  1. dun sa mga nagbabalak sumali d2. review nyo muna un result last year. di biro ang ruta at maraming di magandang experience. Though I manage to finished the race within cut off time but I know/experience their lapses.

  2. Please be reminded that this is a trail run guys. Madami nabigo noong nakaraang taon. Tsktsk.

  3. Eto yung run na nagpa DNF sakin last year! Kung challenge ang hanap mo this is the race for you. Ako check check muna kung saan ang ruta nila this year and dapat paghandaan talaga. :)

  6. 2013 salomon
mountain trail/ concrete road/ seashore yung ruta..

kahit nga yung di tumakbo may naiuwing 24km medal e..

  7. Gamit na gamit ko yung Salomon visor freebie last 2012 til now. I hope high quality visor uli wag na yun armband pouch. And some improvement sa Salomon raceshirt design please.

  9. The danger here is that this event “X-trail” is well publicized because of its branding. Even the casual and new runners are enticed to join, particularly the 24k.

This is one of the most challenging trail-run event in the country. Many will agree specially those who joined last year.

DNF ako dito 7km to finish because one big reason, to save literally, (I’ll tell my story next post). The trail was merciless and the heat was unforgiving that even some experienced runners gave up.

We did TNF50k the same year, I can say na mas pamatay ang hirap nito considering it’s just 24k, it terms of elevations, heat and the inadequate water stations.

It is important that runners are aware of the difference between road and trial runs and the event that they are joining. It could cost you your life. Gauge yourself first.

  10. Sir why no new updates sa blog nyo? will you join TNF100 again this year? yung tips nyo from last year’s TNF are very helpful sana this year meron din.

  11. haha..hayaan nyo maexperience nila….right nman nila sumali ehh..wala nman nakalagay na bawal sumali ang road runner…kmbaga hindi nman nila malalaman ung hirap kng hindi nila maeexperience..let them experience the trails then tska na lang nila irerespeto ito..:)

      • yup..yung magbigay ng briefing with trail running ok yun malaking tulong yun sa mga interesado sa trail run..pero yung kng ano2 pang cnsbe..niyayabangan pa ung ibang runner grabe naman un..oo meron ng mga bihasa sa trail run dito..pero iguide n lang sana yung iba wag n lang yabangan.. wala nmang exemption dito mapa 21k’er or marathoner..for as long as you have the guts to face the unknown challenge dun mo pa lang mapapatunayan ang essence ng pagiging atleta… kaya nga me training and preparation ehh pra ready katawan mo sa intense activity..:)

Cheers for a healthy and active lifestyle!:)

    • tama ka jan dets! respect d trails depending on elevation gain, loss weather etc. pag natapos mo yan or dnf, dun mo marealize how to respect and train well when it comes to mountain altitude running.

  14. I did Xtrail first and I must admit underestimated the route. It was difficult and technical. I finished though 40 minutes beyond cut-off. I joined TNF100 afterwards, the shorter distance of 50K. It wasn’t that technical compared to Salomon, but equally challenging considering the distance. The assault to Mt. Cabuyao and Mt. Sto. Tomas zapped all my energy.

Nevertheless, both were happy endings! See you.

  15. this is NOT the race for the babies who complains a lot
weakness can be accepted, but those with too much excuses and alibis are not qualified for this
if you’re expecting perfection, then I suggest you back out.
when it comes to the management… well as of what I’ve experienced last year… yes, you need to be MORE aware and accurate when it comes to medals, routes, and other logistics concerns

  16. malamig ang takbo ng TNF kasi bagiuo, ang salomon xtrail nmn maiinit kasi sa batangas gaganapin kasagsagan ng init un april, i tried TNF last year 22k masarap kasi malamig. ewan ko lng dito sa xtrail basta Godbless nlng satin lahat hahaha. stay healthy

  17. solo runner here from Paranaque. I’ll be bringing my car and and can accommodate 3 more pax . chip in na lang sa gas and toll. call/text me na lang for details 0925.888.2815 thanks. btw male runner ako :)

  18. registered for 24km, would be my first time.. and as I read and understand based on the comments from last year’s participants mahirap daw ang 24km route, I’m welcoming the challenge.. run happy! :)

  19. Lahat kayo puro negative.be a positive vibes kayo!wag kayo mag paniwala sa mga yan.basta ok ung training nyo.you can do it!!!pinangungunahan lang kayo ng takot ng mga yan.kung sila nga kinaya tayo pa kaya.may puso mananakbo tayo!sila wala!puso !!!puso!!!puso!!!

  20. yang mga nangddown na yan sila ang mahihina…:) mas capable ka na maconquer to…if you’re willing to take the challenge, if you want adventure, and if you have the nerves to conquer this one then register!this is a free country!no one tells us what to do…:)

  21. Subok lang ng subok! Walang pakikinggan at paniniwalaan. Sarili mo lang ang kalaban mo. Matapos man o hindi, ma-injure man o hindi, walang nakakaalam. Ang buhay ay binubuo ng mga karanasan. Hehe

  23. My opinion, you must really take this run seriously. Yes It’s open for everyone, the more the happier the organizer will be. I would not say that if you’re a beginner you can’t join (24K above). But I would suggest based from my personal experiences (trail running) that it is better to try it gradually shorter to longer distance to gauge yourself if you’re comfortable with it or not.

There were several times I’ve met people new to trail running but experienced road runners and some are regular marathoners, their initial reaction were “Ibang iba sa road ang hirap nito to” in that context.

I’m one of those persons who rescued a veteran runner along the trail 7KM to finish line while suffering an intense cramp. It was a LIFE and DEATH situation. I posted the story on SalomomPH FB page the one that got deleted for whatever reason… I believe some people here remember that incident and expressed their sympathies and concerns unlike the INSENSITIVE organizer as if nothing happened not even a word from them.

The runner suffered from dehydration, salt-depletion got unconscious and few minutes more he’ll be dead if none of us helped him according to one of the rescuer runner which also happens to be a Doctor. Most agreed because of the inadequate water station, killer elevations and intense heat. I think more-than half of the 24k runners did not finished the run on time and most DNF at all. One problem would be pushing too hard exceeding your limitation, ka hiyanan na yan or Kaya ko ito, sayang yung medal, finisher shirt etc. DNF is also “Do nothing Foolish”…

I will try to post the story in a blog.

Don’t take it bad if there are people are cautious about this run they are not just exaggerating. It was really that technical and draining (do heat training as-well if your persistent). Knowing the same venue.

Learn to take advises. It’s a good thing na maraming nag share ng experiences nila dito for the benefit of the new runners.

The same reason why some running events require a qualification proof before you can join their Race specially for trail-runs with the likes of CIHM and others. I’m just wondering why Salomon failed to implement that for the higher categories. Knowing the difficulty of the trail and the incident happened last year.

Of-course everyone still can join, free country nga naman, Just remember when to DNF for your safety. Sama nyo na yung heat training, lubhang napaka init sa lugar na yan and invest on a good hydration system. Konti lang mga water stations sa mga trail-runs because of logistics.

    DNF….

    -Boyzilla

    • wow master boyzilla hulog ka pala ng diyos! talong talo mo pa volunteers and military men fighting for other people’s lives. you saved one and people never stopped hearing the end of it.

we get the point already! as is with every run, be it on a road or on trails, proper preparation is a must. but please enough of this “advises” to promote your blog. jeez, and your heroism! we should paint edsa red blue and yellow in your honor then.

  25. I believe that runners experiences are diverse and highly individual . However, it was a bit unusual and unfortunate for me in this race. My main concern though is to advocate on what the organizers can do to equally ensure the safety of runners and not on ill-preparation or underestimation of the race.
I may not be an elite runner, but I’ve made effort in training for the race. However, accidents do happen and this is where the organizers should address ( medics, first aid, enough water).

Have safe runs fellow runners… :)
Please read my story in the blog I will be posting. Thank you.
