  1. @ Jules28,

    Parehong accurate, depende sa usage.

Gun time refers to the ‘tip-off’ ng run, whether Wave A ka or Wave F. (Pag Wave F ka, start na ang time mo kaagad pag simula ng Wave A.)

Chip time refers to your ‘physical’ start, meaning pag-apak or pagdaan mo sa sensor platform, dun pa lang simula ng timer mo hanggang matapos ka sa finish line.

Kaya mapapansin mo na palagi mas mataas/matagal ang gun time kesa chip time ng isang runner. =)

  2. go… sabihin nyo sa international running community yang mga hinaing nyo regarding chip time and guntime. Peace :p

  3. To: Bugsy10kRunner

Kaya nga may tinatawag na trainings prior to the main event para alam mo na what are you are capable of doing.

Saka even before the event ang daming tips ni Sir Ton Concepcion regarding bring your own water bottles for safety.

  4. Fantastic, for a first-timer, just finishing the run is a big achievement.A very Helpful first aider by the name of andrew gave me a stretching even if I did not ask for it. Thanks Andrew.Met my Friends Spongebob and Val, made some new friends like Kent also a first timer like me in the 42 K category. Thanks and Good Job for the organizers of Condura Run.

  5. By the Way, where are the Kenyans? While running I overheard this guy talking out loud. A kenyan was trying to buy his ticket for 3,000 K plus a mizuno shoes. Guess they had other engagement abroad and where late in registering.

ANO BA GUSTO NIYONG TAKBO???? KAINIS LANG!! Mag training na lang kayo kung ganyan!

  7. Re chip time and gun time, hindi daw magiging ‘race’ ang event, kundi magiging ‘time trial’ kung chip time ang gagamitin as official ranking. ;)

Siguro puwede ko explain ng ganito, assuming chip time ang official time:

Meron Wave A hanggang Wave F. Nasa Wave F ako dahil late registration ako.

Point is, ‘race’ nga siya. Unahan diba.

I placed 166th overall out of 3442 runners in the pikermi event. Top 5%! But I am not exactly very happy kasi I know na Wave A kasi ako kaya lang mataas ang ranking ko. Pero actually, I’m not a fast runner to worry about it (gun time). Kaya chip time lang is all I care about. But just the same, I always aim to become faster every race na sinasalihan ko.

CONGRATULATIONS to all who participated in this event. I had a blast. The best ang atmosphere! See you all next year!

  8. great race! though i was hoping they placed 100 plus on an earlier mark or alternate siya bawat water station.. sa mga naka experience ng kakaibang feeling sa 100plus, tip lang.. try researching sa future events what sports drink they will offer then try drinking it sa practice run so you can adjust =) gun time = podium/ranking chip time = your personal record. =)

  9. Thanks Condura for a very organized event. I will definitely run next year.

    @angel.d.saint, thanks for sharing.

  10. Sufficient hydration, if you felt like they’re few and far in between…there’s something wrong with your expectations and probably training. I k kw there’s clamor for finisher’s shirts, but this is a run for a good cause…yung pambili ng tshirt ok na sa Mangroves mapunta.

  11. I agree with Angel.d.saint, but to satisfy your urges, export the PDF file as XLS and sort based on Gun time. Un lng po, peace!

  12. From Condura Skyway Marathon FB page:

“Good morning, Runners! Are you all recovered? We will be posting the race results by chip time within the day. Please bear with us and thank you for your understanding.”

ipagmamalaki pa ata yung ranking kaya gusto chiptime.

  15. downed by flu,on the am of feb 2,thnx paracetamol, recovered on time, konting rest pa b4 midnight, then go,glad finisher p rin and still conquered the skyway despite those body pains, well organized event,congrats..

  16. @vicoy (comment#91)

  17. for 42km route, bananas and 100plus were given after 21km mark. these should be given earlier. ubos na ung gatorade ko sa hyrdation belt, tubig parin ung binibigay. well, those are just in my opinion and only my negative points.. overall, a very good race. this will be my annual marathon event. just a suggestion, replace 100plus with other non carbonated sports drinks (i know 100plus is a major sponsor of condura). Have heard a lot of runners burping a few meters after the hydration station =D

Opinyon nila ‘yun, at entitled sila doon.

  23. A lot of “FIRST” happened on this date: Feb 03, 2013….

It is my first Skyway Run..ever!
    It’s my first 42K Run!
It’s my first marathon that I almost entirely pray to God to finish the whole marathon without getting injured.
And I even tagged this marathon as “42 at 32″… Next year, it would be “42 at 33” na!

Very organized event. Di nagkulang sa hydration station at portalest which is two of the most important necessities.

KUDOS to the whole team! HINDI NASAYANG ANG BINAYAD KO.

Until my Second Full Mary… I’ll see you all!

  24. @Jules28 no worries.. basta kung masaya ka sa time mo ok na yun.. Gun Time talaga ang official time. Pero kasi ako chip time lang pinapakialam ko kasi yun yung personal time ko nga. :)

Live.Love.Run.. Peace po sa inyong lahat!

    Picture pleeeeease! :)

    peace tayo kapwa mananalbo!

  26. getting better each year! i ran my first half mary and it felt great kahit na masakit pa rin up to last night ang thighs ko, hehehe. small price to pay.

mas ok than last year. my gripe last year (10K) was maraming excited sa gun start, then pag dating sa ramp biglang puro naglalakad wala kang madaanan. this year lahat ng kasabay ko tumatakbo paakyat ng ramp.

God willing i’ll do my first marathon with condura next year. No excuses, 1 year to prepare.

  27. enjoy the RUN.. CHIP TIME at GUN TIME.. figures lang yan… ang mahalaga natapos natin ng maayos at safe ang RUN na ito….. My 1st Half Mary….. nameet ko yung target ko… official time base on chip time 2:01:16 ata…. tnx sa CONDURA

  28. The best! and to my idol,, Runner 52113,alternated tailed and overtook her for 5km,, but she was way too fast for me.. maybe next time. :) Till next race

  29. The Official winner in any race is the one who crosses the finish Line first –whether you start at the beginning or back of the pack( as in running)/peloton(as in cycling)/grid (as in F1). So If you are targeting to win or a podium finish, you should position yourself at the very front of the starting line. In this case, you also have to register early so you get positioned in Wave A. Unless the race official (on race day) will willingly honor your claim when you state that Im competing/elite & they just put you in front willingly.

If you review results of other reputable races (well at least those Ive seen previously), the ranking is based on Chip time. This is published post race. Thousands of runners running the SAME course, the SAME experiment. That is just it afterall. Chip time is therefore used to rank everyone as it is more meaningful in the overall picture.

As such, it is possible for you to register the fastest chip time but not be the winner. On the contrary, you cannot be the Winner if you dont cross the finish line first among others — because the Official Winner is just the one that crosses the line the first.

Takenote: I did not even have to explain gun time because it has no meaning other than to the person who won 1st place (& got the money & accolade).

    Good day to all.

  30. I sorted the 21K and 42K race results according to Chip Time. If you want a copy of the Excel file text your email address to 0917-5023149. Or maybe PF can upload it. Thanks and CONGRATULATIONS to all finishers.

  31. Sa mga kapwa ko 42k finshers, saan daw po nka upload yung finisher’s solo pics n kinuha ng mga lady photographers right before claiming the 42 k finsher’s kit? katabi lang po ng 42k finsher’s kit tent yung pinagkuhanan ng solo pics.. anybody knows po? pa share nman po link kung meron na.. thanks in advance..

  32. dahil sa Chiptime na yan. Bumaba ako from rank 25th sa Guntime to rank 27th sa Chip Time. Bwahahaha.

  33. Conquered CSM 21k with PR. It pays talaga pag may regular training. Understandable sa 10k down kase libo libo ang tumakbo and they have limited manpower.

The Flash ika nga.

    2. Masyado kayong marami. Di ka nahagip ng camera.

Tandaan. Ang bib dapat nasa harap at nasa may bandang tiyan. Hindi yan pantakip sa kung saan mang nakaumbok, harap man or likod.

Mag pose at ngumiti. Wala pang 3 seconds yan.

Yun lang mga kapatid. Mabuhay ang mga Pilipinong Mananakbo. :)
