  1. I’ll break down some of the pros and cons:

    Pros:
The route was nice. Nice views of the surrounding mountains. It was an out and back course with a very challenging with very challenging uphill climbs. The weather was nice an overcast.

The locals of the baranggays were very nice. So are Pimco’s staff.

The finisher’s shirt was very nice and made out of high quality material. Hindi tinipid.

Nice lootbag with items people can really use.

    Cons:
Hydration. There were only two hydration stations, one at 5k and the other at the turnaround (for 21k) although they gave out Pocari, it would be better if the frequency of water stations were more.

I’d also appreciate a rest are with chairs for the finishers.

All in all, the race was well organized. I had a lot of fun and was able to push myself through cramps and uphill sections. I still highly recommend Pimco organized trail runs. I already signed up for leg 3 (I thought that they will already give out the kits.

  2. there were no one to tell those who are still running the race on which way for runners to take at fork in the road going back to the Tanay Adventure Camp and the trail going to the finish line left already. I saw there are still runners at around pass 10:00 making their way to the last leg of the race.

  3. i enjoyed the race especially yung river crossing. sobrang challenging talaga nung uphill. sablay nga lang talaga yung hydration, i asked the girl sa baggage counter kung baket ganun yung hydration and she told me na nag. back out raw yung natures spring na dapat eh sponsor for hydration. sana lang may back up sila. mas well organize pa yung leg 1. may free buko at taho pa. i will still sign up for leg 3 to complete the trilogy.

  4. thats what i heard as well @ comment 2. they even said that a contract had been signed between pimco and natures spring. but still, its not an excuse.

  5. good thing i had a change of heart to bring my 2L hydration pack instead of the belt, otherwise i could have been among the last finishers as i could have suffered cramping due to dehydration.

the route was a bit less challenging since half if not most were in concrete. i heared from most runners that leg 1 was better for being a more trail running. this one also lacked variation. it was pretty much obvious the moment i saw the runners coming back. it blew the excitement.

everything else was enjoyable. nice sceneries. i was pondering what it feels like running inside those thick clouds. di pala dadaan dun. hehe! very friendly locals.

despite some oversights. i’ll definetly signup for the 3rd leg. =)

  6. It,s really a diasater in. Running the 2nd leg, it,s good that I brought with me my hydration bottle but it’s only 8oz. Then on .the last 2.5km of the 10km race, I already took the toll of not properly drinking enough water, I’m already experiencing cramps on my left leg..

  7. whew!! I nearly did not mate it to the finish line, I took the toll of not enough hydration site, I took with me my hydration pack but it was not enough (8oz. only) and at the finish line, it took time the medic responded to my needs, and this should be noted by the organizers, medics should be strategically located at the finish line and maybe at the route of the run. A big thanks to all those who have extended their help to me, thank you very much and God Bless. Despite the cons that I’ve experienced on the 2nd Leg, I will definitely finish the Triology coz I love trail Running………….

  8. Query ko lang po kung paano po yung basehan para ma determine yung top trail runners pagkatapos ng final leg, sino yung priority na ilalagay dun sa top trailers? yung mga naka kumpleto ba ng Triology? at paano naman yung isa lang ang silalihang leg? at pano rin naman po yung nag switch ng category? from 21k to 10k or vice versa of which sa dalawang nilipatan nila e nasa top ten na sila pareho? maisasama pa rin ba name nila on both category? hindi kasi malinaw yung rules nila (PTRA) sabi dun anyone who finished the first leg or any two of the leg will be qualified to the list pero pano ang gagawin nila? when I ask one personnel from the organizer, he said that kung ano daw yung pinakamagandang record or time yun ang iko-consider nila at hindi na nila ia-average pa yung time, whew!!! ang gulo naman!!! e di kahit pala mag switch ka ng category at nasa top ka e di pwedeng nasa both yung pangalan mo sa top trailers on both category……

  9. Salomon’s is longer (24k) and harder because of the incline in the LAST 2.5k of the race. Salomon’s also had at least 40% road. Both had their own challenges. I like Pimco’s courses better though it had a more “trail” feel to it.

  11. @Ryan Mamaril thanks bro. and i think (in my opinion) wla hihirap pa s salomon x trail run. syng i didnt registered at this event, nag aalangan lang kc s transportation going to site

  12. The run was good. First time ko kasi mag trail run, lahat ng experiences ko w/ the trail is usually when I trek mountains, Sarap ng feeling ng tumatakbo. W/ the hydration I think nagka problem ata sa Nature’s Spring? I never seen any of their supplies e though sila pa ata un unang i-announced na sponsor right?.. Overall okay naman talaga.. Sayang wala ko nung 1st leg. Mas okay daw un trail both uphill&downhill. See you all sa Final Leg.

  13. @Russell yep Salomon is tougher. Join the 3rd leg, I believe ok naman and organized yung shuttle nila dito. I didn’t hear any negative comments naman.

  14. as always.. pag more than 10k ang sinalihan ko… i always bring my own hydration supply…

*joke*

  15. remember, no 2 trails are the same. the harder, the high altitude, the better to be much appreciated. level up to trail events like 50km Pinatubo trail run this oct 14, and TNF100 50km mountain trial run for more technical ultra trail running. you will see the difference. kudos to pimco!

  16. I agree with ms let… Try to run the 25-k columbia eco trail on oct 13 and the 50-km Pinatubo trail on Oct 14 and you will see the resl difference of trail running…
