  2. @elvin @c21: unti unti ko na binubuo “family outing” on that weekend..where else? subic! haha! if this pushes through, then count me in as another PF subic runner ;)

  3. to Organizer.

  4. @TheOriginalFVV

sana nga meron. but that will depend kung meron sila makukuha na provider who is willing to do this. medyo malayo din kse from manila to subic which is why its best to grab a place to stay =)

  5. I am torn between Timex and SIM… :( Any thought guys? Btw, I’m planning this to be my first 21K and Timex doesn’t have that category. However, it is organized by runrio and I am pretty sure that it will be a good run… What do u think guys?

  6. • Wala po ba singlets ang 3k or 5k?
    • Transportation to subic, meron po ba?
    • If NONE, how can i get there from MANILA?

  7. Hi all!

3k and 5k: no singlets given the price of reg fee.

Unfortunately, chartered transportation won’t be provided.

Directions how to get there from Manila:
-Bus to Olongapo (Victory Liner, Genesis, etc)
-Schedule of trips are at their website
-From olongapo, ride yellow jeeps which passes thru SBMA main gate
-From main gate of SBMA, walk towards remy field (less than 10 mins walk)

    See you there!! :)

  8. Hi all!

3k and 5k: no singlets given the price of reg fee.

We’re still working on transportation arrangements so we can’t commit for now. For the meantime, here’s the directions how to get there from Manila:

-Bus to Olongapo (Victory Liner, Genesis, etc)
-Schedule of trips are at their website
-From olongapo, ride yellow jeeps which passes thru SBMA main gate
-From main gate of SBMA, walk towards remy field (less than 10 mins walk)

    See you there!! :)

  9. The bus schedules can be a bit tricky. I think if you take Saulog, you might be late for the marathon. If you have some extra cash, I suggest you rent a motel room near the base on the night before the run. They might allow tents on Magsaysay park just outside the base entrance but that’s a big MAYBE. I think they definitely should designate a tent area for the participants.

  10. yung mga pupunta ng sbma dun po kayo bababa sa sm olongapo..from terminal of victory liner sakay kayo ng dilaw na jeep papunta ng sbma.

  11. @Reena:

I check the previous comments at SIM 2011. I have noticed that there are runners complaining about the lighting @ Argonaut Highway (from Oil Depot->AIA then before the bridge going to lower Mau), i suggest this early SIM’s organizer already has solution to address the runners concern or you may re-route from Remy field to Airport via Maritan Highway (which is well lighted)instead of Argonaut Highway. In so far as the Airport Area is concern, i believe it cannot be lighted because it may bring confusion on SBMA air traffic siguro Marshalls can help the runners. See you Subic SIM’s
    runners

  12. to all fellow runners,no problem na as far as lighting problem is concerned.im glad to inform you guys na ok na ang street lights around subic bay freeport zone.from remy field hanggang ocean adventure na turning point ng 42K event activated na ang mga street lights.

    @ bong@subicbay

ok na yan pare, alam mo nman dept namin concern jan.hahaha.

    STAY SAFE…STAY FIT…KEEP ON RUNNING.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.

  13. I <3 the dog tag! But not sure if I'm ready for 21k. Yehey no cut-off time. I just need a little more info po on transpo. I'm worried about bus availability past midnight

  14. ** ERRATUM **
    a few questions..

registered online, jan 21 1pm-5pm to claim the singlet, where exactly?
assembly and start/finish line will be @ Remy field?

any budget accommodations near the area? ( Php900-Php1500/night )
    a little help guys..

my 2nd half mary and 1st run for 2012!

    thank you kapanaligs! =)

  15. Mei.Lyn:

You could try hotels along Magsaysay Avenue the prices ranges from 1.2k to 1.5k. And it is just a few meters from Remy Field. See you here at Subic Bay

  16. hi mj., naghahanap din ako makakasama., baka pede tau magsharing sa hotel hehe., 09067333321 ang number ko happy new year

  17. Guys,

You may check Arlene’s Inn III along Magsaysay Drive. Last time I checked in was P900 for 24hrs. Ok na yong room, good for two.

    Contact No.:
    (047)-222-8877

  19. To my fellow SIM runners:

I suggest to get the 11pm Victory Liner last trip on the 21st of January and approximately you will be here at Olongapo City around 2:45am. And, to stand-by @ McDonalds Olongapo @ Magsaysay Avenue.

Brad@Subic, pre yung nakaactivate yung nasa kaliwa nang Arganaut Higway di yung sa kanan. I run from Building 229 to Triboa last nite, then hinabol pa ako nang aso sa bandang AIA dami pala aso duon…

  20. Medyo nalito din ako dun sa timing chip na nasa loob ng foam, first time kong nakakita non. Nakulitan ata sa akin yung NB-Trinoma staff dahil twice kong tinanong, di ko kasi agad nakita yung sensor hehe. Kita-kits pips sa Jan 22 :)

  21. still not yet registered. baka after pa ng PSE bull run makapag-decide. until jan 9 pa naman registration. sino pa dyan yung may balak sumali pero wala pa kasama?

  22. thanks! bong@subicbay .. last trip is ok then wait na lang for the gun start.. magisa lang ako so ayaw ko din nmn magstay ng over night.. hehe salamat.. haahbol ako sa registration. woooohhh!!

  23. I just saw this from someone’s post in SIM’s facebook page:

I suggest SBMA’s dorm at Cubi Area (P250.00/day). It is a Quonset type which was use by the US Marine and refurbished as a dorm type transient lodging.

registration at New Balance stores is only until Jan. 9

  24. Will they close kaya the route sa traffic? Kasi sa Clark Run namin last December, hindi sinara ang streets, so kasabay namin mga cars sa highway which is scary hehe.

  25. MJ:

My apology for the incomplete information.

Pls. inquire at Victory Liner Caloocan and Espana for the 11pm last trip to Olongapo/Zambales

  26. Chris L – thanks bro, that’s good to hear.

  27. I hope they extend registration. I’m registering at NB Trinoma on jan. 9 but I’ve been reading entries on FB that they’ve run out of race packets :(

  28. Hello all!

We are pleased to inform you that the registration at our sites (NB Trinoma, NB Shangri-la, NB Glorietta, NB Marquee Mall and The Outlet, Subic) is extended til January 13, Friday. Register now to run for fun and transformation! :)

  31. 2 hours lang yung byahe kapag 11pm kayo nagbyahe papunta olongapo kasi wala ng stopover. madalas kasi ako dati magbyahe ng 11pm papunta olongapo from manila

  33. MJ:

If you have a 1.2k-1.4k budget, please try Arlene’s Inn or the inns located at Magsaysay. Para walking distance sa Remy Field.

There is an inn sa PNP-Station 2, less 500hun lang ata. See you here at Subic Bay

    RAW Club

  34. @ bong@ subic
regarding sa St.lights along Argonaut Hi-way,talagang my mga portion na alternate ang mga ilaw.since we’re implementing EnerCon (Energy Conservation) program here (SBMA) hndi talaga naka full blast un lighting system natin.maliwanag pa din naman un road kya wlang problema.

  35. sana po magkaroon kayo ng racers-only bus transpo to Olongapo kahit past midnight at along EDSA ang pick-up points at kahit may bayad ok lang. Other races in Subic in the past have had their own buses before.

  36. last day na ng registration haha. still hoping magprovide ng transpo :)

kahit for a fee sana, tulad nung sa nathan, para sa mga bbyahe sa race day.

  37. Hi all!

Race packet claiming for online registrants is on Jan. 21, 1pm-5pm at the basketball court gym beside Remy field.

Registration at New Balance stores and The Outlet in Subic ended yesterday (Jan. 13) but our online registration will be open until Jan. 20 so you still have a chance to join and register! :) Here’s the link for online registration:

    https://subicmarathon.org/onlinereg/

  38. For those who want to join the 3k and 5k categories, we will have an on-site registration on Jan. 21, 9am-12noon and 1pm-3:30pm at the basketball court (covered gym) beside Remy field. See you there! :)

  39. aww… they were hinting on facebook that they might be working on some transpo e. I’m only willing to spend on the former Marine barracks but I don’t even know where it is. Is pinoyfitness and other running sites organizing their own transpo? Baka pwede makisama.

My hat’s off for PNP and AFP runners. You deserve Skechers Go-run for shoes and not those flat, awful, old, injury-prone shoes.

  40. hi JP, and the rest of the solo runner, if you want guys let’s meet then sabay sabay tayo magpunta ng subic on 21 then sharing sa room, mas makakamura yun… ^ ^

  42. Hi @QP, race packets can be claimed on Jan. 21, from 1pm-5pm at the covered basketball court beside Remy field :)

@cider, we have on-site reg for 3k and 5k from 9am-12noon and 1pm-3:30 pm. Our online registration is still on going so you may still register there and pick up your race packet on Jan. 21 :)

    See you guys there!

  43. @QP at mj. I will check it out.

  44. @Reena, we’re planning to take a night bus trip from manila on the 21st kc sana. We won’t be in subic until mga 2am on the 22nd. Any help?

  47. QueenP

Basically, most of the SIM runners will occupy and have their reservations on the nearest hotels/inns at Subic Bay.There are some hotels/inns you can check-in but the problem is it will be 3-4 blocks or 10-15mins walk to Remy Field. I could name a few at Waterfront Road, Dewey Ave. and Sampson Road in order for you to make a reservation:

    A. Waterfront Road (2.5k-3.5k/day)
    1. Herbies Mansion
    2. Surable Hotel
    3. BoardWalk Hotel
    4. Lighthouse Marina Resort

    B. Sampson Road/Dewey Ave.
    1. Casablanca
    2. Mango Hotel
    3. The Hotel adjacent to San Roque Church

    c. Subic International Hotel @ Labitan Road fronting the Ayala Mall Project

  48. Meron po Victory Liner leaving Pasay 2 am to Olongapo. Not indicated kung dadaan sa SCTEX so presumed its not. Will this be in Olongapo by 5 am for the 21k run?
