  1. First full marathon with unofficial time of 4:29:09. Great run! Congratulations RunRio for a succesful Philippine Marathon. Completed my 2013 Trilogy. Cheers!

  2. Great run! great organized event and a lot of booth to boot! I’ll be taking the 21k on next year’s RUPM. Congrats to runrio!, o basta wala ng pick your racekit on a different date ha!, just maintain the online registration and delivery, mas marami pang sasali sa mga rio events!

  3. Had a great 21k run with an unofficial time of 2:15:45. A new PR by 5mins from my previous 21k milo run. 4am start was just perfect. Di inabot ng init at least in my case. Thanks Runrio and Unilab for a job well done. Praise god no injuries for me.

  4. Well-organized event but I wouldn’t call it perfect.

First, I arrived at MOA at 2 am to ride the shuttle bus to the starting line at BGC. The queue was already long and there was a long line of runners ahead and behind me. At around 2:15, a bus arrived but it was not enough to empty the queue. At around 2:30 three buses arrived and I was able to board the last bus and get a seat but there were still a number of people who weren’t able to board. I arrived at the starting line with just 5 minutes to go. I wonder if the people behind me were able to reach the starting line on time. There should be more buses and it should be arriving with a shorter interval.

Second, and this one kinda pissed me off, there was another run going on in MOA! I think it was some school activity. And they were causing an annoying bottleneck in one of the hydration stations because they were getting the Gatorade and the bananas! The marshals were trying their best to restore order but were overwhelmed by the sheer number of student runners.

But at least the essentials were there—plenty of well-stocked hydration stations, lots of medical and emergency personnel, well-placed banners showing the directions.

  5. As always it was a very organized run. I’m impressed that there were enough signages with motivational quotes. I’m disappointed that runner dont know how to dispose of their cups after hydration. It was my first 10k run and I”m glad it was RUPM!

  6. Good job unilab:) and the other sponsors,, I enjoyed my 10km,, pero mad maeenjoy ko ang 21km cguro if were able to register ahead,, naubusan, sayang :)

  7. i finished 42K if i rate runrio 1-5 for its 5 konting adjustments nlng regarding sa route medyo masama kalsada going coastal mall marami nasasaktan tapos sana don me mga medics kasi dami na nga cramps 2 nlng medics naubusan pa ng ointment…then while there are still running to the finish line medyo delay nman program para pagdating ng iba medyo mataas pa rin ang morale….yun lng over all the best running organizer pa rin! mabuhay

  8. I appreciate the race Marshall’s and medics who were part of this event. Salamat po!
i got my money’s worth.

    • I thought the same because of the long lines sa portalets.

  10. What was the total distance covered for the 21k? Perhaps my readings were off? It registered 22km.

I agree with Mon Solo na kainis yung mga tumakbo na students doon sa Tanglaw Run. They were “mobbing” the gatorade and bananas sa hydration stations towards Aseana. Even the hydration station near Arena. In fairness, hydration stations were sufficient, pero kulang yata sa marshalls.

  13. Once again Runrio delivered by giving our moneys worth. Okay ang flip flops as freebies for 42k runners, makahinga man lang ang aming pagod at paltos na mga paa.

  14. another 21K experience , enjoying my heart on the road, my legs on on ground…my soul and sole with Jesus in His strength!

  15. mas gusto ko ung route ng 42k ng RUPM kesa sa 37th Milo… maybe because nagstart cya sa BGC… anyways congrats to all Road Warriors and Foot Soldiers today who finishes their race in any possible means, RUN, WALK, CRAWL…. ^_^

    Cheers!!!

  16. Hi Po –

I just brought a camera for my brother, pero i took shots na rin for those runners na hindi ko nman talaga kilala. Please visit the link below, you might find yourself there.

  17. 1st time sumama sa ganito bitin yung 10k kaso kainis umuwi ako kagad after ng run nakalimutan ko mag pa analyze di ko tuloy nakita kung pang ilan ako :(

    • Dont worry. yung race analysis online sya. just wait for a few days may results and mas in depth analysis kung pang ilan ka compared to age, gender and over all winner in your category. all you need is your bib number. hintay hintay lang.

  18. Finished my first full marathon in 6hrs 58 mins(unofficial).. Walang training, dinaan ko na lang sa lakas ng loob.. i therefore conclude, dapat talaga pinaghahandaan ang mga long runs especially marathons.. Next year I’ll be back PREPARED :)

    • wait for the race analysis online, lahat ng details ng run mo nandun, pati mga photoshots mo along the route.

nice run bro, until next time

  19. Thanks Runrio for a well organized race..sayang qualified pala ako sa gatorade recovery lounge kaya lang late na email notification dumating.

  20. Problem ko din dati ‘to sir, pero this time I really studied the route so I may choose the best “lines”. My GPS registered a little below 21K — probably because along Macapagal, I ran close to the left side on my way back to MoA and it was shorter than the other side. (Sorry sa mga nakasalubong ko btw)
Next time wag kayo tatakbo sa gitna ng roads, always run near the gutter closest to the curves. That’s how race distances are measured. And also wag masyado pagewang-gewang. I personally ask the people politely na makikiraan ako sa sides nila.

Kaasar nga yung mga nasa Tanglaw Run. I actually saw coach Rio on his bike surveying the situation along Macapagal. Siguro may nagreport nung problem. Di ko na nakita how they responded to the problem though.

    • I usually ran sa gitna bro para pantay ang surface, prolong running sa uneven surface will cause injury (usually ITBS),
it’s a matter of GPS reading or injury prevention.

      Congrats bro, until next run!

  21. my first marathon…despite getting injured (ITB) sa kalagitnaan ng run e natapos ko din..i’d already thought of quitting pero nakita ko me mga injured din, despite paika-ika nalang sa pagtakbo at ngumingiwi na e tinapos pa rin nila (namin) hahaha..thank god despite the pain e masaya pa rin kasi natapos ko yung first marathon ko..congrats to all!!!!

  22. Enjoyed the race… My first 21K is RU1(2013), My first 32k is RU2(2013) and my first 42K is RUPM(2013)…. thanks… galing nyo mag organize… nakakabawas ng kaba sa mga first timers…. congrats to all participants, sponsors and organizer…

  23. This is my RU year… I’ve been to many different run events in different parts of the country and outside the country as well, but never to RU runs before this year and I intended to start and finish the RU leg within this year, and so I did! My 1st RU Run…21K(RU1). My 2nd RU Run…32K(RU2). My 3rd RU run… and first full marathon…42K(RUPM). Now I can set my goals to more full marathons and God willing, the ultra-marathons! Thank you RU for a very good year!

      • if you’re asking about loyalty shirt (just like last year), hindi po runrio ang may bigay nun — unilab active health po (na sa tingin ko e wala this time)…. as for the runrio awards night for those who finished 21-32-42, siguro po around february or march or april ulit nila gagawin yun….

  24. Mother Russia ung mga nasa tanglaw Run. Naparasite ung isang hydration station. hehe… Over all it was a great and well organized RUN.
Last 2008 lang daw sya nagstart magtrain for competition… He also joins international running events. Nasa myanmar daw sya last time. wew. Nahiya tuloy ako at 5:43 time ko. Haha… Once in lifetime chance na makatabi ang isang great runner sa bus… PUSO!

  25. My 2nd 21KM!!! Was actually praising and worshipping Jesus during the race, thanks to Hillsong for producing electro-pop and rock christian music ! =] see you next time guys …

    • Kaya pala. Ako i suffered din ng kunting cramps pagdating doon, yong last 4 kilometer na ng 21k. Yong sa Milo naman, nag fly over ang route kaya maganda ang route kaso you have to pass 4 x sa fly over. Pero ok na din

  26. Best run so far. Goal achieved! Beaten my PR! Thanks Runrio!!! see you on the 20th on Rexona!!! Sana walang maging problema sa claiming ng kit dito…. i wish!

  27. tama yan! don’t quit kapag alam mung may ibubuga ka pa. isipin mu na lang yung may wheelchair/bike, isipin mu yung nagtutulak nun, for sure natapos nya rin yung race.

  28. Great run! :)

  29. Still hoping to find pictures of me. Hirap sa mabagal tumakbo. By the time na dumaan ka, either pagod na or puno na storage ng mga cameramen

  30. I’m new to garmin connect. Anyone here who knows how to edit the distance from miles to kilometers? I’m using fr610. Although I’ve set its system to kilometers, but when i upload it to garmin connect, it becomes miles again. Thanks!

    • Hi Vhin. You can toggle the settings on the webpage of garmin connect and set the display preference so the data will show kilometers. Trust this helps!

  31. Runrio 2013 Trilogy series Completed
    my 2nd 21k run – RU1
my 1st 42k run – RUPM (this time i learned from my 32k exp, i run wisely, not too much effort at start, “stop-rest-strech and pahid liniment” kahit may cramps naka jog-run padin hanggang finish line)

very well hydrated ksi ang runners and maraming supply ang bananas, and dami rin medic..

  32. The race is well-organized with aid stations and plenty of stocked hydration station, marami rin marshall’s, maayos at nasa tama din ang pagkakalagay ng mga signages. However, my main concern is better organization and lining of portable toilet (PORTALETS) at the start and first few miles and also lack of portable toilet (PORTALETS) along the course.

This is something which can and should be prevented by actual monitoring the portable toilet (PORTALET) and supplying more facilities, especially in a big event like this.

  33. hehehe… my 1st run un RUPM.
Next year, im going to complete all the leg… hehehe…
    wala akong picture… huhuhu… :)

  34. I hope fellow runners learn to throw cups (even banana peels!) in the provided trash cans/bags. It won’t add too much time to whatever PR we are trying to achieve!

  37. Successfully completed my 1st ever full marathon run without any injury, minor leg pain which is normal for the 1st timer like me..hehehehe congrats to all 42k finisher.

Dun sa roxas blvd near US embassy, I’ve waited for 3 minutes at pag labas eh mga tambay dun ang gumagamit. Walang bantay sa portalet in that area.

  40. Medyo dissapointed with the result hindi na track yung 35k run ko, debut run ko to for 42k, then pa check naman about this please..

for 42k hindi na track ng maayos yung @35.k pinaghirapan ko yung race as in walang practice due to heavy rains.. :(
