This is the first of the Asian Mountain Race Circuit along with the Fuji Mountain Race and Mt. Kinabalu International Climbathon.

This is a 35.3-km out-and-back race, starting from the Barangay Hall of Tinongdan (779 masl) in the Municipality of Itogon, Province of Benguet. The first 1.7km is a downhill run on paved road to the start of the trail (499 masl). From this point, the route to the summit is mostly uphill with a total elevation gain of 1858 meters, and loss of 195 meters. The route will showcase magnificent views of surrounding mountains, including portions of Binga and Ambuklao dams as far away as Pangasinan. The turnaround point will be at the summit of Mt Ugo (2162 masl). The 16.4-km route from the summit to the finish is a mirror image of the route to the summit, and concludes with a 1.7-km (280m vertically) ascent to the finish line at the hall of Barangay Tinongdan.

Trophies and valuable outdoors prizes will be awarded to the top 3 overall winners in both the male and female categories.

Medals and valuable prizes will be awarded to the top 3 runners, male & female in the 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and above age groups.

  1. nakatakbo ako sa 1st edition nito nung 2012. Maganda at alagang alaga ang mga runners. May shuttle dati galing baguio city papuntang race start, pre race dinner, breakfast bago mag race at lunch after race.

This is the hardest 35km run I’ve ever had and the last 1.7km is the worst. I was prepared for a 5 hour run but it took me more than 7 to reach the summit and back.

While I love trails, sky running is a different beast altogether.

    • is there any other easy way to register? nag send na ako ng personal details ko sa [email protected] at nagdeposit na rin ako sa BPI and send the photocopy. hindi pa pala ako registered kahit ginawa ko yun.

      • Hi Rimberto,

I think if you have done all of the things mentioned above, you should already be registered. If you have not gotten a confirmation email, please forward the email you sent to [email protected] to [email protected] so we can send you one.

        Apologies for the inconvenience.

        thank you,
        JC

  2. I haven’t been to Mt. Ugo. I’m not a fast runner and certainly not the competing type. But I love the mountains. It’s the patent lack of noise (as opposed to road races of BGC and MOA) and the cold wind that keeps me coming back.

    See you there!

  3. Relaxing sa mata nito at sa baga at spirit…Away from the polluted metro manila…Ample time to reflect also while running, the view also offers us the chance to forget the feeling of tiredness…I will definitely join this race…See you…Ipon mode starting today…ahehehehe…

  4. so I arrive in Baguio city…. then to make it to the race, how do I get to Itogon? Will the starting line be easily found or do I have to ask around? My main concern is, “How do I get to the starting point?” I am just taking the bus up.

    • Hi Peaches! There’s a free shuttle ride from DOT-CAR in Baguio City (near Victory Bus station) to Itogon (start line). You can also ride the free shuttle from Itogon going back to Baguio after the race.
