  1. Hotels inside the subic bay freeport are more expensive. If you are on tight budget, you may consider smaller hotels along magsaysay drive or gordon avenue. Walking distance from the venue. You may also try the hotel infront of Victory Liner terminal. It’s 1 jeepney ride to the venue.

  2. r@m©€$ nakakatakot naman, 1 week gap? ginawa ko sya last year tho two weeks gap naman, natpos ko pa rin naman yun sa condura pero night before run sumasakit yun legs ko… kung sasali ako, should i rest one week no training ? many thanks!

  3. @kyla

u should be the one to assess urself, know ur limits.
for example nlng ako, 5 sunday straight na 21k gngwa ko so far. dati dko naicp na kaya ko un, variation of 10/21k gngwa ko. pero atleast now alam ko na limitations and walls ko. know ur body muna, then always push better pero if u feel pain wag pilitin. gaya ng ginawa ko sa milo, i feel pain kaya dko pinilit tumakbo ng mabilis, pero i still finished w/in the cutoff period. regarding sa 42k its safe to say na have at least 1-2weeks na pahinga or run the shorter distances lang. cross training kn lng pag no runs.

  4. @kyla

tama si jerry. You should assess your body limit…As for me, im still on training module. Been doin the galloway-yasso 800 combo method. Tapos alternate road and trail running (sat and sun). Uphill training on weekdays (walkathon and sprint uphill) pero short distances lang, max of 7km uphill. Dont forget to have a rest in between. Also, do the RICE method for muscle recovery during the training days. Take some vitamins or supplements for faster recovery. Train hard and run easy…

This is my simple preparation for the TNF100.

  15. sa mga tatakbo, baka makatulong

    1. mainit sa argonaut highway… basta yung area united auctioneers to petron. Issue ito pa pabalik na.
    2. rolling hills from airport to botanical, pero shaded at may tree canopy
    3. steep grade down hill from botanical garden to ocean adventure
    7. last year every other aid station ang may pocari
    8. beginner friendly, however heat training is highly recommended.
    9. tapos steak to sawa sa meat plus… panalo!

In my opinion, SIM is one of the best 42km available and unfortunately one of the most under rated. One of my most memorable races of in my lifetime.

sa subic international hotel kami tumigil last year.

Ingat sa takbo… at good luck !

  16. Sa Subic International Marathon, eto ang auhtentic na marathon, unlike other marathon na organize within our country, actually d2 sa subic, ang isa sa pinakamalinis na area to held a marathon, d2 masusubok ang tibay ng isang tunay na runner. more than a feeling…just enjoy. Try SIM.

  17. Tama si sir mark-runner_ph at vinner bodota. SIM is one a kind Marathon event. The route is complete (rolling hills, lot of uphell, downhills), clean & fresh air, safe route. See you on the road fellow runners… Have a safe run…

  18. NEW BALANCE is offering 20% discount to Subic International Marathon 2013 Participants until Jan. 31, 2013. Just present your Race Bib to the store to avail of the discount on or before the end of this month. Thanks New Balance! :)

  19. SIM 2013 enhanced with eXtribe’s AIR Interface

    Real-time finish tracking
The online finish tracking feature is a close-to real-time report of runners as they cross the finish line. This means that family, friends and supporters of an athlete can see via the internet if and when their athlete finishes. They simply need to logon to https://subicmarathon.org/eXtribeAIR. The user interface is intuitive enough for anyone to navigate.

    Facebook Feed
The auto-post Facebook feature will automatically post a runner’s unofficial finish time on his or her wall moments after crossing the finish line. To activate this feature a runner must have a Facebook account and enroll. To enroll visit the link https://subicmarathon.org/fboptin and then follow the easy on-screen instructions.

  20. Naku! Thanks for the tip mark-runner_ph! I copy pasted your very helpful warnings from downhills to uphells update on my FB account. (https://www.facebook.com/laisa.gonzales). Akala namin QCIM na yung may matinding uphells, ohw nows! it’s going to be my personal worst, at least fresh air at walang rubbing elbows with the sasakyans. Counting down! hindi ako excited! Wahooo!

  21. pwede pa humabol? My 3 friends wants to join ng 10k category, last day na sa trinoma today, Is there a possiblity of an on-site registration?

  22. @Basierra27604 comment 136

    @laisa comment 145

Hindi obvious sa QCIM, which makes it a quite a challenge.

Hindi naman sa nananakot, compared to the route that SIM has, it makes Milo manila 42k, a walk in the park. This is what makes it extra special. BTW, medyo kilang sa 42 sila last year, pero yung difficulty eh compensated yung konting short sa distance.

Special sa akin ang SIM, dahil ito ang third official marathon ko at officially nag improve ako ng more than 1h and 15 minutes sa previous time ko sa QCIM nung 2010.

    Good luck!

  23. @ian comment 152

    good luck!

  24. @Basierra27604 comment 136

sorry missed out the one regarding hydration…

Ok naman ang hydration ng SIM last year, alternate yung water / water+pocari . In my opinion, ang risk eh ma-over hydrate. Though having a single 8oz bottle won’t hurt. Masyado nang over kung 16oz eh. Refill na lang ng pocari.

Pero sa akin lang ito ha, hydration requirements varies from one runner to another. I started running in an era where 5km is the de facto standard for hydration and trained accordingly. Ngayon kasi sobrang dami ng stops, and you risk drinking too much. It will also affect your time if you stop on each and every hydration station.

  25. @Mark – runner_ph SIM would be my 2nd marathon, targetting a sub 4:30 any insights? been following ur advices from every event’s comments page

  26. ANNOUNCEMENT: Due to unforeseen circumstances, there is a possibility that the rest of the finisher’s dog tags will not be able to make it on event day. Please be assured that we will send it to you the soonest time possible. Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

    -SIM 2013

  27. @orangeman comment 156

    goodluck pare !

to get a 4:30, you have to make sure that you go faster than 2:15 your current 21k races.

try to make the first half at around 2hours. Mainit na kasi yung pabalik at baka maapektuhan yung time mo.

If you are aiming for just 10 to 15 minutes, then 4:30 is definitely within reach.

Now if you have to take a break and walk for a few seconds, you can also do this during uphills.

Rested na dapat at saturday, full sleep. Ensure na fully hydrated ka ng saturday, ako I drink abount 3 liters of gatorade the night before the race.

    Good luck pare!

  28. @Mark – runner_ph salamat pare, excited na ko sa uphells ng Subic, honestly un ang gusto kong part, akyatan, pero minsan hyper kaya nauubusan, hehe. sana makayanan ung sub 4:30 para ung MILO marathon elims naman ang goal! salamat sa mga insights, balitaan kita! hope to see u in the runs din, and makasabay sa pace mo! Godbless! salamat salamat!

  29. As many of you may have already noticed, many individual results are not yet on the unofficial results. (https://subicmarathon.org/air)

Our electronic timing equipment was not able to perform optimally due to a series of major power interruptions and fluctuations provided by the venue.

We are now looking at our alternative sources (e.g.manual recorders, video) to base time results for the those still without times posted. Our team is currently working with these secondary sources to fill in and update the results. These updates will be posted within the next 48 hours.

Please bear with us and thank you for your kind understanding.
