excited to run on my own where I can have alone time, at anywhere I roam.

    • races could never be boring because of the challenge and competition against yourself and against runners- that is what a tru blue runner is ( kahit na race bandit)

  36. I recommend only MILO marathon…napaka challenging ng qualifying time or even yun cut-off time. mura pa reg fee at napaka sarap ng pakiramdam sa finish line pag na beat mo ang cut-off time…matindihang practice ang kailanag para ma beat cut-off time or qualifying time. so kahit practice run hindi boring kasi you need to focus dun sa cut-off time. as a serious runner…i recommend to aim for MILO half or full marathon qualifying time.

  37. Nakasali na ako both not so familiar races and those na tinatangkilik ng masa and i would say na this one is poorly executed. I will give it 3 out of 10.
They charged fairly high for the event pero kulang na kulang ang amenities nila. Yes for donation purposes, pero for that much? Wow naman.
Singlets are very limited(partida on the day of release puntq na agad ako)
Sa flyover kayo tatakbo with no proper lighting and precuationary measures
    No poryalet

  38. Respect each other’s complain na lang. In my opinion, may karapatan mag-reklamo lahat ng runners kasi they spent money for this run. :)
