  1. hardest 10k of my life. my first @ corregidor and it was a well organized race. food is good plus the PT’s from UERM. they’re a big help for all the runners. coach edward more power and you’ll see me again next year. btw, betong n may was really amazing. my wife keeps on laughing n laughing! very memorable for me. thanks to everyboby involved!

  2. This was a tough race! Ouch! The 21K course was even harder than last year’s – my time was more than five minutes slower than last year, but my ranking was higher. So maybe the training helped? Good to see results already, hope the entire list of finishers is published. Great race organization and a beautiful setting on Corregidor!

  3. Nice posts above by Sirs Mon and Franc. I too did the recent Nathan Ridge Run at Tagaytay and have been comparing them in my mind to determine which is the king. I had to walk more at Nathan Ridge but I was more tired after CIHM, so in my mind it’s a tie.

For those who heard there were showers available but couldn’t find them, they were at the far end of the big grassy field where the lunch and award ceremony were. I only know this from running at Corregidor the two previous years. At least 12 showers each for men and women and hardly anyone was using them; if you run next year, be sure to use them and you’ll feel great!

Thank to all the spirited, cheering marshals for helping us make it!

  4. My first here in Corregidor and certainly will not be the last. The toughest 21k I have ever done. A rewarding experience and what a way to tour Corregidor for the first time, without the tour buses! Overall a good race, good food, great day!

  5. Not even the tough course of Unilab Baguio Leg prepared me for Corregidor. But so glad to be part of the wonderful event! Congrats !!

  6. thank you coach edward kho and CIHM Team for the “uphell”, “downhell”, amd trail experience! rakenrol!!! best race to end this year!

enjoyed the hosts, mae and betong hahaha

    keep running!

  7. Mine’s only a 10K run and trail running is what I do best. Unfortunately I had to walk most of the time since my cough and fever still wasn’t subsiding. Next year I’ll repeat this course (hopefully feeling very well).

  8. This was truly an amazing event and experience.

from the carbo loading to the run itself to the night party. everything was well worth it. coach edward is such an entertaining fellow.. HAHAHA! :))

laugh trip! And the crowd was very kind and truly such an amazing people. true runners indeed. maraming salamat nga pala sa nag bigay sa akin ng GU power gel during the last 3k, nag cramps ako eh.. grabe lang talga.. haha salamat kaibigan.

sa mga marshalls! haha ang cute nyo at ang sigla mag cheer!! whooo girls are the best! wahahah

CIHM wait for me next year.. i’l definitely come back to conquer the ROCK

  9. One of the best runs this year. Hats off to Coach Edward Kho and the rest of the CIHM organizers. Though loner lang ako this year, will certainly bring the rest of our running group to Corregidor next year.

  10. this was such a great experience i wont ever forget.
my 1st time to go to corregidor.
my 2nd time to run a 21k. and this was my 1st tym to run in a uphill, downhill, terrain tracks.
i thought d k kakayanin. 1st five km pa lang pagod na pagod na ako. thanks god natapos k pa din. :)
ang saya at ang kulit ng mga organizers dto.
    nxt yr sasali ulit ako.

  11. had so much fun with CIHM! sadly my team and i weren’t able to join the party.:( but we enjoyed the tough route, the sumptuous food, and the beautiful place!

our first time for a ridge and trail run and despite the tough route, i finished 6th for the 10k for womens and my friend on the 17th for mens.

    the hosts are “amazing”..:D

sir edward and the whole team rocks!
job well done! til next year!:)

  12. I really had a great experience running fere at corregidor for my first ever 21km i challenge myself to overcome my fear and im so happy i finished it with great time….the UPHELL tortue my legs or will i say my whole body ahahahah….

  13. a very good year-ender run experience.. we’ll definitely come back next year. Thanks to Mr. Edward Kho, his staff, support crew, friendly+funny+wacky marshals, race guides and our “manong” afternoon tour guide… I’ved enjoyed conquering “THE ROCK”…

  14. the guided tour of the historical locations was very entertaining and educational. the carbo-loading party was very satisfying and the unguided tour half-marathon race was indeed international participated by foreigners from Belgium, Netherlands, Japan, etc. ngayon ko lang naranasan mag cramp, halos sabay kaliwa’t kanan sa dami ng uphills. the hardest 21k for me but was in high spirit with the cheerful marshals and water, banana, honey, juice and 100plus station aiders. cross the finish line and congratulated by the hands-on race director himself, Edward Kho. “amazing” was the word of the day.

    Sulit. What’s sulit? It’s CIHM!

  15. guys who among u ran @ 2nd CIHM and NATHAN for 21k? which run is more harder and more uphill to run??

one of the best run ang CIHM, i remember ive joined last 2 years conquer corregidor 16k. its alot different now. mas madami uphill and may trail and grass pa.

    good job tlga!!!

  16. @rusz: i think mas madami uphill and downhill ang CIHM pero Nathan was much harder & brutal especially on the last 3KMs. yung elevation ng CIHM sa last 3KMs ay parang kalahati lang ng Nathan…

anyways, both are scenic and epic runs although mas historic ang CIHM

don’t miss both runs next year..rakenrol!

  17. had so much fun in this run, new half marathon pr for us. . .pr sa dami ng picture hehe. can’t help taking photos of my wife and the scenery since its our first time in corregidor. will definitely not bring a camera while running next year hehe. and the party rocks!! til next year.

  18. I have to agree with bunso. I still found Nathan Ridge more brutal than CIHM. But most memorable para sa akin ang CIHM kasi kahit bottom 10 ako sa mga 21K finishers because I had a right knee injury, inantay pa din ako ng mga runner friends ko and they were cheering for me pa nga til I get to the finish line. Ang saya at sarap lang ng pakiramdam. At isa sila sa mga reasons kung bakit ako patuloy na tumatakbo, hindi lang ako tumatakbo para maging runner na takbo lang ng takbo. I ran because of enjoyment, fulfillment, camaraderie and friendship. ^_^

  19. Any details po about dun sa additional na P150 na binayaran for (iTaB on the Finisher’s Medal, name and finish time engraved). Saka asan po un finsiher certificate?

  20. My best run ever! Aside from being my finale run for 2011. Medyo nakakainis lang kasi 11th ako sa 10K kaya hindi nakaabot sa Top Ten Male.. hehe pero okay lang kasi being part of the CIHM is already an achievement na! :)

  21. Hi PJ and all,

The iTaB will be available in 4 weeks time. It’s like another medal that will be minted by the supplier. We have just furnished them with the official race result. As to the Finisher’s Certificate, some who were still in the venue during the awarding activities were able to get. For those who were unable to receive theirs it will be available together with the iTaB, most likely in R.O.X. We’ll announce the exact date, most likely a weekend. Thanks!

  23. Itching to run again. Was 5 or 6 weeks pregnant when I completed CIHM 2011 and no one knew. Just glad I finished the race safely. Now, my baby is already 5-months old. :-)
