  1. Very organized ang run, sayang di ako nanalo sa raffle! Pero ok lang nakapagpapicture naman aq sa crush q at nakatakbo na naman aq haha! :>

  2. the route is unique in a sense that we maximized bgc before leaving for buendia. the 22nd -25th km seems like 5km . or i am just being impatient to finish
it soon. hydration is more than sufficient . i guess they learned from leg 4 that it’s better to have more than enough water and powerade than being reprimanded by
    the runners again.

  3. Sufficient fluids from the hydration stations, road traffic is organized, well done RunRio, the only downside is the finisher lootbag, kinda expecting more :)

  4. this is a nice run, my 1st 25K as they said hydration and branded DOLE potassium is good…. freebies was good also, kaso konti lang ang minor sponsors and the photobooths . . .. Next year more freebies please …. another thing very good medal…

  5. nice nice run….kuya kim congrats nice run..more freebies next time..daming celebrity..kaya lang mga suplada yung mga tumakbo di manlng ngpapicture s mga runners..but anyway enjoy nman..congrats new balance..i will run at 2013..

  6. it was indeed a fun run! bukod sa maraming celebrities eh well organized at tsaka sakto yung distance like what was advertised (may mga nasalihan kasi ako na run na laging short eh, ie: 5k = 4.5k, 10k = 9k etc / distances were tracked/measured by my ever reliable Timex Global Trainer GPS) so yun.. at super happy rin kasi new PR sa 5k ko :)) next year ulet!

  7. it was a great run… my first 25km… though i didnt make it in my target 2:30 min time.. still the experience was worth it.. dmi hydration, unique route, i thought masayado ata mahba ang 1km ngaun, espcially after i passed the 22 km marker… im just expecting more contents on the loot bag.. hehehe

  8. Congrats to all runners..nice run kuya kim..nxt tym sna maraming freebies kulang yung mga sponsors..madaming celebrity kaya lng mga suplada di manlng nag papics sa mga runners say hi wla din..hahahha…

  9. Its my first time to run, I tried the 5k category. It was fun, organized and there are hot celebrities. It made me decide to pursue this running career. I enjoyed a lot, see you all on our next run.

  10. to the lady runner who helped me stretched my left leg (cramps) at 24.5KM mark, maraming-maraming salamat! sorry i didnt catch your name or bib number man lang.

  11. Very nice and well organized run. I had to chance to see Coach Rio in person for the first time and he is really hands on in organizing the event. Hope to have a picture with you Coach Rio (dream ko yun as a runner :))

  12. Finally got my 10k:60mins – although this is accdg to my soleus. Finish line measured 10.44km, i saw 1:02:xx in the clock, overall a good run for me. Its nice to pace with solenn in the first 3k. Iniisip ko na lang na we’re running together, haha! Also my first time to win in a raffle, nice NB shirt, ayun tuloy, napabili ako ng discounted minimus zero (sayang lang, i was called in between timex watch and devant tv, hehe!). This is the best run i had so far – pace with solenn, won the raffle and ended a good finish.

  13. Congrats to all finishers. This was indeed a very successful event. at masaya ako na nakapagpa-picture ako kay kuya kim (yes,im a happy kid like that).

Running Buddies, salamat at na-push ang breakfast kanina. It’s always great to hang around with people like you. more runs and more breakfast to come. yay!!!

    cheers!

  14. smooth run…well organize this time by runrio…
@sporty, sorry i wasn’t able to meet you up after the race. maybe some other race events…

  15. @sporty: kailan kapa naging photographer ng pf, lakas mo talaga, hindi ka maawat ng security sa pag pasok mo sa cordon nila to take picture. bilib ako. indeed a well organized fun run. Congratz to all !!!!

  16. Very organized run. Beat my previous 10k run time by 15min. Overflowing with hydration. Kudos! Freebies sana more sponsors next time. Muhkang binuhos lahat ng budget sa race mismo wala na antira sa freebies! hehehe. Congrats to all!

  17. @sporty: mukha ka naman professional photographer sa dala mong camera, kita ko inisnab mo si coleen garcia at gab valenciano dahil die hard kuya kim fan ka, hahaha.

  18. @olan: wow, andun ka? nakita mo talaga ako?! hahaha…i went there for kuya kim eh. in fairness ang macho ni gab.

  19. oo nmn, kinikilig kapa habang pinakikita mo sa chikahan buddies mo ung pic nyo ni kuya kim. ako nmn im happy to see kikay runner in person.

  20. sobrang enjoy tlga 2ng run n to. lalo p at nksama ko n nmn kau Running Buddies! sarap ng breakfast ntin knina diba? salamat Bro Vince!

well organized un event kya thanks thanks thanks Rio! sufficient hydration at dmi dole bananas! one comment ko lng eh maxado nmn yta maaga ntpos un program. di n nhintay un ibang 25k runner n mkpag hulog ng raffle entry.

@sporty spice.. un deal ntin ha..dance to the tune of ma boy!!! hehhe

  21. Ganda ng event. Masaya nag pre-race & post-race events. Dami din celebrities that participated & almost all of them competitive.

Just to share to the organizers na sobra ang distance (speaking of 10k category). On my watch it was 10.64km. Also there were distance marker na Mali pagkakalagay.

  22. well organized, hydration sufficient, had fun, met some old friends unexpectedly after the run, seen some familiar buddy faces on track..super happy with my first 25k run and sure will run for next year again .. kudos RUNRIO organizes :)

  23. my longest run at 25kms…. good race overall especially the extended hydration stations… achieved my PR goal at the 21km mark then just had to take it easy with the remaining 4kms… the toughest part of the course is claiming the finishers kit then walking to my car at the parking lot feeling so sore..

  24. first time to try manila route!:) well organized and race marshalls are soo cool “goodmorning po” wala ako ginawa kundi maligo per station ahahahaha…I was able to kiss the wheeled guy wid his family sooo inspiring to see in person!to all my cabalen runners nice running with you guys!!!! as always we represent – Iambekirunner, keep running guys!:)

  25. Nice Run and the hydration is great, di ka madaling napagod. Daming celebrities nga and kuya kim is very nice to take some photos to the runners. Good thing the route is quite different not the usual. Nice meeting all of the running buddies, see yah all on the next run. :)

  26. @GenRo: hahaha. we wont let ur free breakfast get away. paghahandaan namen yang dance number na yan. basta ang usapan eh chorus lang. btw, congrats on ur 25km finish! :)

@akazukinkarina: sis, finally nagmeet na din tayo..hindi yung panay bbm lang..hehehe..kitakits sa next event. :D

  27. my very first HM/25k run, 10k is my farthest non-stop and 16.88k is the farthest distance. first time na gumamit ng hydration belt, so 2 6oz bottles is not enough pala… buti na lang super dami ng tubig, and hydration is well placed. though I didn’t run the whole thing because I have to run/walk after the 17km.. I was planning to run non-stop, kahit hanggang 21km. after that 17km, It was the crucial part for me. buti na lang at organized ang route at nagchecheer ang mga marshal, kaya kahit masakit na talampakan ko dahil sa blisters ay pinipilit ko pa rin tumakbo. this was a very organized run. loot bags are typical, medal is awesome.at si rio, talagang makikita mo sya na pabalik balik with his bike to check the route. I can compare this to adidas kotr. talagang nilabanan ng runrio yung magandang feedback na natanggap nung nagorganized ng kotr. kudos to runrio/newbalance. I can say, that was a hell lot of experience.. ang saya.. no negative feedback ako ngayon 10/10 score ko dito.

  28. I guess it’s unanimous – NB Power Run 2012 was indeed a Power FUN!

Hydration overflowing, Dole bananas aplenty, KM/directional markers, race marshals doing their job, celebrity-filled road… san ka pa?!

This is my longest run (25KM) and yet I finished strong – able to sprint to the FL, overtaking runners along. The best part is that I incurred no injuries (no blisters even) and I never got exhausted (though I did the Gallowalk in the last 5km)! =)

    I finished 2:57.

I agree though na medyo kulang sa freebies and post-race programs, but frankly, hindi ko pinapansin masyado yan. Kaya siguro mas enjoyable kasi hindi magulo. ;)

Thank you NB and Runrio for a great job! Sign me up already for next year!

  29. the best run so far!!! over flowing dehydration!!!! nice route!!! nice medal!!! looking forward to run next year!!! congrats runrio! :D

  30. @New Balance Power Run 2012 and Runrio

Di ko nakita si Kuya Kim, sayang! di bale my picture naman kami ni Christabel Martes.
Mam tnx for the picture together with my brother hope to see you again next races
Pr 3:17 at 25km, 100% safe and no injury. No gu gel just water powerade and banana.

God bless us all runners! Run safe and avoid injury!
    P.S. LOVE YOU ALL RUNNERS!

  31. nice run, organized, lots of hydration station, daming artista, sayang nga lang di ako naka pag papix kay coach Rio, ok yun freebies at least magagamit….

  32. Ok yung hydration supply kaso para sa akin sumablay konti sa laman ng loot bag..

ansaya ng 2 pirasong sabon at nizoral cream..

  33. @Mark-runner_ph
Di kami nagkita ni “Trainer”. Baka busy?

God bless us all runners!Run safe and no injury!

    P.S. LOVE YOU ALL RUNNERS!

  34. Congrats sa lahat ng finishers! Nice to know maraming nag-enjoy sa run at mag- celeb stargazing, hehe! Isa nko dun ^_^ super fast & nice of Team Gotta. Had to chit chat pa with Rovilson, Daniel Matsunaga and triath Gilbert Remulla.

Kudos coach Rio and New Balance Team!

  36. @ jerry,

Natuloy ang breakfast. Hindi ka kasi yata nagparamdam sa mga Lady Buds eh. They were waiting for Mark – runner as well. =)

  37. Very organized ang run proper (as with all RunRio races)….10/10 (especially the hydration)

Post-run…sana maging staple na yung therapy sessions with PT schools/interns pag may 21K and higher na distances…malaking bagay sya in avoiding soreness the next day.

  38. It was a very successful event. Everything about the whole organization of the entire run: Hydration was plentiful, route was challenging(hello kalayaan and BACK!), traffic was well organized, the medal was worth the reg fee- it was designed nicely(though I was hoping it had FINISHIER instead of FINISHER, JOKE! Hehehe), you name it. Runrio never fails to live up to expectations. Good job and congrats!

Minor details like photobooth issues or fewer contents of lootbag or celebs refusing to smile for photos shouldn’t be an issue AT ALL. Let’s all remember guys we joined to run, not to take photos right? Let’s run- more for the bigger issues in our society, lesser for our own. More importantly, let’s always have FUN!

  39. oo nga, we were waiting for Mark-runner at the finish line…hindi namen sya nakita or maybe na-miss out lang namen sa sobrang bilis nyang tumakbo :(

  44. Kudos to Runrio!

I admit i had a falling-out with runrio because of the Nike Run last year. I’m officially ending my boycott of runrio. I’m sorry for doubting the organization.

It was proven NIKE talaga ang bulok!!! :)

  45. i ran for 5k category, when i passed the finish line, my time was 24:59, whereas per runrio.com it’s 30:41. am wondering whysuch a huge discrepancy?

  46. ^ and isa pa, stucked to 24:59 yung time na yun.. kasi nung natapos ako yun din ang naka clocked eh, iba sa naka clock sa gps watch ko.

  47. Hallo,
    I have following questions:
    1) Does anyone has an explanation, why the ranking is according the gun time?

    2) Why do we need to know the time for 2,73 km in the 5 k, or the 4,78 km time for 10 k, or the time for the 8,41 km or 16,37 km in the 25 k.

But the ranking within the age group is not mentioned. I would like to compare my results especially with people in my age category, which makes more sense than the above mentioned information.
Internationally its already mostly done – in all race categories.
    “Age Groups
    Participants will compete in the following Male and Female Age Groups: 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over.

  49. @ Nick,

    Hallo! Just my opinion:

    1) Most races follow the gun time as official time. Chip time is for the individual’s perusal.

    2) I think those platform markers you mentioned were designed to track runners to ensure that they do not shortcut their way to the FL. If any one of them does not register after the race, it means that the runner didn’t pass that route.

Reason why race organizers do not use the age-group ranking? Probably to just save time and effort. Many, if not most, wouldn’t mind anyway, they surmise.

So it’s good you brought that up. If people starts to flock your way, they (organizers) will listen. Hopefully. ;)

    “NEVER RUN ALONE”

  50. @nick

    just my two cents worth.

    1. Gun time as official so that it shows the official winner of the race but some organizers also post a separate list based on the chip time.

    2. Yes. the markers are to make sure that the individual passed that part of the course. For me it also serves as an analysis as to what part of the race i was slow or fast (first half, second half etc.)

some use the runpiz analysis system which also shows the rank by gender and by age category. so it’s really the preference of the organizer. For me a race with a gun and chip time is enough so that I can keep track of my PR.
